  1. I would like to open up a passenger fitted MK1 just to see how many you get.
  2. Well the video it's self was very clean. I had previously criticised the production quality but that was a lot better. Well done Bachmann. I will be picking up the post war figure sets. Probably won't grab the lime light but they are a great addition.
  3. I never understand how people are surprised or annoyed by duplication. There is a common wishlist that the manufacturers look at. Manufacturers who aren't allowed to reveal to each other what they are working on. And in the last couple of years it's frowned upon to declare it unless it's on the verge or release. It's like if I gave everyone a shopping list and complained you all came back with eggs. What do you expect to happen? And the idea that certain locomotives belong to certain companies is also ridiculous. Best model wins, end of.
  4. Well the coupler is a great addition. If they are working on a retooled 08 or something in the background... Makes you wonder what they will announce tomorrow if they let this one out early.
  5. Having not heard anything I am assuming these are going ahead?
  6. Out of interest are you able to buy stuff at shows? I'm normally distracted by the samples and was just wondering if you actually sell directly.
  7. Last minute southern green one ordered. I was initially put off by the dome but sod it. I can always weather that one.
  8. That has to be a wagon surely...
  9. I think a new steam locomotive would be the T6. With a preserved locomotive suddenly in vogue and the cross country sets from EFE it makes sense. Another run of EFE LSWR vans in lswr livery would be welcome. I would very much like an upgraded 170. The price of the second hand cross country livery units hardly makes it worth buying the old tooling. And I must admit I was very impressed with my mates sound 158.
  10. That's great and I support that. I just wish the announcements didn't have the production value of a 90's health and safety video. In today's world of social media you would think they could hire someone to film and balance the audio. Compare it to the Bachmann video above. If you are going to tell me the new coach I want is £80 at least make it look a little more professional while you punch me in the balls.
  11. I just hope they sort out the audio. Every announcement the volume is all over the place.
  12. I remember around 2000ish they were giving away Dapol blue and grey MK2 coaches is you spent X amount.
  13. Out of interest how do they look next to the Hornby LSWR coaches? They seem to be perpetually on sale and I am debating an odd one as a loose vehicle.
  14. Oh I couldn't give a toss about the collectors value either! My models are straight out the box, crew added and on a layout. The P class in particular runs too nicely to sit in a box. I just thought it was a bit harsh for them.
  15. The P class really is one of the best RTR shunters ever made. If the new batch is cancelled I feel sorry for the guys who had bluebell in their collection. Going rate before the new batch was about £300-£350. New batch was announced and they sold for about £120ish for people who cant wait. Now if that new batch is cancelled the value will probably shoot up again.
  16. While it's currently a blow out for us southern modellers (you never know what's coming later) it's nice to see the proper GNER HST livery without the red doors.
  17. Honestly I though what's the gag? A real shock. I feel for the staff who have probably lost a dream job. One last order gone in.
  18. Really hoping these go ahead. If it's a numbers game declare it. I'm sure given the reasonable price a lot of us would double down to get them over the line. Or perhaps drop a livery of two. Bluebell will sell by the crate but perhaps not the SECR goods green. I have ordered the goods green for the record, just realistically that will probably sell like the ROD models.
  19. Efe have done the best out of me recently. Boosters, cross country set and LSWR vans. Should be rapidos year so far with the O1 and various wagons. Depends on what Hornby pull out the bag. I will be waiting by the letter box tomorrow for my southern green booster :)
  20. I remember Bachmann confidently making that claim when they bought Graham farish. Everything will be available in N. How did that work out? Still waiting on the 7f, 2EPB, MLV etc...
  21. Thanks, a lot of useful information there :)
  22. Hello. Open plank wagons often had their loads tarped. In the 30's the most numerous owner of wagons was the LNER so plenty would have appeared in the southern region. What was the situation with tarps? Would these have largely stayed in their own region of had the same mixture and ratio? If I want to sheet a couple of wagons on a southern layout, statistically what would be the most appropriate? Thanks
  23. I would just like to say thanks to railtec. My mate lost his mum last year. She used to go with him and his dad to all the exhibitions. I thought it would be nice to rename a Pullman car in her name for them. It absolutely made his Christmas! Thanks for producing the names and getting them to me in time, despite the busy time of year.
  24. My personal wish list would be either a Lord Nelson in olive green with smoke deflectors, a Baltic tank or a LSWR T3. Any of them and I will be more than happy. I think coaching stock wise some sort of clerestory coaches would be good. They are popular enough to STILL sell the triang model. Another run of 12 wheel Pullmans is SURELY due. That's a lot of tooling for a single release! Wild card that I would love to see produced, particularly as a competitor to Bachmann would be a 5-WES in the popular NSE livery. I can't see the blue box mob producing that for less than £600.
