  1. Cheers. They are a trailing wheel for an 0-4-2 tank engine. I have used wizard for a few bits but so much is unavailable. I will check out Gibson wheels.
  2. Hello peeps. Where do you guys get your wheels these days? Trying to find Romford or Markits wheels seems to be a real challenge! I have kits to build but no wheels. Trying to find a pair of 18mm wheels in 00 gauge that don't have cranks for driving wheels. Is there a magical supplier I have somehow missed?
  3. I couple all my coaches in fixed rakes with something semi permanent. I was just testing them as supplied.
  4. Well I had them on a set track today through a point crossover with no issues. Also around a 1st radius 90 degree curve, although unpowered as it was a tram line. Lovely models. Keeping up the theme of not quite right locomotives I was running a black C class. Although when testing them on a gradient a Heljan hymek in Dutch livery was used... It's quite a steep hill. The only fault I could find was the kinematic couplings didn't quite return to straight so only one hook would connect. That may change with use or a puff of graphite powder. They were fresh out the box after all.
  5. My lswr set arrived today and I must say that it is a bold livery! Pictures don't quite reflect the colour in real life. Wonderful models. Now to try and resist the olive set... I am off to my friend's set track layout Sunday so will test them through all the curves and point combinations. Seriously though, grab some ear defenders because that livery is LOUD!
  6. Got an email from Derails :) Balance paid and hopefully they will be here soon. Can't wait!
  7. Cool :) There's a lovely A12 on eBay at the moment in southern livery. Judging by the bidding there's certainly a demand for a high spec model. Looks like someone did a lovely job on it. Not knocking the 00 works model, but a version from Bachmann or similar would be most welcome.
  8. If they do drop some items that's a shame. But they have got some good stuff for their money. The terrier for one! If they drop the radial maybe I will FINALLY get a Hornby one in olive green.
  9. Not one for me but I must say I'm so happy they included a crew! May that spread to everything else in the range!
  10. Man that takes me back! I remember a visiting model by network southeast along the same lines. Warning about track voltage, level crossings etc. I even got a NSE lunchbox printed like an emu. I haven't thought about that in 30 years... Great idea for a layout :)
  11. Honestly, I would just produce the most numerous version and you get what you get. I don't see the requirement to tool every possible variation of everything. Leave something for the modeller to do and cottage industry of modification parts. Less tooling would keep the cost reasonable as well.
  12. Is the black 5 still tender drive? Interesting choice with the N version of the Thanet Flyer. The 00 version was using much older tooling coaches in an incorrect livery. The N version has much newer tooling still in an incorrect livery. They could have gone for a BR black and either green or blood and custard coaches. In 00 they didn't sell extra coaches to expand the train. At least with a BR livery you have a chance to extend it or mix in some MK1's.
  13. Does the T9 really need a retool though? I mean, it looks like a T9... I would rather a K10 or L11 for a bit of variety.
  14. The 4 coach sets can be expanded with a couple of Roxey diagram 713's if you're up for a bit of renumbering :) If lswr coaches come into vogue I hope someone pushes for an ex LSWR pull push set for my Hawkhurst branch!
  15. Well I have treated myself to a LSWR set. Seems like a "you snooze you lose" release and I don't want to miss these :)
  16. The CEP/TEP is madness. That you are going to tool up a refurbished unit and not actually release a 4CEP people have been asking for for years is crazy to me. Here's almost want you want... That will be £550 please! Jaffa cake 4CEP? Why yes sir! Coming in 2025 sir, for a mere £700.
  17. Surely a T3 is due shortly from someone or another.
  18. £70 a coach rrp, that's the same. Not cheap but that's where we are.
  19. This is an old model from when Dapol first dipped their toe in N. I think the original was basically a modified 14xx chassis or used common components like the driving wheels. A model from a different time when an N gauge southern tank engine was unheard of. It should really have been totally retooled from the ground up.
  20. We damn! Has the A12 been updated at all from the white metal chassis?
  21. Has anyone tried swapping bodies with an original spec M7? Be interesting to see if the new body sits alright on the older chassis. Or the older body sits alright on the newer chassis.
  22. How easily does TT:120 stuff couple with those couplings? Like if I was shunting at slow speed. Would I need to ram them against the buffers or will they go together quite easily? I'm sure they are much simpler that they look.
  23. My SER model arrived. What a little stunner, certainly free rolling. I mean silky smooth! It will certainly let you know if your track is level :)
  24. Really couldn't decide between SECR grey and southern brown. Then I saw the SER version from rails, bought that while I dither over the others. I think that one will go quicker.
  25. Is the southern M7 37 correct? I thought the lining should be white? Although I know early on it may be different given the E prefix. The first run of which I have one has white lining.
