  1. Hugely rewarding to see the end result there Mike and glad we could help. I'm envious! Takes me back to seeing the blue/grey frequently parked up in the clag-filled bay in Manchester Victoria in the 80s.
  2. In further response to this thread, we know a lot of people have been patiently waiting for these, so we're delighted to be able to finally announce that we've started releasing more VIX ferry van packs, including "Through to the Continent by British Rail" variants: "Through To The Continent..." brandings only 4mm-6646: http://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1906 "Through To The Continent..." full detail 4mm-6647: http://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1907 (even the maintenance charts are different!) Renumbering pack 4mm-6650: http://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1908 As others have also noticed, there is a very subtle difference in typeface used in the "Through to the Continent..." branding, which has also been reflected in the packs to give modellers a choice. In time we will also release in other scales.
  3. Remember of course that the choice of primer colour will have a significant impact on the end result. I'm sure it's been well documented elsewhere but if memory serves, you'll see different results depending on whether you use white, grey or red primers.
  4. This won't be a problem at all as we've done numerous others in the past with the end result that it looks like the detail was factory printed! PM us and let us know what you need.
  5. With the kind permission of Andy, below are some of the latest releases from Railtec Transfers, all of which can be found at www.railtec-models.com. We continue to release approx 450 new transfer packs every year and we're still continuously up against an epic backlog of everything you guys are asking for! 4mm-2011 DRS compass mk2 BSO 9521/25 4mm-7612 Esso gas oil tank TTA numbers 4mm-5784 Sligo Leitrim & Northern Counties Railway freight markings 7mm-2719 RTC Lab 9 Hydra 975385 (early RTC livery) 7mm-2762 RTC Test Coach Iris RDB 975010 4mm-1855 Royal Mail Travelling Post Office & NSA numbers 4mm-6770 Early BR Prestwin running numbers 4mm-6772 Early BR Prestwin: Oakamoor 7mm-6487 Snowplough: Early BR 7mm-6486 ZZA snowplough: Railtrack 4mm-45007 Tinsley 45007 TALIESIN 4mm-45033 Tinsley 45033 SIRIUS 2mm-6492 Cleveland Potash branding: plain blue 2mm-7104 PCA: Alcan alumina BAHS55531-73 4mm-1225 Complete loco: TOPS BR blue class 25 4mm-6251 Mainline logos: wagons 4mm-6735 Early BR Strip Coil 1/407 1/403 1/404 1/413 4mm-7105 PCA: Alcan alumina BAHS55531-73 Pack B 4mm-6951 BR TOPE ZCV 21t coal hopper 4mm-47117 Tinsley 47117 SPARROW HAWK 4mm-47123 Tinsley 47123 JAY 4mm-37154 Tinsley 37154 SABRE 4mm-37107 Tinsley 37107 FURY 4mm-37298 Tinsley 37298 VICTOR 4mm-47005 Tinsley 47005 HARRIER 4mm-50050 Laira D400 (50050) 4mm-3320 West Coast Railways coach detailing 4mm-3323 West Coast Railways coach lining
  6. Given that it's now official that the 68 will be released in Saltire livery, it's unlikely we'll push these over the line for the 68 anytime soon. Fact is, much of the artwork is already done anyway as we have the Saltire livery for other vehicle types so it would not have been any hardship to also include the 68. That said, there are plenty of occasions where people ask for transfers to reproduce items which are RTR for a variety of reasons - perhaps the RTR item is no longer available, has an error and is unsuitable (like the latest HST), or just simply those who don't wish to pay full price for an RTR model and prefer to respray their own from a cheap second-hand donor model.
  7. Transfers for the class 68 are imminent. Transfers for the matching mark 2s are already available: http://www.railtec-models.com/catalog.php?search_str=saltire Thanks, Steve
  8. Many thanks Brian, and glad we had what you needed. You would have normally even received them the next day had we not still been down in the depths of Derbyshire after the DEMU show! We're gradually releasing yet more steel packs (as well as cement, departmental, mineral, etc) so hopefully more things will crop up which take your interest. Thanks, Steve
  9. Indeed we do, and these open up numerous possibilities including 156, 158, 170, 380, mk2s (which we already do in this scheme) and class 68s, so if this project were to fly then there's possibly an option there. Over time we'll be releasing packs of this scheme for RTR models anyway, but as ever it's just a case of finding enough hours in each day as I dare say we're probably the busiest company in the modelling industry as we release 450+ new product lines every year!
