  1. On that note I have a few times recently heard the heavy drone of interesting turboprops over South Oxfordshire (could have been an A400M as they make a fairly unique sound). It was though, each time either an AN-26 or AN-12 flying from Birmingham to somewhere. They really do drone compared to western turboprops.
  2. 60028 just after passing Cholsey heading from Oxford Banbury Road sidings to Willesden on 10/05/22. Looking and sounding great.
  3. Cracking work as always Jerry. Do tell where the most excellent looking passengers came from (lovely painting of them if you did it btw).
  4. I have done the above on my 12x IIA and also 14x short HYA. Easy and quick to do and solves the problem.
  5. If I don’t get to see it in the flesh then that will be sad. The cost of fuel (and lack of it) is getting silly for a car let alone multiple 44 ton HGV’s. As for the comments about trivial details you should take it as a compliment that people had to drop that far down to find fault. Your layout is fantastic and the sheer cost to get to where you have must be staggering, well done to you and ignore the naysayers (RMweb has a great number of them).
  6. Well my rake of 12 have arrived and they are everything I was hoping for. Great packaging as per the other Accurascale products I already have, heavy and with bags of detail, flawless finish and great livery application. Tail light and wand are amazing and work a treat (no batteries are included). My second tail light wagon (two tail light packs so I can have one at each end) had the lamp loose in the box but easy fix. Stunning all round and can’t wait for my rake of short HYA hoppers to arrive now. Massive well done to Accurascale.
  7. Absolutely stunning. Accurascale pushing the boundaries again. Cannot wait for 301 to arrive with me later in the year (along with the others). You really are costing me a fortune.
  8. I thought I should mention that on the new Bachmann 47 you can turn off the lights at either end of the loco. So if running top and tail (very common nowadays) you have the ability to turn off tail lights on lead loco but more interestingly you can turn off headlights on trailing loco. This I haven’t seen on any model before. You can also leave the loco idling but power the motor, again a great feature for top and tailing just like on a WCRC charter rake.
  9. So wanting to finish my 47828 and not having any multi working sockets I just made my own. Finished article seen below. Also finish off a half started of project of 47832 in WCRC Maroon. An interesting one with quite a few details needing sorting, including: flush head code panels at both ends, filled side steps and stainless radiator grill covers (still needs another low mounted nose socket when I find one).. This will go into the WCRC pool of locos I have to haul the nearly finished coach rake. Locos include: 31128, 33012, 33207, 47828, 47832, 57601 and 44871 (Black 5).
  10. I think if you start with a Bachmann maroon coach you will need to change the bogies to the ones pictured above (not sure on the bogie names tbh, commonwealth?).
  11. I’m certain I could fill it, (pretty sure you can as well). Look forward to seeing the layout again at some point.
  12. Not sure if they are exactly the same but certain they would do the job nicely.
  13. So I have all but finished the new Bachmann 47828 deluxe as per its condition today. Only but not done is the multiple working connectors on each tablet panel, (not sure where these are coming from yet so feel to suggest somewhere to source them from). There are a couple very minor bits that I am not doing. What I have done is: Body off and weather fans and pipework seen through the body side windows. Also a driver painted in his viz fitted at each end. Body has had side steps filled and paint touched in. Kickplates below doors painted on. One of the noses has had the light lenses removed, white paint taken off and the surrounds painted yellow. Warning flashes changed for modern items. The chassis has had all details fitted (number 2 end only fitted what won’t foul the coupling). The wheels have been painted and slip marked added. Bogies have been detailed as required. Buffer shanks painted silver and then I have hand and airbrush weathered. It’s looks great but I had to do the body a little more than I would have liked to blend in the filled footsteps. mall in all a huge amount of work for a loco that hasn’t even been repainted Anyway I hope you like, I love it and can’t wait to give it a proper run on Badgers Cross 2.
  14. Steve not pestering but: Are you any closer to releasing the OO gauge transfers for 66769 in the latest GBRF black livery? Thanks and I know you are busy.
  15. Very easy and absolutely worth the effort. Totally changes the look of the front end of a Bachmann 66 or 57 (the 2 classes I have done). The instructions for them can be a little confusing despite looking very thorough but you can work it out. I will add the 57 (delner 57/3) is a bit more involved.
  16. Chris thanks for the offer (I’m very keen). Sadly I won’t be at Doncaster though. Would be good to meet you and see your layout. Have a great weekend operating. Andy
  17. Was hoping you would step in with the facts Jo (the horses mouth so to speak).
  18. For me the glazing falling out doesn’t even register, mainly because I always take everything apart. I can see it as an issue for most people though. I have noticed the matching headcode lights. Not sure what to do about that at the minute but may remove the white paint which will look a lot closer.
  19. My Intercity Deluxe has arrived. Opened and tested on DC. First impressions are that it is very heavy, really well detailed and that it runs and sounds very good (DC OO my tested for the minute). Small video and picture below. Couple of instant issues were a grey blob of something hard on the bottom edge of the paintwork (scratch off with a knife blade easy enough but wouldn’t remove with a finger nail). Secondly the windscreen just fell out whilst it was idling on the DC test track. Whilst that doesn’t bother me it’s not great on a very expensive loco that most people will be afraid to take apart. I on the other hand have already ripped it apart, driver being painted and fitted this afternoon, filling of body side steps commenced, removal of old style warning flashes and general modernise of the loco to 2022 condition. I am also painting out the pickups, detailing the number one end and starting the weathering. If I can’t easily match the paint on the filled body side steps then I will repaint it at some point. To summarise, beautifully detailed and executed. Sounds awesome, very heavy, windscreens do look very good and the fans action for me looks really good. I would say that it’s worth the money.
  20. The 69 is looking great. Especially impressed with the roof fans (an area where my 69 model was compromised). Where did they come from/who makes them? Andy
  21. Thanks Jules. Plates are 3d transfers from Railtec transfers and the numbers I had which were from Rainbow Railways. I assume Steve (Railtec) does the numbers as well though. Andy
  22. Nothing to do with noise or pressure. It’s because you have a frameless door (my coupe is the same). It’s so the glass pushes into the seal after the door is shut preventing the glass from being held off its correct position by the seal.
