  1. Is it Precision Labels that does the transfers for stuff like the exPWM Class 97/6? I used to have details, but his site has either changed, or it's not him........
  2. Wouldn't cows be better? Human stuff might look a bit overscale?

    Camden Shed

Ah, right: hence the preserved roundhouse there now? Yet another steam shed I never went to.........easier to list the ones I DID!
  4. The wall, grass, weeds and signs look good...........but I'm unsure about the glue bottle on top of the wall, and hiow can anyone shut gates that aren't there? Only pulling your leg. Now.........about that shed rear: you could have the river/canal, and that odd bridge too.......?? Go on, spoil yourself.
  5. Sounds quite good. Have you ever been to the Gainsborough Model Railway Society's layout? An "O" gauge version of the above, VERY interesting.
  6. Ozzy: were the drawings what you wanted? Sorry Brian........
  7. Would it be fair to say that these haven't been the success they were touted to be?
  8. Now looking at that map, you could shorten it so that the High Street becomes Brayford East, and get the rear of the shed in. Thin of it: anice Metalsmith turntable, computer controlled......... You know you want to........
  9. Loving the B1 photos: last steam loco haulage I got in steam days was "A.Harold Bibby", Barnetby to Scunthorpe. When will he appear on Peterborough?
  10. Another truly amazing model. I am lucky that almost all the ones like that, (Peterborough, York, Lincoln) are all places I went to during the period being modelled. Pity you couldn't have got the old shed in............
  11. Looks like corrosion caused by having different metals in close proximity, the salt (solutions) act as an electrolyte. I've seen it on mountain bikes too, before I wernt to Titanium frames. Then white powdery stuff is metal salts caused by the process, and are what cause alloy/steel interference fits to bind solid. When you put it together again, use something in bewtween like a layer of Copper Slip.
  12. That looks positively dangerous. Thank heavens you aren't another road casualty statistic........
  13. That copper will never catch him, he looks like he's just stepped on a roller skate......
  14. Yes, you can.....I bet even the clock is telling the right time?
  15. I've found a supplier of mesh on e-bay at VERY reasonable prices. It's genuine woven mesh, in brass and comes in sizes suitable for "O" to "N". It's here: http://www.ebay.co.u...sid=p4340.l2562 I have no contact with the supplier, but intend buying some almost scale stuff for "Falcon". His stuff labelled "large" comes out at 2.1 scale inches mesh, (against a true mesh of 2"), and 0.6 inch diameter wire, against a true diameter of 0.25".....the trade-off is for srength, I reckon.
  16. Superb. I keep forgetting to look at this since it became a blog, but it continues to excel.
  17. Great shots, but "Falcon" should be centre stage, she did find her way there regular on passenger workings.
  18. That's pretty good. It gives me some motivation to start with Falcon's cab.
  19. "James Smith, have you tried sucking a Fisherman's friend?" "Don't you think I'm in enough trouble already m'lud?"
  20. Just looked in on this again, some nice work there. I particularly liked the new filler cap in brass. How much was the Brassmasters jig and are they still available?
  21. Ho ho, we believe you. Seriously, I've enjoyed your thread and will look in more often now. What I like: Weathering, Spaciousness, uncluttered. The depot, although I quite liked the other one too. Your choice of locos and eras. Your scratchbuilding and use of other buildings. That footbridge is lovely. I like the PW scene too. What I thought could be better: Weathering on the traverser: the base area would be full of muck and certainly NOT white. The rest of it is great though and a definite plus point, interesting. I have been to loas of depots in France that still have them. The station signs at Marshfield in early photos: their bases are too toy like. Some of the lights are a bit bright. The steelworks needs more pipework:http://www.flickr.com/photos/52386003@N04/5173171336/ http://www.flickr.co...N04/5173100044/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ and don't forget that any long runs have "omega" loops in them for expansion. Also, steelworks are DIRTY!!!! So not much to DISlike really, just niggles. Overall a great layout and I will look in again when you update. Keep up the good work.
  22. Pete tends to blow hot and cold on this, he once told me to "watch this space.........". Now Laurie, who seems to have control, has told me no chance at least twice. I reckon my scratch build will be the only way. I just hope I can make enough parts available for others to follow my build, since quite a few people want one.
