  1. Beautiful wagons that James “The Legend” Makin has truly brought to life. Stunning work (especially the bashed up covers/hoods).
  2. Well long time no update. Been doing loads of tinkering/painting/modelling but just not bothered to upload anything on here. Anyway here is the first update and I will at some point gain the interest to update all the list pictures from the great picture outage. Finally collected all the RES coaches and loco I wanted to make a train from my youth. Remember seeing the RES trains on trips from Cornwall to Manchester and always had a plan to recreate one. 47745 and 9x coach rake. 31601 in Wessex maroon livery nice and dirty was one I always fancied doing and finally got round to it. WCRC 47832 is a nice oddball 47 with lots of bespoke details to be wary of. I used the latest Bachmann 47 as the base model. Really impressive model and I now have 3 of them. It’s not quite finished just needing a multi working socket at each end when I stumble upon some. I have done a couple of 67007 and have a couple more to do (one for me to keep). Really love the livery and especially poignant after recent events. She will be remembered on the layout in 67007. Finally 37884 which was not planned for the layout as I have accurascale 37608 on order. Anyway it’s here now and I love it. More soon.
  3. Nice touch by someone on flightradar24. The aircraft has just finished the letter 30 seconds ago.
  4. Cracking work Jerry. A man after my own heart. Love 66769 and have one to do for myself. The loco and transfers have been waiting on the to do pile, I might have to crack on with it now, after seeing your completed one.
  5. Looking fantastic Fran. Bring on my 37608 arriving with me.
  6. I’m going for futuristic ROG green/blue livery like the artist render of the forthcoming class 93.
  7. I assume you means these bits. I think they are vortex generators to tumble the air. Not sure why they are around the tail though. Normally seen on wings at the trailing (none moving) section.
  8. Nice one. I nearly put, I’m sure you already have it covered.
  9. Question for Accurascale: Just looking at 37402 and wondering whether I really need to pre-order a 5th Accurascale 37! Anyway I notice your model has oval buffers at both ends (also mentioned in the description) whereas the real loco has oval at number one and squared off at number 2 end. Thought I should let you know (I have had a good look on Flickr both 2022 and also 2018 pictures.
  10. I have just decided to do a repaint of 31454 in Intercity livery and I have the same problem. I already had the Fox sheet with 3 different sizes but as mentioned above the smallest is still far too big. I don’t know if the wording would be the same size for 31 and 37 but similar for sure. Hopefully someone will reply and give us a direction to look in.
  11. It's not the asking, it's the hallucinogenic " I want one so everyone must " mindset that you also seem to have. Just because you want 1980’s highland 37’s doesn’t mean we all do!
  12. You don’t! Ha. If you don’t ask you don’t get Rob. Quite frankly though, they could release any running number in any livery and it would sell.
  13. Can’t wait for my 4x 37’s I have on order to arrive but……. Really looking forward to/wishing accurascale to announce 37219 in its current Colas guise with nose adornments and detachable Rila equipment. Sounds like the perfect Accurascale exclusive model to me. Just put me down for one and bill me. Ha. My fingers are crossed.
  14. Can’t wait to receive mine and make them mucky like @Melangoose (great job). Sadly DHL are taking the proverbial and have failed to deliver 2 days straight. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
  15. Went Fairford yesterday to see some aircraft arrivals. Had a great time and it was pretty busy. Also managed to see the full displays of the Black Eagles (very impressive and imaginative) and the Frecce Tricolori. Anyway a few pics:
  16. I have plenty of pics of Fairford arrivals from today. Will upload some tomorrow.
  17. Graham/Fran, I use the instanter couplings on my PCA rake which I received at least a couple of years ago and they work flawlessly on my double layer dual helix layout. Even better than that is that I have never had a derailment with these wagons full stop (only PCA and JSA rakes have that honour). Hopefully they should be fine and I’m hoping my CDA’s will be running with the 3 links. Andy
  18. Basically I have done a few in the style you suggest. Pour some glue out and using a cocktail stick dab a few blobs neatly in the appropriate places. I did corners, one extra blob on shorter lengths and 2 on longer bits. Position grill and then I Tamiya masking taped them in position and left for 24 hours ish. Worked a treat numerous times.
  19. Thread to record photos of the class 69’s out and about on the network. Starting with 69002 and 69005 together approaching Goring on 04/07/22. Dragging a 4 car Swift parcels unit with a pair of Arlington barrier coaches. Thrilled to see 69002 as I made a model of it last year.
  20. Your first line says it all. Nothing to do with the Hattons 66 so shouldn’t be in this thread! End.
  21. Bit of an odd one that as they aren’t sealed as such from the factory. No one would ever know if Hattons had taken a new one out the box fur testing. They have started sending second hand items shrink wrapped in cellophane so they can tell if the recipient has opened the box.
  22. That’s amazing to think of the years apart and for it still to be possible to take the same picture 57 years later. Great memories for you. I have a similar pair of pictures. As a little boy of 10 I visited RAF St Mawgan for a school trip and we looked around and had a photo with Nimrod MR2 XW231. Fast forward to 2009, now an Aircraft Engineer in the RAF I found myself working on Nimrod XW231 at RAF Kinloss and I had the same photo taken. A mere 20 years had passed in my case but still amazing. Even better was that XW231 was retired to Manchester airport viewing area (where I was born) and is still there now.
  23. Received my triple and single weathered packs to run with my 10 Revolution tanks. They run great straight out the box with no issues. Very pleased with the factory applied weathered effect and as I was already tinkering with bits on the workbench I decided to crack straight on and get them weathered fully before taking them to the layout. Really pleased how they came out and the detail shines through. Good job well done by Cav and Alex.
