    Train Station.

    🥴

Afraid quite commonly used these days. I can understand why - a railway station use to provide a lot of rail based services beyond passengers. Now for the majority getting on and off a train is their sole purpose so a train station.

I'm supposed to be responsible for verifying every buyer on eBay before I buy from them? The item was listed as new. Ridiculous comment.

If it were something expensive like a motor, they'd have a point. But quite clearly this is as part that costs a few pence to produce, so it's pretty mean spirited not to offer to send me some, or even the option to buy. Wouldn't get this nonsense from Rapido or someone with some class.

The issue most manufacturers would have is if its "new" but being sold privately and not by one of their stockists. If its not supplied by one of their stockists strictly it is now second hand and the guarantee only extents to the original purchaser.

  3. Its a constant problem with Hornby that what should be available as a spare part is invariably not, As a manufacturer they are becoming akin to the archtypical box shifter who is not interested in the small bits. Challenged for some bit or other their invariable response is try Peters Spares.

This was after I'd said I bought the pack new on eBay

Who was the seller? Many of the smaller model shops sell on eBay.

  5. Re the "Tubby Duff" I made mind less tubby by rubbing down a slight ridge protrusion in the sides of the chassis and reducing the width of the cab inserts which which otherwise once the chassis had been rubbed down were giving it a dumbbells impression.

A simple case of not proof reading your article before you publish to notice that a couple of instances of 'signal' has autocorrected to 'signs'

Even when proof read such errors may not get spotted as the author may read what they think they wrote not what is actaully on the screen.

  7. The problem was loading bays are typically single sided so a forklift load could only be put in at one end resualted in a unbalanced wagon. A clear example of a design not being thought through properly or did the designer think all loading points had operative wagon turntables,

Clever cat, it knows that it's Hooman doesn't eat birds and mice but does use teabags!

Remains me of a former neighours cat which had obviously became wary of dragging wildlife home due to the greeting it received and had instead dragged a carrier bag home, only to get the same greeting,

Just surprised Bachmann have not announced it at the Scottish or Ally Pally shows.

Presuambly those initial versions have only just arrived. Or alternatively they have done an internal appraisal of their quarterly announcements and decided after all the flak that has been flying around over the 31 staying silent until the point of release almost is not good.

  10. There will be those for whom the nominally cheaper price of kit will carry weight over the RTR model ignoring the associated costs in completing the kit to a running fully painted and lettered model,

  11. Its quite common for a number of versions of a model to be made at once as the tooling is set up. Bachmann back when they did a what to expect in the next 18 months announcement (which the press always misreported as being that year - ie the next 11 months) invariably subseuently added a numebr of otehr versions just before a model appeared. Hornby have at times scheduled different versions of a model throughout a year only for the factory to stick two figures up at them and produce the whole lot at once.

  12. Clearance Sale OO gauge New brings up in its listings

Also the pages do not show Clearance Sale has been selected - the only clue is that there are 29 pages whereas

The one that is even worse is the Fowler tender based one. I bought a "new old stock" one off EBay and was amazed at how crude the tender was.

Might have been the Airfix one from the 4F tweaked with coal rails added.

  14. The stock rail - blade connection can be a point of weakness over time in any scale IME. Another weakness of Peco points is the non prototypical pivot at the blade to wing rail. I have had one fail with the weight of a Bachmann 08 on it.

Making the mods will resolve the first from occurring but not the second.

IMO they should fit all the connections anyone might need so the purchaser only has to chop wires they do not want and not have to apply a soldering iron.
