  2. Hi Jeff I thought it was the viaduct was the one on the great harwood line near burnley I forgot about that one it's got a good view from track level wish it was still open Good shots of bacup btw PS it's took me 3 12 hour shifts to read your topic good work Mark
  3. Just an update on 44767 I have toned down the weathering a bit I have as Ozzyo says less is better pics will be on here soon Mark
  4. Them shots look good Jason And when you lot have summer we still have winter here lol
  5. Hi Ozzyo I have pictures of both 44767 and 44765 i have tried to copy where the rust staining and oxide has gone. To be honest I think they might need taking off I will have to see Nice pics Ozzyo i like them when they are weathered shows they are true workhorses Mark
  6. You can ride from the old station to rawtenstall and you can go thought one of the three tunnels at waterfoot I can remember my dad driving though the long tunnel in a landrover series 3 lwb about 26 years ago I was about 5 then lol
  7. And now here are a few more blak 5s as I say I like the stainer locos
  8. Well just a few pics of 44767 weatherd and complete with roller bearing axle boxes on the tender
  9. Jason when are you near bacup next have you done the bike ride to rawtenstall from bacup.
  10. Hi Iain wow that looks good they are an ugly looking black 5 but i do admit i like the black 5's
  11. I am going to do one of them high running plate black 5's one day but I will use plasticard and a rtr black 5 I have a spair caprotti kit from comet I got years ago. Just need to find it first lol but as for 44767 i just need to sort the motion out and tweek it a bit but more pics will come as progress moves on
  12. The reson i used a rtr model is that it has a depth of detail i was going to ues the comet lwb kit and roll my own boiler but and use the gibbson wheels but I didnt want to spend loads of coinage to do the mod. Plus I have about 10 black 5s (yes I can be classed as crazy ) so I could loose one to do the mod on it. The next move after 44767 is to do a caprotti high running plate verson to go with the comet low plate one but thats for a nother day Mark
  13. Well it's been a while and 44767 is still awaiting finishing off ie the brackets and I need to sort the tender now rivits need to be removed lol I am hoping it will be ready for our show (Heywood model railway group ) 16/17th march so I can run that with my comet black 5 and other oddball locos
  14. Hi Jason everytime i see your layout it just gets better i like how you have captured the station well and the feel of bacup good work buddy
  15. Well it's been a while but 44767 had been put to one side while other things have been happening I took 44767 to the club to test and ................. It ran faultless ( first for me ) lol It pulled 8 Bachmann mk1 coaches with ease. I to have Dcc and in time I will put sound in but for the the time being a normal chip is ok Just saw horsetans comment the answer is no I would never be able to do inside motion lol But 44767 has a new tender with roller bearings and a rivited tender pics will come soon Mark
  16. The smokebox numbers are from the fox black 5 range Michael I don't know if they are still doing them I have had them for years They are some brackets still need to be put on but I wanted to test the loco first I will be doing them soon. If you look at the smokebox and the boiler you will see the difference in colour horsetan
  17. Well the loco is getting there slowly just a bit more work to be done then the tender to sort out. I have a rivited tender for it bit in the mean time it will have the plain one for a day or so I have not done the jub yet courageous but that is next on my things to do Here are some pics of 44767 as it stands one on the rolling road and others after weathering
  18. I'm not putting the electric lighting on. my layout is set in around the mid 60s Also I need to tone the smokebox down I need to weather it a bit more same as the cab I will do that when I get home tonight hopefully
  19. I have done a bit more today I am going to weather it when I get chance so I don't need to worry about missing paint. Well today I have put a comet chimney on it ( looks better ) and detailed the body a bit. Lots more to do yet but it's getting there slowly here are some pics
  20. I know about the vac pump horsetan I have a spare one with no mounting that will be on the finished model I noticed it on Sunday when it was to late I will be putting on the brackets today and messing around with it so more pics soon
  21. I still need to do a lot more work on the motion but the main bits are on then I need to start on the body and the tender but hopefully I will be putting more pics onto here
  22. I have cleaned up the motion now and tonight I'm at Daisyfield signalbox ( grabbing a Sunday ) doing the other side I have took my time on this one I have some more pics of the new motion
  23. Here is the side done just need to clean it up. I have moved the reverser back so the drop link is now sloping ( thanks for the advice horsetan ) forward I have tested it and it works Now I need to do the other side more pics will come soon
  24. Hi Jason wow it does come to life with them pics you have done an amazing layout.
  25. It's the the motion screw with a brass plate formed to hold the tube what is soldered to the reverser lever so if I ever need to take it off I can it's a good but of kit when the wheels move and the motion moves aswell I have cleaned it up abit from the pic when I have put the rocker bracket on then I will take some more I have moved the return crank so it's forward now it looks better now a lot better
