  1. I went for the Cameo, not had any issues cutting in the middle. I have printed onto inkjet printable self adhesive vinyl with good results. Very slight cockling on more complex shapes but not noticeable once the vinyl is applied. Printing to an inkjet from the silhouette software makes it easy to modify the design with the cutting pattern.
  2. In reply to my question specifically about the club model: "The B4’s are due into us by the end of this month and will be despatched to you as soon as we can after that."
  3. Just fitted my crew. A fiddly job but managed with a pair of reverse tweezers. Trick is to post the figure through the cab opening and then position - they dont fit through the "door space". The doors can be removed with care - they are glued in place.
  4. Waiting for me when I got home from work. Nicely packaged although the sleeve around the packaging was very difficult to remove. FItted a dcc concepts chip and stay alive (a tight squeeze). Runs very well. Next task is to paint the modelu figures.
  5. No one sitting aside barrels but W^D Models have a good range of figures in 1/76 http://www.wdmodels.com/userimages/procart12.htm
  6. A slightly different route is to do your printing on a normal printer. Firstly do your design of tags with numbers and then print to a normal inkjet from your silhouette with the registration marks. Then adjust your original design to have the cut marks only and then pass through your cutter. Have used this successfully to make stickers.
  7. Does anyone know where Oxford sourced the sound for their DCC sound versions? I have been puzzling over the Air Pump sound which randomly plays and have wondered if they used the IOW Adams O2? I dont think thats authentic for the Radial, so trying to work out how to disable it. Any ideas?
  8. Licensing is a smaller pain than it used be as Hattons sell railmaster for just £5
  9. I fitted a TTS to a Bachmann 47 without too many issues. Its a tight fit though for the particular model I fitted it too. For others changing speakers, just to repeat the advice from elsewhere that you should ensure you use an 8 ohm replacement for a TTS decoder (or 2 * 4 ohm wired in series) see here for more knowledgeable advice if needed http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/39510-speaker-ohm-values/
  10. Mine will have to make do with a LBSCR Push Pull Balloon coach. That took me so long to make, I cant see my self doing anything more appropriate for a while
  11. Agree the crane was one of the highlights of the day. The designer, who was on hand, was clearly pleased with his work - and rightly so. Good day out, but marred for me as I had mislaid the LNWR Coal tank I purchased somewhere and I did not notice until I was on my way home. Email sent to the organisers in the hope that someone has been honest.
  12. I have been experimenting with using magnets. I have glued magnets underneath the wagon where the anchor points are above and then glued tiny cylindrical magnets to the end of the chains. The chain is then actually fixed to the tank - the idea being to have interchangeable loads. It works reasonably well, with the magnets being powerful enough to hold the tank, although its fiddly to get the chain length right and to get the chain tension to look realistic. Am undecided whether to pursue it as I want to have several different load types on several wagons for a WW2 layout project that my club is working on. I think I might need something simpler.
  13. I have an Archer from Milicast, which unfortunately remains unbuilt, but I can confirm is well made and a good casting. Requires cleanup, assembly, paint and transfers. Another option to consider is the Armourfast range (https://armourfast.com/). Although 1/72 they are straightforward to build if you want a simple model to build to populate a rake. The Sherman Firefly has a separate component to enable the gun barrel to be properly secured for transportation as per prototype. At around £7 you get 2 kits in each box. My only caveat is that I have not yet checked that they stay "in gauge" on a warwell, being slightly overscale.
  14. Good video! Look forward to seeing your wagons at the club Stephen
  15. I particularly like how the foreground is developing.
  16. As a satisfied customer of two of his LBSCR period kits, it would be sad if no one took up his range.
  17. Well done for being awarded Club Junior modeller yesterday.
  18. I ordered two from different suppliers, so an expired card prevented two radials landing on the door mat.
  19. Johan You can borrow the club static grass applicator - just need to have your own grass. Stephen
  20. Email today from Soundtrax says "Econami decoders with British Engines should be released before summer"
  21. Johan has forgotten his credentials - back soon!
  22. blue grey hst mk3 would do me. I have the Hornby power cars on order and wasn't really happy to buy the Hornby coaches to go with them
  23. Well done Johan, look forwarding to seeing your updated diorama on Saturday at our exhibition
  24. I made the 3D(Oxted) DC Kits which I enjoyed doing (being just within my capabilities). I would thoroughly recommend the replica railways motorised chassis.
