  1. Not sure that you can upload video to RMweb. I upload videos to YouTube and then post the share link.
  2. We were going to come combined with a family visit just down the road, but unfortunately our train from the top left hand corner of Wales on the day we were due to leave was cancelled. Hope things went ok for the exhibitors and visitors that were able to get there and you had a good day. Hope to get there next year.
  3. Could be an expensive month, Hornby H, Dapol B4 and Hattons P Classes all due to land in March.
  4. The problem i find with Zimo is the outdated english translated Manual on the website which usually runs about 3 years behind the latest decoder updates/releases. So some of the more recent CV adjustments are only available to those in the know. Doesn't stop me buying them though. If anyone can point me to the latest (2018) Manual in English (if it exists) i'd be grateful.
  5. Hi Rudy, I was looking at your video no 22 , stopping position in block. I would like to have my shorter trains stop in the middle of the platform so was hoping to do as your video. Problem is I only have TC silver and it doesn't have the 'trains' tab when editing the stop and ramp markers. The Railroad&Co website does a comparison between different versions and it suggests this can be done in TC silver 'with a little more effort', but I can't fathom it out. Any suggestions?
  6. I have just read on Early Risers that services from Paddington to Reading have been suspended so here is a Service Update on my train to confirm matters. London Paddington 1st March 2018 (RealTimeTrains) Ind Origin Pl ID TOC Destination Plan Dep Act Dep STP Starts here 9 1Z11 WR Cardiff Central 0922 N/R* * Not Running. WTT services are denoted as CANCEL Hope you people are not too inconvenienced by all this. Something to hark back on in years to come?
  7. Hello all. Wishing you a Happy St David's Day, I should be tucking into a hearty breakfast on the 1Z11 0922 London Paddington to Cardiff Central hauled by 70013 Oliver Cromwell only it has been CANCELLED... Bitter cold with light flurries of snow falling on the white landscape up here in the top left hand corner of Wales. Ivor does not want to come out of his shed. He will, as soon as everyone wants to be taken up the hill with their sleds and snowboards. I expect he will want to join in! I had better go and warm him up. Lucky that Ivor brought another wagon of coal up from Pugh's Pit. We will need all that coal if we have to do trips from Llangrubbin to the slopes all day. Then it will be back to the office to plan another trip... Keep safe and warm.
  8. I've used many scopes when i was working some costing £k's, but since retiring i use one of these: http://www.picaxe.com/Hardware/Add-on-Modules/PCB-scope/ For £15 plug-n-play, it does everything i need.
  9. I had the same problem with my 1934 version. Cured it by moving the white wire of the 8 pin decoder plug from pin 3 to pin 6.
  10. You just need a Sound Decoder and Speaker. Have a look here: http://www.youchoos.co.uk/Index-Resource.php?L1=Guides&Item=DapolOTerrier
  11. The Well base and sides are thin ply, just the surrounding sandwich construction is MDF. It's surprisingly ridged now it's together, time will tell how it fairs with time. The Bridge deck is not so well thought out electrically, i made a modification so pickup is from a continuous race rail to one track and the other to the centre bearing.
  12. That looks like the view from Llynnau Mymbyr, Capel Curig, of the Snowdon Horseshoe. Here's one from Google Maps: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Llynnau+Mymbyr/@53.0975269,-3.9290191,3a,75y/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipOyS1uOkjdyFoilty1MtJNLvbsPst4r4ZggqcVW!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipOyS1uOkjdyFoilty1MtJNLvbsPst4r4ZggqcVW%3Dw152-h86-k-no!7i5472!8i3080!4m5!3m4!1s0x48650e2508b058d5:0x843cfffd115ba98a!8m2!3d53.0978632!4d-3.928736?dcr=0 Although its not as good as your painting Andy. Funnily enough we drove past there a few hours ago from a day out on the Llangollen Railway.
  13. I think you mean London Road Models? According to their website, North London Models closed several years ago.
  14. Trouble is George i like running passenger trains and i just don't have the space.
  15. Hi George, what size soldering iron do you use on the O gauge stuff, i have a 25W iron which is ok for most of the 4mm scale stuff i do but i think it might struggle with the kind of work you're doing.
  16. I have a similar NCE PowerPro System and power a separate 12V bus from something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5V-12V-24V-48V-AC-to-DC-Power-Adapter-Transformer-30W-120W-CHARGER-LED-CCTV/162653971894?hash=item25deeea5b6:m:mX8BDI4ae6WtjiVnBLye4gg It powers all my IRDOT's, MERG and Team Digital (DBD22) Occupancy detectors (about 40 in total). All connected to 3 NCE AIU's.
  17. See Post: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/78578-dcc-controlled-peco-turntable-project-using-a-arduino-uno/?p=3024245
  18. Thought i'd just post where i'm up to with the new Cowans & Sheldon 60ft turntable build for a new layout. This is the toothed belt drive from the stepper, the slotted holes allow belt tension to be adjusted. Mounted on the bottom of the turntable well. Turntable Deck and Well still need to be finished, waiting for some decent weather for spraying. Full details of the build are here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/62699-rays-4mm-workbench-metalsmiths-turntable-end-of-p13/?p=3038724
  19. Hi George. Great progress. A quick question for you, what do you clean up with before applying a first coat primer?
  20. Hi Ian, As you say, useful for DC users, but i thought it would have made more sense just to add the I2C pin outs to the DCC Interface board and then it would be usable for both DCC or DC users. DC users would just omit the DCC interface components, and DCC users would have the additional benefit of an optional manual control keypad/display. Even the same sketch would work for both DC and DCC. Anyway, thats what i have done.
  21. When i built my shed i was told if it were within 1 meter of a boundary there would also be a height restriction of 2.4m above ground level.
  22. I guess they're catering for situations where the stay alive is fitted in a different space to the decoder as would have to be the case in the H Class. The only decoder i've ever fitted a stay alive to is a TCS DP2X-UK variant and IIRC i had to alter a CV to make it aware of the Stay alive. I don't see anything in the Zen manual that refers to this so maybe not necessay for the ZEN. I'd email DCC Concepts and see what they say, they're usually very quick with a response.
  23. I think your assumption wiring it are correct (looking at the online manual) but no idea why its not working, maybe a duff stay alive. IFRC the H class has all wheel pick-ups so shouldn't really need it.
