That happened to a neighbours cat back in the early 1980s; he had caught a poisoned rat. Having become his best friend he turned up at the back door a few hours before he died and instead of bounding in gave me a very sad sounding meow, which was also strange as he rarely made a noise, and walked away. Last I saw of him but it shows cats do have feelings as it was clearly him saying thanks and good bye,

Just apply 16v ac to the common and in turn each of the coil contacts and see if the motor works.

Hi , thanks for replying. I don't have a multimeter. I have attached a wiring diagram . I've tried swopping the outer wires on the switch in fact I've probably swopped most wires with their opposite.
The peco diagram seems simple but I've done something wrongly.
Thanks again for your interest. I don't have any other motor to try . This was the first and only to date.
Have you tried the motor disconnected from the point?

Something about the "face" does not look right to me - too much yellow above the headcode and the handrail looks straight when it should have a slight curve to it

If only one side of the brake van is normally seen on the layout suggest fitting a guard figure in front of the light box on the side that is seen

If the motor works okay off the point the problem could be the overcentre spring is too strong for the motor and the spring tension needs tio be eased very slightly. Very simple with the former design of a top mounted overcentre spring whereas use of a small flat blade screwdriver could be used to move the spring mount slightly further away from the tiebar, but a something of a pain with the new bottom mounted design.

Bachmanns Double Fairlie, Quarry Hunslet and Penryn Mainline Hunslet 0-4-0s will as the Peco/Kato England locos will go round 183mm radius curves

And unless something is very weird with Dapols instructions given they quote Lais decioder numbers the Dapol decoders are reabdged Lais ones,

I found with Roco transformer my Multimaus was giving a peak track voltage of 24v. The original solution was two strings of diodes in opposing direction in one leg of the layout feed to drop the voltage. Now use a 19.6v laptop power supply which results in a track voltage of 17.8v.

Dapol fit 10k resistors to dim the LEDs in their 73

Those Mainline coaches were later sold by Replica and Bachmann albeit not in that cream and crimson livery and today are used as Gordons coaches in the Thomas range

I noticed that a screw is £1 each which is a lot when you are looking at six for a loco.
Comparable with or less than Peter Spares charges, two con rod screws £2 N gauge, £6 O gauge

Why would Dapol's instructions refer to it using the Lais product number if Lais were pirating Dapol's product.
Theres no if's, buts or maybes about it. The Imperium 1 and 2 are LaisDCC decoders with the shrinkwrap removed, CV7 changed to Dapol (I think) and stuck in a Dapol box.
And for which you pay double the price

The old Triang R408 turntable was always Super 4 track. With the introduction of the code 100 System 6 it was provided with Super 4 - System 6 convertor tracks retaining the Super 4 track on the turntable itself (R408U). A System 6 version was planned (R602) but sadly cancelled leading to the eventual introduction of the toy like current turntable.

No, Triang-Hornby changed to Code 100 rail in 1970 and the 'new' 1978 Turntable was always Code 100.
The change to Nickel Silver rail was made to the track range in 1993.
No, it was before the move to China. The very last locomotive to be made with an X.03 motor and Magnadhesion was the R866 Battle of Brighton 'Fighter Pilot' deleted at the end of the 1989 season. That cleared the way for the change from steel rails, the track was still made in Austria by Roco under contract although 'special' pieces such as the isolating tracks (and the turntable tracks) were made in Margate,
It's a great pity Pat Hammond's books on Triang/Triang-Hornby/Hornby end in 1996

Given the GW 1 debacle I do wonder what research is undertaken. Correcting might be possible if the logo and lettering is applied such that simply rubbing a cocktail stick on it causes it to break up and be swept away so care can be taken/protetcive measuers applied.

Surely both are Code 100. I think the change came when production shifted to China. However buying a second hand one in a box labelled made in China will not neccessarily be a guarantee that the rails are nickle silver as mispackaged second hand items is not uncommon IME.
What might be one on ebay has a starting price of £50 with £6 postage
Kernow for example are selling them new for £59.99 plus £4 postage

Just to be clear, Dapol Imperium are not made by Lais and have nothing to do with Lais.
Lais are pirated versions of the older DCCconcepts blue decoders
In that case why does the Dapol instruction sheet refer to the Imperium 1 as the 860019 ?
https://wicknessmodels.co.uk/slarti/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Imperium_instructions.pdf
Functionally they appear identical and the major difference is there is no srink wrap on the Dapol ones.

Definitely needs new brush springs and seemingly brushes - Peters Spares PS3

For the record the the Lais 860019 (sold at a higher price as the Dapol Imperium 1) has 2 logic outputs so is not suitable for this loco. Its is actually listed as 860019 on the instruction leaflet supplied by Dapol but all their documents refer to Auxs 3-6 to being logic . Lais themselves state
QuoteFunction: 4*100mA + 2 Logic Output
.Just to muddle the matter they say the same of the 870019, Digitrains however list it as
QuoteFunctions: 6 at 100mA each
That again is sold at a higher price as the Dapol Imperium 7 (oddly not listed by Dapol themselves)

An update from my 10800 experiments:
I reported before that I was having no luck with the top light on the short hood using any of Zimo MX634C/D (I tried both settings!), Zimo MX638C/D (all four settings tried), Lais 860019 (which, in spite of claims I have seen, appears to be a 4-function decoder), and now, the latest attempt, a Lais 870019 with stay-alive capability and 6-functions. The latter only arrived today and it works! 👏🎉
Many six function decoders have two two logic output amongst their 6 functions while this loco needs six power functions.

It's actually a Triumph 1500 and while there is definitely some CGI going on, I think the actual location used is real and is Lower West End Street in Margam.
Quite weird how the Google streetview vehicle only went just beyond the railway bridge
