  7. Hello LNER4479 Yes, the K2 will be in the Passenger - Tender Mini-Poll. Brian
  8. Hello again NIgel Apologies...I had forgotten that I had taken diagram numbers out at the last moment as it was making the list look very complicated! However, it still applies that we feel makers are 'tooling up' to get what they can for their efforts. Brian
  9. Hello Nigel I understand where you are coming from here and that is why we always make the statement below in the introduction... You will find ‘an indication’ of what we are looking at via the suggested example diagrams in parentheses. We simply cannot list every incarnation! The makers are tending to ‘tool up’ to cover as many variants as are commercially viable. For us, the mantra is: If it looks like a Mink, it probably is a Mink, or a member of the same family. Let's see how the voting goes and we can then decide if 'greater focus' can be applied to any version. Brian
  10. PS to above. It doesn't have centre driving wheel flanges though! Brian
  11. Hello Paul and everyone Sorry for slight delay in coming back on this item... A Poll Team colleague had to dispose of some kit-built locos for the wife of a deceased friend recently. One was a J20 which came to me. It goes round 2nd radius curves with consummate ease so - I would guess - a manufacturer would be able to make a RTR version do the same. Brian
  12. Hello again Paul Can I confirm your vote? Are you voting for only the J67/68/69? Or are you also - which I would guess as being so - voting for J17, J19, J20 and J39. Thanks Brian
  13. Thanks Paul The B2 is coming up in PN Loco Mini-Poll No.3. I can't speak with Chris at the moment as he is off-line for a while. But I will query if he knows of the B2 getting to Peterborough North. I had it as 'a doubtful' (along with a couple of others) but we decided to leave it in. Can anyone confirm a B2 at PN? Brian
  14. Hello Trevor The photo is at Torquay. My copy also sits next to Summer Saturdays in the West...with Mainlines to the West adjacent, of course! Brian Brian
  15. Hello Trevor Many thanks for the tip - book now arrived and well worth buying! While writing, if readers are interested in 'the WR holiday season', you might like The Day of the Holiday Express. Pics below. I have to 'declare an interest' here as the author, Richard Woodley, is a good friend of mine. The attention to detail is outstanding. It is size 240 x 180mm, 184pp, with lots of B&W photos. Brian
  16. Thanks Mike - excellent! Clearly shows two types of Ore Hopper. According to the numbers listed in the thread I noted, the first two are LMS Diag.1894 and the others Diag.1941. The 1894 had higher sides. I love the evocative place names there...Gwinear Road, Praze, Nancegollan, Truthall Platform and Helston itself. Brian
  17. Hello again For those interested in the Helston branch, some good photos on the site below. Brian http://www.cornwallrailwaysociety.org.uk/helston-branch.html
  18. Hello Gilbert As I have ticked the Thx box, I can't also press the 'Agree' button. This is to say that I do totally agree! Brian
  19. Hello Gilbert Just been checking past 00 Wishlist Poll Results... Back in 2009 - before your current Team started running it - the J6 was the second most wanted LNER category loco. It dropped way back in 2012 - the first year we ran the Poll. Since 2013, it has been Middle Polling (albeit at the upper level of that segment) and became High Polling in the last Poll to run (2019). It was 23rd in the list of 70 LNER locos that year. Overall it was equal position 83 out of about 800 items listed. I have often raised the question of why this should be so! Or - maybe - it's one of those locos that no-one wants...until they see it! Brian
  20. Hello Steve Would you like 4, 5, 6, 9 and/or 10 logged as actual votes? Brian
  21. Thanks Mike By chance, I just re-googled my search with slightly different words in a slightly different order and the RMweb thread below popped up! Answers it all! Brian
  22. Hello Gilbert I have ticked the Thx box and recorded your votes, but could you clarify which of the B16s please? Any or all? We have listed them here as they are predominantly freight locos. My opening paragraph to this Mini-Poll included the line: The title is Freight Types, but we appreciate that some were used on passenger too. If we hadn't listed them here (total 12 locos) it would have overloaded the Passenger - Tender Mini-Poll later. We may 'appear mad' but there is method in that madness (most of the time!). Brian
  23. Hello everyone Can anyone tell me the destination of loaded Hopper Wagons from Helston in the late 50s/early 60s? I posed the question without success on the Helston thread and I don't have any suitable books with that information. Perhaps it's in an Oakwood Publishing Helston Branch history? Many thanks Brian
  24. Hello everyone I’m voting for: * J6 – an essential for the line. Sadly, never seems to poll very high – and I don’t know why! * J17 – essential GER loco. (I have a kit-built example, but would love a modern standard RTR) * J19 – as above * J20 – as above * J39 – already made by Bachmann but a version to modern standards would be welcome * J52 – essential to complete the range of freight tanks. An ‘unsung hero’ (or heroine?) * J67/J68/J69 – one of those locos that has ‘eye appeal’ and much going for it! Brian
