  1. Would they be Wellies from the Queen?
  2. I'm interested in how easy they are to work with, how they take paint and weathering , how they look and how robust they are once in place.
  3. Sadly I have neither the kit or skills to make my own
  4. This is what I was looking at - I'm just weighing up options at the moment https://kslaserdesigns.com/OO-scale/OO-scale-walling/OO-scale-open-retaining-wall I know Lcut do a "modular" range of arches as well.
  5. I'm currently looking at options for some 4mm retaining walls and wondered if anyone on here had any experience of the KS Laser Design products? I like the option of getting a long length in one piece. https://kslaserdesigns.com/OO-scale/OO-scale-walling Thanks Chris
  6. Importing wood based products can be tricky - worth checking local import regs Chris
  7. This rather assumes that in addition to the tools and skills required you can easily find straight timber and flat plywood........not that easy these days..

    Dapol 08

I have a Dapol 08 with Factory sound and an 8' shunting layout with 2 peco points and an NCE DCC system....it all works for me...
  9. I have found that performance definitely deteriorates over time even with cleaning and I have replaced Seeps on 2 of my exhibition layouts...
  10. I've always had excellent service - and their range is very good indeed. Chris
  11. I should add my experiences of the adaptor - so far so good with 2 Peco points on a shallow board. I confess I was doubtful but they have worked well for me. As space was tight I was careful to plan locations. and as I was using SMS boards I added small wood panels to give the mounting screws something to bite into without breaki/ng through. which also shows that despite all the "planning" I still managed to get a track feed or two under the PM. A small channel was carved into the block before gluing down.....
  12. Have you ever wondered what goes on a Missenden Railway Modellers’ Weekend or even been tempted to book a place? The current situation with Covid 19 means that the Summer and now the Autumn gatherings have been cancelled. The organisers have therefore decided to provide a virtual Missenden experience drawing on the resources and expertise normally only available at Missenden. This means that anyone who is interested can access all the on-line content on 17th and 18th October at no charge. The first online offering will include a modelling resource of tips and tricks that we have collected over the years with many contributions from current and former tutors. Much of the Missenden experience is interacting with other modellers, sharing ideas and solutions and finding new, and sometimes better, ways of resolving the difficulties that we all face. For a few years, we published a manual of such tips and ideas and this will now be available on the website. We are also planning to extend and improve this facility. In addition, there will be new content provided by current tutors and a number of our regular attendees. There will also be a number of live sessions which require booking. The main Missenden Home Page is here: https://www.missendenrailwaymodellers.org.uk/ and the event page is here: https://www.missendenrailwaymodellers.org.uk/index.php/autumn-weekend-2020-online-event/ Chris Hopper
  13. I bet you don't fancy taking Pendon on the road either!
  14. Thanks Wayne In view of the change of operator we've had a few engineering trains at Dock Street over the last week or so I've just got some bits for a Dock Street replacement - under the circumstances it may be "Lock Street"....going back to Peco "Old style" Code 75 for a slightly more compact track layout in an urban setting. Penmaenbach is to all intents complete. I finished the new signal box last night. In the mean time my Lockdown project has been completed - Lockdown Fen - a Scale Model Scenery "RUB" layout
  15. Thanks Marc - some photos this evening, bit of re-wiring and new owner collects on Saturday - all within safe working arrangements obviously!
  16. I'd just like to publically thank Dan and Derails for outstanding customer service in relation to a track delivery interrupted by a bomb scare at a large Royal Mail delivery office, a considerable period when the parcel was clearly somewhere in "dark territory" and an eventual delivery this morning. Chris
  17. The rest of my sentence...."Artificial pitches MAY be an option but like you I am sceptical..."
  18. I have too Paul. Leighton Buzzard was particularly memorable. Artificial pitches MAY be an option but like you I am sceptical...
  19. Tennis Courts and Five a side pitches are relatively level........
