  1. Another job done added sound to my U18B, crank up the volume!!!
  2. The trouble with the retailers in the UK, (which are getting fewer) non of them stock the details American modeller need, switch stands ,derails, loco detailing parts etc, there more into the big buck things like loco and freight cars, i called in at Mechs models last week as i was in the area, he had plenty of Tichy windows and Walthers kits, a few freight cars and a dozen or so £300+ SD what ever, but not a lot else, a bit pricey, but that's the way American stuff seems to be going. Good look with your search, i've been modelling American for a long time and have learned to adapt, like using 4mm brick instead of trying to find 3.5mm sheets, i use a lot of OO detailing stuff in my builds, never had anyone say it's out of scale at exhibitions (they will now) it's the overall illusion where after. I use a lot of card and brick paper with good effect, free downloads of the web, resized Scale scenes, have a look around the web there plenty stuff out there for free.
  3. Glad i could help, i'm not a big lover of QSI decoders myself, had a few loco's with there decoders in, i either sold them or changed the decoder
  4. try double click f6 could be in sleep mode or try a factory reset, does the QSI decoder have a wand, some time the reed switch sticks
  5. Had the same problem, was going to give the new ballast a dark wash, but instead laid a few old ties about, as if they had replaced and topped the ballast up, may still tone it down!

  13. The bike spoke goes from front fascia to the switch, points are between 6-8" from the front edge and as the bike spokes i have are 12", just cut to length.
  14. 2 steps forward,1 step back After months of testing, i've decided to replace the servos operating my turnouts, they worked ok 99% of the time ,but i had that "what if" moment in the back of my mind, so back to the tried and test bike spoke, which has never fail me (famous last words) in the past. Also got the last of the stock 2 more Guilford box cars, just a couple of small jobs to do and were ready for when the exhibitions start up again.
  15. Highball graphics ship to UK, at reasonable prices https://highballgraphics.com/
  16. just tried my Peckett which i think has a R8249 in, on Programme track ,f8, DIR,ADR PUT #8720 in, worked, but when i came to change it back to #4,error 02, only way i could change number was a factory reset, try a reset then add your number
  17. think your going to have to do cv29,then cv17,18,if that's how i read the instruction, cv1 only excepts #1-127,try putting a 2 digit number ie 87,if it works you'll have to go down the cv29 route file:///C:/Users/Ray/Downloads/R8249-Locomotive-Decoder-Leaflet%20(2).pdf
  18. I'm taking it, by all the question you don't have a manual for the lenz 100. use page mode same as cv mode page 55 https://www.dccconcepts.com/manual/lenz-owners-manual-lh100-throttle-handset/
