  1. Try this. Go to the EDDC planning portal (their terminology, not mine!) at: https://planning.eastdevon.gov.uk/online-applications/ In the "keyword etc." search box put Seaton Junction. That will bring up lots of planning applications - look for the ones referencing "Station House" or "Station Building". Specifically, there's one from 2014 & another - the original application that was allowed to lapse - from 2010, I think. In the "documents" section of those applications you'll find, amongst other things, plans, elevation drawings etc. Buried in there somewhere is at least one drawing of the main station building as it is currently. Can't remember whether or not it has dimensions. Sorry I can't be more precise but just haven't got time at the moment to dig through everything - got my hands full with Mrs DS who's recently been thrown out of hospital with her new bionic hip & needs watching as she tries to hop around the house . . . . Good luck duck!
  2. You certainly don't want to be using a rubber that sheds bits everywhere. Not at your age. E. Jack Ulatory Funcshun
  3. Morris (!) mini pickup being loaded with fish boxes on Tormouth Quay while (unfinished) K's Fowler Dock Tank goes about its business in the background, "N" next would seem to be the logical request.
  4. Don't think I'll see you, John, but say hello to Chris for me. Sheila had a hip replacement last Friday at Wonford & I brought her back home Monday afternoon so I'm now chief cook, bottle washer, dog walker, shopping bag operative & general dogsbody. Can I claim allowance as a carer? Trying to find a way I might be able to escape to Minehead the followingSaturday, but still hitting a brick wall at the moment. Anyone want to look after my wife (and, as a bonus, Jack Russel) for the day? Think carefully before you answer . . . . Give my love to Bob Ahrens & remind him Tormouth Quay is still available for bookings . . . . Don't think he loves me any more . . . .
  5. What happened to "G" ? And don't forget we haven't had "A" either. Oops, sorry, beaten to it. And just when I'd got a few "I"s lined up!
  6. From the other side of which these days (although not back in the halcyon days of the early '60s) you can look out over the Lyme Bay Cider Company vats & yard, home of the rather addictive Jack Ratt & a varied selection of "country" wines & liqueurs. ** ** Note: I have no connection with this company other than as a satisfied customer . . . . hic . . . .
  7. I bought a pair as well. They're shown here in untouched EP condition: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/122440-taunton-photographs-2017/?p=2710118 and here after painting: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/122440-taunton-photographs-2017/?p=2761934 Haven't done anything to the interiors, to the couplings or to extra details on buffer beams etc.
  8. You can nearly see our house on that shot or, rather, the site of it - it wasn't built when that photo' was taken!
  9. Ooops, sorry, my mistake - didn't realise you were talking about food . . . .
  10. Didn't Gary Glitter get himself into trouble for saying something like that? Not to mention Stuart Hall, Owen Oyston & Bill wotsit from Coronation Street . . . .
  11. Oi ! Less of the "small" if you don't mind. That's my local station you're talking about.
  12. Hopefully the grovelling apology is enough to cover my nether regions should it become necessary (unless, of course, you know differently . . . .)
  13. To return to the High Court Belokon vs Owen & Karl Oyston (Blackpool FC) unfair prejudice case, all I can say is "Wow". I thought I'd got a pretty good idea of what's been going on for the past few years but some of the stuff that's come out is just unbelievable. Why the Oystons would want some of those disclosures to be in the public domain is completely beyond reasonable understanding. Belokon's legal team were from Clifford Chance. By all accounts, the Oystons must have got their team from "take a chance"! Needless to say, the former seem to have wiped the floor with the latter. During questioning, Owen & Karl have contradicted themselves, each other, their advisors and their written statements. The past few years have been such a web of lies & cover-ups that it's almost impossible for anyone, themselves included, to pick a consistent path through the maze. It was stated in court that BFC should be regarded as a "property business with a football club attached". It has been on record for some time that somewhere around £30 million has been transferred out of the "football side of the business" into other parts of the Oyston empire, often as unsecured, interest-free loans to be paid back "at the sole discretion of the loanee". These transfers included a payment of around £11 million to a company wholly-owned by Owen for services provided to BFC. The only slight problem here is that the company in question was, and had been for some time, dormant! Perhaps the most telling comment, from a fan's point of view, was the Oystons' QC's assertion that it was "safer to take the money out of BFC and put it into Segesta etc rather than "squandering" it on investments for BFC such as "buying players" ". Says it all, really. Within 24 hours of beating Cardiff in the Championship play-off final - reportedly the most valuable football "prize" of all - there were internal memos between father (Owen - owner) & son (Karl - chairman) discussing how they could remove money from the club without other shareholders/backers being involved and how much they could take. Incredible! Those of you who know what's been going on and are aware of how readily they have issued defamation proceedings against any fan who has dared to question them and/or their actions (or lack of) will understand when I stress that the above is purely my understanding of the situation, may, indeed, be far from the truth and is not intended to cause any offence or distress. If any of those apply I apologise wholeheartedly and will immediately withdraw my comments. Anyone reading the above should not necessarily believe it to be the truth! Hopefully that statement will be enough to cover me if any of the Oystons or their "police" are toy train fans!
