Removed a/c

Thanks Craig, I am using a Dynamis (the 1st version without the probox) I am going to do some more trouble shooting tonight trying the decoders in different locos. The decoders I usually use a Bachmann 21pin & 8pin. I have a few of the Hattons ones as well. This is the first ESU decoder I have bought (under the recommendation in the Rapido book !!) This ESU has railcom plus also. I do recall a thread with someone having problems with railcom not working on a Dynamis Ultima system (this is the latest version). THey did not have an APT-E though it was different loco.

So if the decoder is not mapped correctly using another decoder should fix the issue no? and if no then every single DC APT-E should have this problem? I can't recall anyone else mentioning this issue on this thread though.

Hi Yes it is a LokPilot Standard 21PIN 4 function The cab lights work, power car one I get head and tail lights together and nothing on the other end, change direction of travel I get Head lights on PC2 tail lights PC2 as it should be. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed at this point. I have bought 3 decoders now, sent PC1 to Rapido only to be told it is mapping and nothing they can do................APT-E anyone?

Still having issue with the lighting on mine, everything works fine on DC. Rapido says it is a mapping problem and I need to read the decoder manual for that as it beyond their remit of tech help. I have never had to map a decoder before on any of the 40 plus locos I own. Can anyone help with this?

As far as I know the 87 was just stopped for this year. Heljan don't make the 86 anymore (I emailed them and there are no plans to re-release it either) so currently there is no duplication. Back to the 91 as this is really off topic

I would have bought one of the Pullmas but living overseas I do not want to take the chance and having to post it back. I think for my purposes I will look for the Hornby offering.

Thanks hopefully going to get a 21-pin on Sunday, never had so much "trouble" with a loco LOL. I think it isn't my week as I also programmed all my locos as 4468 !!!

I doubt it will be anything new, more than likely just a repaint !

Does anyone have a non-sound APT-E that they have chipped for DCC use? I do, I bought a 8pin DUH !! but it says you can use the adapter which I did. The cab lights did not work, the headlights worked but no the tail lights. I noticed a stray wire so sent PC1 back to Rapido and they repaired it for me very quickly I might add. They tested it and said it worked with a 21 pin decoder, so when I received it I had a 21pin decoder waiting and chipped it. The cab lights still do not work and the headlights come on on one end and on the other end I get head & tail lights at the same time. I am using a Bachmann 21pin decoder with 3 functions. The book says ESU with 4 functions. Hoepfully I will be able to get one of those on Sunday but would it make that much difference........it is only lighting?
