Very nice James!
It's amazing how detailing and paint transforms resin bits.

I vote for an open cab too.

Love it!

Hi drduncan,
If all else fails; the Mainline/Dapol/Hornby 3000 gallon tender body is a fairly nice moulding, especially when the coal heep is removed (sadly, I have to keep it) It will look better on a Comet chassis than my meager effort which can be seen in this thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/84178-kitmasterdapol-city-of-truro-with-Hornby-tender-drive/

Looking good, James!

My guess is that Raven would have kept the GWR livery, since she was built by GWR, sold and then returned.
Why not try something a little different? In 1881 they changed the lining from white/black/white to orange/black/orange and the frame colour from Windsor Brown to Indian Red, but they kept the wheels green. I don't think I've seen a model with this livery, This might not be correct for a saddle tank though.
I looked closer at the picture and, to me, there seems to be lining on the cab and side panel but not on the tank.

Sorry, I didn't take a closer look.

Good luck, bargain hunter!

Thanks for the link, James!

Very impressed with the hand drawn lining!
May I suggest that you invest a few quid in proper brass wire for handrails and such? Your excellent modelling deserves it.

A strip of thin brass sheet should be fairly easy to bend to the proper shape?

Few things are more enjoyable than turning a RTR-model into something different. Your work looks excellent, James!

I agree, If prices for individual models stays moderate, there would be no need for a subscription. It shall be interesting to see how folks will use their bits.

Nice!
I'm very curious about the forthcoming GWR engines in the series. Hopefully, there will be some useful bits from the 28xx and City of Truro, for example.

Excellent!
Have you had time for a test run?

Nice!
They will all look very pretty when you're done with them.

Very nice Cuckoo!
That 1mm and the rest of the work you put in made a big difference! A rake of these wagons pulled by something Indian Red/Green would look really good.

Very nice, Mikkel!
Good to see that I'm not the only one who saves old paint brushes in case they can be used for something else.

Lovely, Mikkel!
The building is full of life even without people, goods and wagons etc.

As good as this looks, it must be right!

Excellent!
I'm planning to do something to the Bachmann Emily when I have finished my Lord of the Isles conversion.

'Boxbrough' sounds pretty good, but perhaps not very cornish?

Bravo!
I like it a lot!
