  1. Crew figures for the J70s...I'll fit them once the locos are weathered.
  2. A few photos from a late stage in the build.
  3. 257 is the GE version LNER G5 Class 0-4-4T No. 67322 BR Lined Black Early Emblem with Westinghouse pump and 2-rail cage back bunker [Great Eastern area loco]
  4. Thanks - I find Kadees go down very well with most of the crowd at shows....playing trains...will it catch on?
  5. I'm pleased you said that....its actually really small but I've tried to keep it "open". Thanks.
  6. I'm adding to this thread as I go. Ballast is Woodland scenics buff and light gray plus Green scenes grey. Over spray of Precision weathered sleepers and rails picked out with rust.
  7. I use Digitrains sound projects (mainly by Paul Chetter I think) and at shows I keep volume low..seems to work.
  8. Since the foto they have had sound fitted as well as Kadees which I know don't suit everyone but allow for a bit of delayed action shunting fun.....just need to fire up the airbrush for a bit of weathering....
  9. And a J70...no weathering, horn hook couplings but hey ho...its better than nothing..
  10. ...and..a J72 on a bridge...this has sound fitted (plus a stay alive) by Digitrains and is great fun...weathered by your truly at Missenden...
  11. I did say earlier I'd taken the opportunity to detour to some kit building... Fruit van Parkside Horsebox....with thanks to John Emerson for some research material. "Airfix" cattle wagon with a few modifications
  12. I think we need yellow card and red card buttons as well as a groan......I like a Shay as much as the next person.....but there are limits....mind you those Fenland gradients can be quite challenging...
  13. Oh yes the pill box.....I resisted on Lockdown Fen but it would look good...small stretches of unnecessary brick wall also add to the overall picture.
  14. I've certainly followed Chris's W&U related projects as part of the research for this layout
  15. and a bit of dry-brushing a la Roger Nicholls (for them that know him and his prolific layout building activities...)
