  1. Nice to meet up today with Snow white and the seven dwarfs, sneezy, grumpy, dirty and bashfull etc. Layout looked good, magnet looked better in road, but to be honest at the height of the layout and distance from the paying public, you'ed have been lucky to see it!!! The only thing i couldn't work out was which part of New England it was,at one time there were loco's from SF,Conrail and a NH!!!!(i'm sure someone got photo's) I'm sure it happen at some time and look forward to the next incantation New England 2020 the future!!!! Hope John G got all those cars weathered(dirty) and him a Nick went Dutch!!!! Keep up the good work Chris and don't forget, it's your layout and it's suppose to be FUN!!!!!! Ray p.s Hope mister Grumpy has found something on the menu!!!!!!!!
  2. Mick at coastal dcc, did me a loksound select direct, for my Atlas RS1(new version),just finished fitting it, sounds superb, better sound and motor control than soundtraxx, just needs a bit of fine tuning on my mates decder pro. Will do a video when sorted. Ray
  3. Highpeak, This is the sign i used, the layout is based in mid/late 60's and thought there would still be some knocking about on the minor roads in most cities. Ray
  4. Bingo!!,you win the coconut,it's a yellow stop sign (think they were used till the late fifties, before they went red) Cats name, galore,(think 60's james bond) Ray
  5. Ian You missed the first line should have went to specsavers!!!!!!!!!! Ray
  6. Put the last of the detail on 59th,can you spot the difference(answers on a pos......) I've also added a tree, this is something i've fancied for a while, looking at all Jon's trees last weekend, give me that push i needed. The tree's a good hiding place for the local predators, you can just see the Kite sitting on the top branches, and the white cat crouching on the lower branch, probably looking at the same rat!!. Probably a lot of the small details like that will be missed by the majority of punters at exhibitions,as most just fly by(just another Americ....)but if one or two stop and ask question it's all been worth it. Only thing i may do is a couple of manhole covers in the road and a storm gate at the edge of the pavement. Hope you've all enjoyed the journey on the construction of 59th and Rust,i've enjoy building it,now its the fun part exhibiting it,invites are coming in,so you may see it in your part of the country sometime(i hope) it's out this weekend at my local show,Workington, the last this year,i'll be doing 5-6 next year so look out for me. Thank you to all those who help me on the way,and for all the kind comments. Ray p.s i can start on the next journey now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Hi all Thinking of adding some old road markings on Rust st. Would such a small street have them, if so what would they look like and what colour would they be,also would i need crossing bucks Ray
  10. Hi guys, done another video (not much better) this time it's the PC local todays local is to long for the loop at the end of the branch,so they have to split the train the other side of Rust st. Don't know what the clicking sound is,sounds like point motors, but i don't have them on this layout,it could be me taking the tops of beer bottles!!! still a lot to learn with this video lark, don't even know if it's loaded here right!!! Ray P.S can you see where i didn't edit it or is it a false coupling!!!
  11. Deja vu,i think i gave the same answer last time. My dad said this would happen once i past 21, just a couple of years to go(bu**er i've forgot Roundhouse posted a picture of me,i'm just over 21!!!) it woun't creep up on me i've creaky floor boards!!! Ray
  12. Pete I've a 15 minute sound track that just loops, there's only 2 police sirens and 2 fire sirens, trouble is while moving the camara and setting up the shot, the sound keeps on looping thats why it's seems a busy place(also there's a police department on 59th street ) Glad you like the video, going to play about a bit more with the camara, before i do another (PC local). Ray p.s the've just had a delivery of new pallets!!!

  14. i've done a video of the Erie local switching 2 boxcars,it hasn't come out to bad, still a bit to learn about this video lark, trying to keep it in focus is the worst bit,see what you think!!!!!!!! The S4 seems loud but it's turned down to 110,you can hear the background noises just!!!! it took me about 25 mins to switch these 2 boxcars, edited a bit out to save time, like i said still a lot to learn, but its a start!! Ray

  22. Thanks to Roundhouse my cover is blown, and thanks to everyone for the kind remarks,it's much appreciated. Everything went ok,only problems was during setup on friday night, my Lenz set through a wobbly, but i got it sorted thanks to Kev. Got a lot of flattering remarks about the layout, and a couple of people asking how i did this and that, most people said the background sound just finished the layout off (when you could here it stuck between to stands playing dvd's on full volume, which drowned the whole corner where i was situated) also really chuffed that i got a invite to York exhibition, been trying for years to get a invite. Just a bit of coupling fine tuning and my buddy who helps me needs to have a few more practise nights to work out the best moves when switching. All in all a good weekend, and happy with the layout performance overall, next outing is my own show at Workington in November. Ray P.S Like the video Ian,might have a go at that myself.
