  1. Hi Paul looking forward to regular updates on the project.
  2. excellent job. thanks to all who made it possible. Normally I look forward to Sunday close down but not this time which say a lot!
  3. The Shunter you pointed to also has the map on the cab door sheet. I am no expert but the UD company started out from the Wilts United Dairies and expanded across the country I believe. The Ruston Loco is stated to be under restoration at Telford so perhaps someone there could have a look on the bodywork for remnants of the original paintwork which I am thinking/hoping was orange.
  4. Now competing head to head with Hornby again. Hornby flyer today L&MR OPEN THIRD CLASS CARRIAGE We are pleased to announce the introduction of the L&MR, Open Third Class Carriage. Researched, designed and tooled at the same time as Hornby’s centenary Stephenson’s Rocket and coaches, the finely detailed period railway carriage makes a perfect addition to the assembled rake. As with the 1st Class coaches, the finely detailed 3rd Class open topped railway carriage features etched brass components and separately fitted parts, all of which adds a fidelity to the model that perfectly complements the exquisite finesse associated with the previously released Stephenson’s Rocket and coaches.
  5. casting my mind right back all the road vehicles from horse drawn floats right up to tankers were liveried in orange and white with white lettering so could this 6-wheeled MT, possibly a one off, have also been painted orange? Just a thought
  6. is this the same livery perhaps.
  7. Changing the topic off pronunciation and back to tanks. Can anyone here tell me what this livery is, (apologies if this has been raised before).
  8. as this is about the only bit of line I travel on these days (Barn to EX) I look forward to seeing the progression stages. Good luck with the whole project and embrace the full scenic possibilities of 'N' Not enough N scale representation on RMWeb for my liking so the more the merrier. Regards Maurice
  9. are these any good https://www.redbubble.com/i/sticker/Danger-Overhead-Live-Wires-OHL-by-Kirwindesign/49927674.EJUG5 regards Maurice
  10. R3721 arrived in stock today Beautiful---enjoy https://www.osbornsmodels.com/r3721-Hornby-gwr-class-61xx-large-prairie-2-6-2t-6110---era-3-49261-p.asp
  11. R3810 arrived in stock today Enjoy Maurice
  12. I have to disagree with the Stationamster. detail is obviously important but this is N scale and it will be impossible to satisfy every variation. The market is limited compared to OO. I wish them every success and to not be put off, or sidetracked, by endless variation. Optional Chimneys yes, but the rest left to best optimise the tooling before somebody else takes up the gauntlet. Maurice
  13. For me the most interesting points in the report are Lynton Davies' comments in KPI No.1: Capital Expenditure Productivity Having spent £2.4m on tools last year particularly this comment "but this is a good example of how we are focusing the business on "return on investment", sweat those assets!
  14. We use Meths (2 Form 2 and 1 Form 3 printers on the go constantly). We pay £13.54 ex VAT per 5 L collected from Mole Valley Farmers, (other Agricultural suppliers are available). http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/search/go?w=methylated+spirit We use a 2 stage wash and filter resin from the final rinse to re-use in the first rinse process. Curing by UV heated chamber. Regards Maurice Osborns Models ltd.
  15. I should have said how nice they look --------sorry
  16. what we really need are some N gauge ones !
  17. 2 hours ago, newbryford said: I hope that no-one has a layout with a statue of Dave on...……… Sounds like a possible 3D print project. What scale? Pre defaced and weathered?
  18. View from the other end this time with a modified Modelscene cow.
  19. over 20 years old now but I still like this old Coopercraft Cattle Wagon kit. Shame they are not still available. Not my usual scale though. Far too big
  20. As reported earlier from 'another place' Both in 4mm, they are understood to be the Southern Region Class 71 electric and Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST steam locomotive. These IP rights were sold by the liquidators on 15 January 2020 for £2,300. Agents were used to provide a valuation of the IP. so it wasn't for the Shark and King then that the £2300 was paid over to the Liquidators .
  21. I remember seeing a 43xx on an Up Goods de-railed by the trap point just on the North Side of the roadbridge. Cant remember the year but would have been between 1958 and 1964 when I had to travel the line daily, Didcot to Oxford, to and from School. Happy days -----------------------sometimes.
  22. PL-10W to be discontinued by Peco (recent distributor advice note) "When introduced, the PL-10W and PL-10WE motors were targeted at the continental market, where traditionally analogue transformers were rated with less amps than those available in the UK. But in actual fact there was very little difference between the original motors, and the newer "W" versions. With the introduction of DCC it was also perceived that the "W" versions were preferable. Over the years we have carried out testing with numerous DCC systems and found that in reality the standard PL-10 is more powerful. So in order to simplify the number of motors available we have decided to drop the PL-10W and PL-10WE from the range permanently. "
  23. I seem to recall seeing them in pairs waiting in the middle road at Oxford before going to Swindon via Didcot west curve. I am pretty sure it was on a Wednesday afternoon that I would see them but it could have been on Saturdays. ( whilst catching the train from Oxford (School) to Didcot (Home).
