  1. If someone produces a new GWR Autocoach, I hope they make one that's different from what's currently avaiable. Something like the A32, A32 or A34 (GWR) or A41 or A42 and A43 or A44 (BR(WR)).
  2. Whaaa...? You can't blame the cars for the way the Chinese generate their electricity.
  3. There's a lovely picture of a 64xx with 3 autocoaches arriving at Abercynon with lots of passengers visible in the first autocoach, on page 284 of John Lewis's second volume of autotrailers. It seems to me that we don't need more auto-fitted locos, but more autotrailers.
  4. Well, it is a testing process that I'm going through. Oh no, I've posted it in the wrong place. It shoould be in the Test Area!
  5. This time "following" wasn't turned off. The only difference was that I didn't switch off "Notify me of replies" at the bottom of the message-composition box. What does "notify me of replies" mean? I do not want to be sent a message when a reply is posted, but I want to follow the thread and for new messages to appear when I display my unread messages.
  6. Once again "following" was turned off
  7. The previous reply turned my following status off. It was started by clicking the Quote button in the post that is quoted. This reply was started by typing in the box at the bottom of the page. "Notify me of replies" was turned off.
  8. When I post a new message to a topic that I am following, my following status is turned off. How this happens I don't know. I am using this topic to test it.
  9. Yes there are. Look at H4-4C12-401 4 wheel composite (1st/2nd) 2062 in SECR livery
  10. No date is mentioned. If it helps, the loco is in the fully lined-out SECR livery, and the coaches are in very clean SECR livery. So I expect the date is in the early 1900s.
  11. I've just been having another shufti through my Railways of Beckenham book (well I would, coz it's local, innit?) and there is this wonderful picture on page 139 of a 4-wheel 3-compartment brake third. It looks just like the Hatton's 4-wheel brake coach as far as the passenger accommodation is concerned, but there is no ducket for the guard, and -- wait for it -- a birdcage on the roof. It is close-coupled to a coach, the first compartment of which has a big 2 on the door. [The book is Andrew Hajducki, The Railways of Beckenham, The Ardgour Press in association with Noodle Books, 2011, ISBN 9781906419592.]
  12. If you are a real geek you should know what it means already.
  13. What ignore function? I want to read this thread, but I don't want to read the arguments ovrr LNER coach colours. How can I set up an ignore function to let me do that?
  14. I am getting rather fed up with this arguing about the colours of LNER carriages. To me it is not relevant in this thread; and if people want to continue it they should set up a new thread with an appropriate title.
  15. But the SE Finecast kit will still be there when the rtr version has sold out.
  16. That argument won't work, or Electrostar EMUs would be widely available already.
  17. Why can't the speaker be put below the chimney?
  18. There are none so blind as those who will not see. Who drives the trains in EM and P4? When a train stops in your station, how do the passengers get in and out of the carriages? I could go on listing more and more compromises, but I would much rather play with my OO train-set, which gives me great pleasure as an impression of a raiway in 1:76.2 (or thereabouts) size.
  19. Ratio's GWR 4-wheelers have two chassis lengths. It is possible that the 5-compartment S9, being on the longer chassis, was built as a 6-wheeler, with the middle axle being removed later.
  20. There is a wonderful picture of at least eleven 4-wheel thirds with a 6-wheel brake third in SECR livery (various degrees of cleanliness) at Orpington on pages 20-21 of John Arkell's Private Owner Wagons of the South-East (Lightmoor Press, 2016). To @Hattons Dave: Have you thought of making a 4-pack of the same vehicle? I'm particularly thinking of the 4-wheel thirds, but others may be suitable too.
  21. Who's going to be the first to repaint some in Network SouthEast livery?