  10. bullseye have PMed you. The issue looks specific to yourself. The site does get very busy particularly with us releasing 30+ new packs every month!
  11. Have PMed you both Hearts and JBM. Thanks, Steve
  12. Indeed we can do yes. Please feel free to PM us and we can take it from there. Thanks, Steve
  13. Should be Jon as there have been a few orders this eve and a few people on it right now. Try it and PM me if any problems.
  14. There's a photo in Tourret on p146 which seems to indicate the earlier 4-digit variant with the yellow plate (I seem to recall seeing others as well, perhaps Larkin). Always open to be shown otherwise however, and if something needs to change then we'll change it.
  15. Here you go folks. We've replaced the LUBE OIL markings with the perhaps more useful yellow disc wagon IDs as applied to the solebar. We thought we should before someone picked us up on it, because somebody would have A short run of these has just been printed this afternoon and so they are available now. We'll refrain from posting a direct link to the product here but they can be found on our web site, a general link benig found in the signature. We're on that many forums that the finer details of the T&Cs do get muddy for us!
  16. We could have them very very quickly. One after-thought we had was replacing the LUBE OIL markings with the wagon number plates (i.e. the oval yellow disc). Thoughts?
  17. As it appears that there is a demand for just numbers, we've designed the would-be pack below which is sufficient to (re/)number 7 x 35t B tanks in the diag 6/002 series, so that's running numbers (4)3301 thru (4)3963. In an attempt to achieve added realism the pack includes the earlier as-built font and the later BR influenced variant, most noticeable on the angled 3s. If you look closely there are also some instances where there are slight differences in the leading 4 to denote that this was simply added to the existing number at a later date. Also included are LUBE OIL / LUBE TRAFFIC ONLY. For those just requiring the 3nnn numbers, the intent is that you can just cut off the leading 4. Would this pack help to begin with? We can look at the markings (and numbers) specific to the Molasses variants next.
  18. Thanks Brian! Glad you pointed this out.
  19. Hope this is ok with the Moderators! Hi Bob, there are 7mm sheets available for both the VAA and OAA. In an attempt to try to stay on the right side of forum etiquette we won't post a link, but simply say that they can be found on the web site (link should be in the signature). As for the B tanks, these are coming. We're looking at numbers in the 33nn and 35nn ranges, as well as the Molasses.
  20. We're getting there Jon. We could never have predicted the absolute sheer volume and diversity of transfers that we get asked to make, which is why we're still often working into the small hours most days (in fact we're regularly working literally 15-16 hour days). The nice challenge we have is that it's a physical impossibility to get to every piece of work as quickly as we'd like, but we will get there. Hopefully we've whetted some appetites with the early BR version, and certainly a few of those have shifted already.
  21. Always happy to help. Here are a couple of shots from August 2008 which show the markings in perhaps slightly better condition. Sc5212 was in a difficult position to get any kind of decent shot, but the position of the markings can clearly be seen in Sc5193. If you need transfers for these, just let us know. We'd make sure to include the actual vehicle end markings for added authenticity as well.
  22. We've got photos of a couple of these vehicles in the late 2000s at Tyseley which we can dig out and share where the numbers and names are still visible. Obviously they are faded by this point but they still retain their original markings (which is what we used when making the transfer set). There have, over the years, also been other photos of these vehicles around the web but like Phil mentions, they are few and far between.
  23. Oh wow! We hadn't seen these. Absolutely love them. Sincere thanks for sharing Paul; it's always rewarding to see end results like this.
  24. Many thanks Paul; more than happy to help. As ever, if there's anything else you need then please let us know via PM here or the web site which will generate a ticket ID (easier for us to keep track of then!). All the best to you, Steve
