    Here is the recent progress. Seats are made out of some gelcoat I had no other use for, interior is 20 thou plastic card top view. side view and the foot boards have fallen off. A couple of Airfix 2Ds are reserved for this coach and I will need a Bachmann or someone else BG as a NEA

    Trying to create less threads I am going to post into one. I have 4 modelling locations, usually dining room as I can use the computer and see the TV. My current jobs are completing a DC Kits 128 and my Bar Car E1883 I am 80% through the Bar Car, I will take a picture tomorrow and upload it. Currently doing the insides, I made a load of seats and it is not too bad. This is it before I stripped and resprayed.

    To be honest I like the plain backgrounds where it was a mess before, the pale blue or white instead of beer bellies is an improvement. There have been pictures in the press recently which were too processed. I just want a good clear, well focused and exposed picture which show the layout off to its best. I will admit I prefer the darker GB picture as well, but all of the pictures were good.

    With the price of RTR shooting up higher and higher, I think the lure of a kit is returning, as you also get the fun of making rather than just buying. I get more pleasure making a cheap but more or less accurate model look good, than just buying the best ready made. I am happier also to saw lumps out of cheaper models!

    It may be worth using letraset or printing them on ink jet waterslide paper, or even laser compatable waterslide paper

    Went to the local model shop, on the way out a friend of my wife spotted our car (pale blue Discovery) as they returned to their industrial unit. So I turned around and followed them back. My wife was chatting away to her friend, just around the corner from the Top Barn model shop so I popped back to have another look and came back with a green 22, this will go with my BR Toad and my green Warship.

    I like quite a few. I have been to a GRA exhibition, only time I have been to an exhibition as such (as opposed to displays at the local NT properties). I get most of my prints in kit form, and they need assembly, usually 500 or 1000 parts. I do have a signed David Shepard print from when I met him at Toddington. I have a limited edition print of 35006 as I won top prize in a raffle.

    BR were investigating that idea, but decided a pair of BoBos was better.

    They were 4000bhp, it would be so much better than a 67 or that new thing. But apart from 199 HST power cars, express passenger Diesels have not improved since 1955

    I once managed to convince a load of people that 89,001 was withdrawn to allow it to be converted to a Diesel Electric using a Paxman 18VP185.

    I just drilled 2 holes for bearings, soldered a bit of tube as a pivot and glued the Lima W irons on top. I turned the wheels down on a Lima 08 by running it against a file!

    Basic compensation is not too difficult, my Lima CCT with 14mm wheels is compensated with a bent piece of brass

    An early trip out I had to get my now wife to help me bump start my car, I suppose a few hobbies is quite harmless, I still miss my old Sunbeam.
