Going off topic sort of. When i worked for maidstone & district bus co. They used 2 or 3 different paint makers one was Parsons carn't remember the rest but the shade of green was not the same . Now did BR use different paint makers as well . If so this might explain the problem with southern green.
going off topic . i would like know if there was a 2bil converted to a sandite, if so this will give me a good reason to have one, as i model in the mid 70's. thanks in advance .
i have used dot 3 and 4 to remove paint . it is very flammable more so then petrol. when i worked in a garage a few time's car's that had been in a big shunt went up in flames as the brake fluid leaked on the hot exhaust . i get rid of my used fluid with my old engine oil at the tip. best thing to do if useing brake fluid is to use it outside.
my local model shop only stocks humbrol now. so it's a round trip of 40 miles to get railmatch. now that the post office will not except paint there is no choice. the problem i have is when i need cherry paint for my model buses .
i have had a problem with humbrol matt brown and matt black not wanting to dry. i used humbrol black acrylic but found that poor. years a go i allways used humbrol paints now i only use railmatch or revell for just basic colours matt black or white.
clive are you going to change the bogies on your deltic ,as the lima one's are HO scale just like there class 50 was. with all that work you have done on the deltic body it would be a shame to have underscale bogies fitted.
what will the DVT'S run with. there is talk they will be working with the class 73's once they have been fitted with a larger engine . or a few class 67's when they come off lease soon .
atlas/corgi have released a crossley DD2 in green. efe leyland titan PD2 . if you look up THE EFE ZONE this will give you a full list of all the buses made in OO scale.
i've worked for main car dealer's in the passed . they had spray can's in the part's dept. worth a try at your local VW dealer . if not they will order it for you.
for me it was a time when my life changed gave up train spotting sold all my models . went out and got a motorbike . going to night club's . then got wed had kid's . started spotting and modeling again in the 1980's when the boy's got older. it was a time i missed out in.