  14. Had hoped to get over to join you but circumstances on the day dictated otherwise. Perhaps more success next time.
  15. > Somewhere with "market" in the name. Clayton & North British products standing outside the still unfinished new Haymarket diesel depot in September 1965. Keeping to the same theme, somewhere other than Haymarket that has "Hay" in its name. edit: sorry - for sake of accuracy, that should read September 1966, not 1965 (10th, to be precise)
  16. When I read the thread title I thought it should be under wheeltappers, not modelling zone. Shows the way my mind works!
  17. Kevin - can we get through now to Matford from Countess Weir roundabout or is Bridge Road still closed?
  18. Thanks to Phil & team for your hospitality (and manpower!) on Saturday. Smart move not telling us in advance about those steps from street level up into the hall . . . . didn't make for a good start to the day for me but seem to have survived in the longer term! Managed to park up by Tinside Pool after we left you & saw the end of the Armed Forces Day air display over the Sound, including the wing-walkers. From there to Kingfisher chippy in Plympton (2017 National Chippy of the year winners) before heading back home along A38/A30/A35. Hope the visitors enjoyed it & looking forward to seeing you all again.
  19. Nearest I can get is Croes Newydd but that was GWR rather than Cambrian so "I'm out".
  20. Nice to see you back. Structurally they're the forthcoming Kernow coaches. It's all explained here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/122440-taunton-photographs-2017/&do=findComment&comment=2761934
  21. Holiday greetings from Tormouth Quay! We've had a lovely week down here, the weather's been perfect - well, if I'm honest, it's been too hot at times but mustn't grumble. We were lucky enough to have a ride in this old LSWR "gate stock" set on Thursday on an enthusiasts' special along part of the street tramway. We're spending the day in Plymouth on Saturday before heading back home via the "chippy of the year" in Plympton, just off the A38. Hope we'll be able to meet up for a natter sometime during the day. We're setting off early so should be in Plymouth about 10 & I think we'll be packing up for home at 4-ish.
  22. This seems a little out of place a couple of months on and after the viagra comments, but back in post #8 I did say "watch this space". Briefly, the deed is now done - took advantage of the good weather during the last couple of weeks although at one point I'm sure the paint was drying before it even got out of the venturi tube in the airbrush! Result could be better but it looks OK from a distance & it's good enough for me. Beats the hell out of the half-finished Jidenco offering on the work bench . . . . I've seen a reference to set 374 being withdrawn in unlined crimson in 1956, so that's how I've portrayed it. No doubt someone will tell me that's wrong but I don't care - it's my trainset & rule 1 applies. Still needs weathering but I'll get round to that sometime. At least I got it done before the "proper" one hits the streets and I'm sure those of you waiting for your orders with the full factory finish are in for a treat. Anyway, a couple of photos of it being cautiously propelled over the cobbles at Tormouth Quay while working an enthusiasts' special. Don't know where the man with the red flag has gone - perhaps he nipped into the pub for a quick one on the way past. Could well be recreating this scene at the Plymouth Show on Saturday if any of you are there.
  23. Another one you've nicked from Thorncombe! You cad, sir! Who do you think you are? We're not your feeder club, you know.
