A quick dodge is to drill a hole in a 19 or 20 and screw fix in place instead of the tension lock as shown i n

Latest Model Rail (no.323 March 2024) has an "Overview" rather than "Review which coupled togteher with the how to open it up parts of an article on detailing it is akin to a review bar any ratings. Regarding BR blue 12052 its states "Sold to Derek Crouch Mining Co - see MR-514"; that I make to be a 2038 issue!

I have fitted a Dapol imperium decoder, but looking at the CVs can't see which one dims the tail lamps.
Lais decoder - setting CV53 to 44 then CV64 dimmed depending on its setting (0 to 30) the interior lights on a EFE 144.
CV53 is F3. Other CVs are
CV49 Front lamp
CV50 Rear lamp
CV51 F1
CV52 F2
CV54 F4

The search function or narrowing down a selection using the supplied options is often completely useless IME. Locomotives pulls a Guagemaster Track Cleaning pad in its results while Warehouse Clearance - Rail ticked provides various cars, buses, lorries, aircraft, dionosaurs, bicycle, Airfix catalogue and Gunther flying toys etc in its results, and if you then seek to limit to say OO you get no results found.
Why is there an option (assuming it works) to limit it to pre-owned but not one to exclude, or is that meant to include pre-owned only when ticked but does so regatdless,
A complete shambles.

The "planning application" was made under the same Order that allows elsewhere within it a garden fence, for example to be put up. Reading its terms the footbridge etc required to be authorised by an Act of Parliament and for that Network Rail pointed to the Midland Railway (Settle to Carlisle) Act 1866 !

The current 8F and Fowler 4p, are the retooled versions, the ones you are talking about were tender driven for the 8F (I think that is right) and for the 4P a totally different motor and valve gear, which meant a new body, but they are still old models ( I don't know when they changed but it was a long time ago). As to older models costing more to make I assume it is because manufacturing processes have improved but these processes can't be used with older models. A lot of companies normally sell their older models at a reduced price, it definitely happens with cars because other than the raw materials and production costs, most of the product is profit, the tooling and development costs having been recovered years ago. If you look at electric tools and domestic appliances, you normally pay less for the older model.
The chunky valve gear 1980 Fowler 2P and the 1988 8F were last made in 1998. The replacement high detail models of both were released in 2003.

I cut through the pin holding the two parts of the speedo together on my Std 4 2-6-4T as it was plainly out of alignment and casuing the loco to have an up down motion. The two parts were then able to be aligned so as to look right. Would work well for one broken as above as their is then no stress on the glue repair joint.

Maybe someone should try contacting Hornby. There is the other possibility of the factory pulling a fast one and they may not be aware,

Yes, people are wanting them. I don't, even though I use DCC, but the market wants them, which is why the manufacturers provide them.
I still rate Lima's 31 and 47 very highly, a bit of work and they really hold their own. Getting the shape right is much more important than dazzling lights and spinning fans.
Even though the Lima 47 is too narrow?

Depending on how the lining has been applied it may be simple to remove that on the fenders, some models are easily removed of lining and lettering using enamel thinners.

Latest Collectors Club Bachmann Times arrived this morning - no updates on tooling for forthcoming already announced models any longer. Does give a list of Also Arriving Spring 2024 regarding previously announced models (which really they could do with showing at the end of video). That lists the WCRC TSO BSK and RMB so I would think more RMBs in the Summer 2024 announcement. Also listed are
- Thompson Full Brakes, each duplicated in four liveries
- DRS Class 20/3s 20310 and 20311
- DB Cargo HRAs (four different ones)
- EWS and Koronspan OTAs
- 009 Baguley Drewry diesel in green and RNAD Dean Hill
And the back cover is a full ad for the Stringray figures🙄
Also noted is that those two OTAs have a timber load like the newly announced BR Railfreight red one and the EWS will come in a weathered finish.

It's a same old, same old, product based on the Airfix GMR tooling, needs traction tyres to move a load. There simply isn't a good OO model of this class available if reliable performance with no need for traction tyres is on your priority list. IMO.
Hornby have all sorts of superior more recently tooled tank engines if you want to chop in your points. I heartily commend their J50, L1 and the Oxford branded N7, and even the Airfix GMR tooling derived N2, All are models which perform very well.
Dapol provided a new chassis for the model in 1995 selling it to Hornby the following year who tweaked that before releasing it in their range.

Thanks but its not the speedo cable. Had a couple of other identifiable bits fall off as well and on gluing one part back on another two fell off. Seems their must have been severe glue useage restrictions in the factory when it was put togteher.

Depends what was in the Ts&Cs that you agreed to. If they stated that Hattons could share your details with third parties for the purposes of paymenys znd shipping, they may already be covered.
You already get shipping notifications from some companies that show what you are receiving and some payment methods list the goods when you pay.
Roy
Checked Hatons comments, they are getting round the Data Protection issues by saying on the website https://www.hattons.co.uk/newsdetail?id=1504
QuotePlease let us know if we DO NOT have your permission to transfer your preorder, you can contact us via email. If we do not hear from you, your preorder will automatically move over

To accord with Data Protection regulations there must be some communication with you before any pre order is visible with Rails.

An alternative would be use Decoder Pro https://www.jmri.org/help/en/html/apps/DecoderPro/index.shtml and a SPROG https://www.sprog-dcc.co.uk/ on a decidated programming track - mine is on a short piece of wood along with the SPROG and its power supply allowing it be used convienetly with a PC / laptop

Of course the big question is what are the differences between an LMS Jocko (class 11) and a BR 350 (class 08) as I am not too sure.
A key difference is driving wheels size 08s have 4ft 6 inch driving wheels, 11s have 4ft 1/2 inch driving wheels.

The WR Green British Railways ones, ones listed as exterior lights on the weathered version, but the unweathered one says internal only.
Thanks corrected my posting. In Modern Locos Illustrated 217 theres a picture of 15105 in very filthy green still with the fully worded British Railways legible on it taken in 1957 with exteror lights added, while a 1948 photo of 15101 in the same livery (albeit cleaner) is relying on oil lamps.

It's nice to see the Mk1's back again. I have some blue / grey of the previous releases. This new announcement mentions that some of the new releases are TSO's. My older ones are SO and SK. I get that SK has a corridor but what is the difference between the previous SO and this newer TSO? I am also assuming that there is no corridor stock in this release.....

If you use a long length you can get the draft box fitted so that is not protruding forward of the bufferbeam and looks a lot better.
