  1. How about cable ? .Anyone know.? Keith.
  2. Thanks very much Castle for all that splendid information. I now intend getting a copy of your book. Regards, Keith.
  3. I have often wondered what parts of the original 7013 were on it when it was withdrawn as Windsor Castle, and what parts were left on the original Windsor Castle when 7013 was withdrawn. Keith
  4. Completely agree. I always have a quick look at their weekly newsletter hoping for any news whatsoever on the D600. When as usual there is nothing, I immediately delete the newsletter. On a personal level I have had seriously ill health for the past several years and I have really now given up hope of receiving a model of what was my favourite early diesel. Keith.
  5. Thanks very much Castle for that excellent reply, that clears up my question admirably. Regards, Keith.
  6. I simply do not see anything acidic in what I posted. I am simply a great believer in the truth and facts, not in guesswork.
  7. Guesswork can be very misleading, people could take it as fact. I am fully aware that 4082 and 7013 changed identities in Feb 1952, my Grand father died on the same day as King George V1. I do not know your age as you have not entered it in your profile, but I was already trainspotting in 1952, were you.?
  8. I have been retired for over twelve years now and I still dream nearly every night that I am still out and about doing my old job. I am very pleased that you state that things like this are a sign of a healthy brain. Keith.
  9. Yes, I am fully aware that 4037 was built as a Star. Just as I am fully aware that the vast majority of the 4073-5012 group received squared off cylinder covers in later life. In your first post on the subject you stated that all of that group that were built with scalloped covers carried them right through their existence I and most others know that is not true All was looking for was the I.D of the few that retained them to the end. There is no room for guesswork on the forum, only facts. If I am not 100% sure of anything I would not dream of posting a reply to any question. This may come over as argumentive but it is not meant to be like that. I was just answering how you answered about 4037. Keith
  10. Also just found photographic evidence of 4037, 4074,4082,4076,4087,4088,4090, 5000,5008, having received the later cylinder covers.
  11. I thought that the majority of the 4073 to 5012 build had their inside cylinder covers replaced to the squared off design during their later days of operation. I had realised that 4073 and 4079 had retained the scalloped cylinder covers but not sure what others [if any] also retained them to the end. 4082 definitely received the later cylinder covers as did 4088. [photographic evidence] Keith
  12. Thank you, Gentlemen. Mission accomplished. Regards, Keith.
  13. Just a simple question that I really should know, but my memory is not as good as it used to be. How do you separate the body and the power bogie from a Lima Warship.? Thanking you, Keith.
  14. I just do not like or understand American comedy. I just keep watching the older UK sitcoms. Still fantastic to watch. Keith
  15. Can anyone tell me which W.R. early Castle class loco's ended their working days still retaining the original scalloped inside cylinder cover.? Thank you, Keith.
  16. If he is a qualified doctor he should be putting his training to much better use. I have gone off him a lot more learning that. Also it was not a rant, it was a statement of how I felt.! Keith.
  17. Ex school teacher I believe. Who on earth would want their children taught by such a idiot.
  18. This as got to be the most entertaining thread on the forum at the moment.
  19. LLewelin Bowen, who labels himself as a homestyle consultant. Gok Wan, who calls himself a fashion consultant. The worst two people that appear on the TV. When they come on I honestly feel like I am going to vomit, I have to get out of the room fast if my wife wants to watch. They both love their selfes and their stupid appearance. Keith
  20. The same thing happened to me. This was with a Will's Collet goods 0-6-0. I rebuilt it with the aid of a couple of spare parts from Will's, repainted it and I still have it.! It still runs fine and for me with a bit of detailing I am happy with how it looks. Keith
  21. When I was building white metal kits in the 1960s I allways believed you had to use a etching primer. Keith
  22. I would think that going by their track record it would be a waste of two stamps. Keith.
