  1. Seen in our local garden centre - laser cut houses with led illumination - would they be suitable for N gauge continental layouts? (£3.99 each - might get them reduced after Christmas?
  2. Lovely layout - apologies for only just looking at your postings and getting around to commenting Llike you I recently retired and am now hoping to (finally!) build/finish a layout - plan A, is quite small and was started in my late teens and has been "on hold" for 35 years, though in a fit of enthusiasm I've also started a much larger project plan B Anyway - have a look at the SR 1932 Sentinel Steam Railcar (http://www.flickr.com/photos/72791995@N00/5173621749/in/photolist-8TbauZ-6D9P9p-7j6tmw-drBTGh-e7aamU-7vTV9A-bWjSeZ-9JcQSV-btgWhX-9h5umn-drYmrb-e2xT88) - fascinating vehicle which did run on the Westerham line - I will have to re-write history to have one running on my plan B best wishes Richard
  3. - just manage to successfully remove biro ink from our cream leather armchair using precision paints PS18 Super strip.... - the youngest lad was obvious to the consternation he caused..... Might be useful to other out there one day!
  4. Hi Just picked up an SE Finecast LBSC/SR E1 0-6-0 off ebay, with the etched chassis, but no instructions for the chassis - Anyone know what motor and gear set it is designed for? many thanks Richard
  5. Hi, I've just completed the double slip for my layout - constructed using the ply & rivet method - any thoughts as to how you can test this sort of pointwork out prior to fixing it down and installing the turnout operating units? picture at http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/48426-double-slip-for-singleton/ cheers Richard
  6. Thanks David, He's doing a Brighton coach for me at the moment, so I'll ask about the C2X next time I contact him
  7. Talking about settling down to projects, Does anyone have, or can point me in the direction of, a set of drawings for the modified brakegear and spring hangers fitted to the LBSC C2X rebuilds - the relevant parts don't appear to be available as commercial etches, so I need to make some up. many thanks Richard
  8. Retired or not - its snowing, so you won't be able to go anywhere - just settle down at the modelling bench with that project and a nice cup of tea
  9. 21st December 2012 - I have retired today, so hopefully I will finally be able to get on with my layout, provided the Mayans have got it wrong!

  11. Hi, Just found your blog on RM from your other web page - fantastic I'm afraid I lack the imagination to work up convincing models from might-have-been, and stick to trying to build from actual lines, however perhaps your model and my recent holiday on Skye might tempt me to try something different best wishes Richard
