  1. Bulleid coaches, never saw that coming well they will look nice being pulled by a Dapol west country

  2. Trying to think how to modify my Dapol 45xx to use Easi couplings. Think's I've nearly cracked it but it may be hit and miss

  3. Tried Dapol Easi couplings today apart 2 lost springs when attempting to add superglue to coupling to secure the springs which were lost.

These were probably the smallest spring seen by mankind. They make the Kadee ones look massive. The problem wouldn't be so bad if they were actually attached the coupling rather than loose in the packaging.

  4. May try and install some of the new Dapol couplings today

  5. N Gauge Society members book has arrived. Now to compile a shopping list of wagons.

  6. In Wales, an unfamiliar terriotory for a Southern Region person. Still my hotel is 400 m away from a railway.

Heard there was a station in town, would be interesting to see what may be running on the line. If the course I'm on finishes early I may take a trip into Barry to see what is there

  8. Joined the N gauge society, so my work bench maybe busy with some some kits soon

  9. Well, a nice flight over the Somerset and Dorset today in a lynx, boy was it cold but some lovely views shame the aircraft failed it's air test otherwise a bit more sightseeing could of been done.

Just the engine mountings were vibrating too much for the measuring instruments. Plus one of the engines wasn't supplying enough fuel. But on the plus side we fixed a problems with the driveshaft.

  10. Think it's time to detail a level crossing, now to find my paint brushes

  11. Very nice layout there. I'm impressed with backscene it flows so nicely. It's also nice to see some Western region Hydraulics weathered so nicely.
  12. Working out what to use to strip a Farish mark 1 coach side. Plans to put replacement sides on and don't want to damage the glazing

  13. Looking forward to the Southampton Model Rail show. Already making a small shopping list, hopefully I will see some nice layouts and get a few ideas.

  14. I believe that someone has actually posted the whole film on Youtube, if you search for it on there you'll also find several clips of places where the Titfield Thunderbolt was filmed in present day.
  15. there was an article a few years ago in BRM about a Tower models 14XX a customer had ordered and wanted in the colours of the locomotive in the film. This included several black and white photos of the locomotive whilst filming was carried out. The finished locomotive was a very grimy green if I remember rightly but don't quote me on that with with a light shade covering the GWR lettering. Hopefully this can be some help maybe someone knows which issue this article was in. Failing that you could alsways use the Mainly Trains detailing set for the 14xx and use reference photos for the correct top feed.
  16. At last seeing the end in sight for my Ratio Van B. Found a nice green from the Games workshop and windows are now finished with etched grills and glazing , just need to letter the van and some weathering.

  17. Simple design and a lovely layout. quite impressed too how much detail can be captured in such a small space. Impressed with the use of colours on this layout.
  18. very nicely done. It's a nice simple design and not overly complex. The station does have that north cornwall look about it. Also impressed with the backscene and building applied to it. Hopefully not too long till we see more pictures of this layout. The question is when will a Bachmann n class make an appearance on tis wonderful layout as the were perfectly at home on a line like this?
  19. Planning a day of painiting my OO gauge layout , and tidy it up alot. I posted a few pics and when I looked at them later I thought I can do much better than this, it looked so tatty.

  24. Well, planning to spend a few hours painting some Kestrel buildings, they look quite good after a bit of work and tidying up.

  25. Washing machine is fixed, but won't be able to do much modelling as I've blistered my thumb which fitting a retaining spring clip, so won't be able to hold a paint brush too well.

This could be the excuse to run in some of my locomotives and test some track and may even take some photos of my little layouts progress.
