  1. I can't comment on the unit you have, but the ECoS is a quality piece of kit. Don't use that "tarring brush" too liberally, ESU do generally produce high quality items.
  2. The supplied power supply is 12V, 500mA, with the adapter being centre positive. If you'd like a photo of the adapter decal let me know.
  3. I actually think there's an opportunity to look at sharing STL files for free. I am personally happy to share files that I design, which are done for personal reasons. Why would I feel the need to "sell" them? If I can offer files for free and then receive others for free, is that not better?
  4. If the free trail is offered to you on the Amazon website, take up the offer. You can then almost immediately (perhaps immediately?) go and cancel it and the trial will run for the next 30 days and then stop without any charge to you. I've done it a few times. Of course this is nothing to do with the scam that this thread is meant to be about (ooops). Steve
  5. Mine took almost 2 months to arrive, and that was pre-COVID. So patience is the order of the day.
  6. It is a bracket. The idea being once your print has finished you can remove the build plate, attach it into the black bracket and then place the bracket and build plate back onto the printer. The build plate and printed object, now at 45 degrees, can drain/drip excess resin into the vat. Steve
  7. I've never found the smell an issue. Sure, it has an odour but nothing that I would call overpowering or objectionable. The same goes for IPA, which American's seem to complain about. I can only assume that in the US they add something to IPA, as to me it just smells like any other pure alcohol. As for cured resin being left on the FEP, that doesn't sound right. I've never had resin left in the vat, so cleaning was easy in that I just wiped it clean after pouring out (and filtering) the unused resin. BTW, leaving scratches on the FEP doesn't cause any harm, holes are what you need to avoid.
  8. Agreed, 124s did "regularly" visit York. In addition to NL and BG DMU's, there were services run from the North East. So Darlington allocated DMUs were also common. Steve
  9. They will arrive when they arrive. We should all just chill. Life has many priorities and predicting the future is a reasonably futile exercise.
  10. Mike, thanks for that. Just what I was hoping for. Steve
  11. Would an Associated Position Light mounted beneath colour light signal at a platform end be of a similar or same dimension as a Ground Position Light? I am looking to 3-D print some dummy APLs, but the only engineering drawing I can find is for a GPL. This gives a height and width of 410 x 430 mm, so about 5.4 mm in OO.
  12. Hi Mark, I can't add anything regarding the warping and it is quite frustrating when it happens. I'm guessing you printed the interior inverted? Sometimes printing at an angle can make a difference, but the supports then become more critical. Talking supports, I find that Prusaslicer offers the best auto-support and auto orientation options. Better still it's free. Just set up the software with a "Prusa SL1" printer. Import the model into Prusaslicer, right click and select Optomize Orientation. Then click on supports icon and set to 75% then apply. I look quickly to see if it needs more which it rarely does. Then export stl with supports. Open in chitubox and slice and print. Just make sure you export from Prusaslicer with supports
  13. You can't upload a 50200 colour image into the 50000, the two formats are completely different. 80 x 20 pixels (B&W) vs 190 x 40 pixels (24bit colour).
  14. Wow! What a great video. It brought back so many memories of my spotting days based in the North East. Thanks for posting.
  15. I need to spend some time scanning in my photo's and slides. One day soon perhaps. At the moment I have one to offer: 47640 University of Strathclyde with an Inverness - Aberdeen service, accelerating out of Dyce station in May 1986. Steve
  16. Which one is not very good?
  17. The normal display will show 16 functions and their current state (if latching functions). One button press will bring up the next 8, but replaces the 9-16. I don't have any decoders with more than 24 functions so cannot comment on what happens for F25+. Excuse the bad photo's, but these were already on my PC. The first image shows the normal 1 - 16 functions. Using the 17+ button at the top of the screen then brings up the next 8 functions, as seen on the second image. Steve
  18. Nah, it's not an EM2 as that's just the name that DC-Kits use. It actually is a T1-1925S Steve
  19. This totally hits the spot for both location and period. One copy has been ordered, now I have to endure that frustrating wait for it to arrive. Steve
  20. I think Doug is making a very valid point. It would be a great step forward if reviews could cover how easy it is to remove the body, as well as how much space (height) is present inside the model to fit a third party speaker. Not only would this provide great information to the consumer, it might start pushing the manufacturers to think more about these two important design features. Thanks for the informative posts Doug. Steve
  21. No problem. If you don't fancy soldering or indeed hard wiring a decoder into a loco, you could consider using one of these: http://www.esu.eu/en/products/accessories/adapterplatinen/21mtc-adapter-board-3/ Steve
  22. The index pin (pin 11) is the one that's "missing" and there's no hole in the decoder. So 9 and 10 are adjacent to the non-existent pin 11
  23. Eureka! I did a quick search on the iTrain forum and found an old thread, in which Xander said to change the default baud rate to 57000. I did that and this is what I now get: For something so simple, it's given me a disproportionately big smile I wonder why Xander hasn't change the default figure to the correct one for the interface? Thanks for your help Iain. I might be back at some point.....!!
  24. Making progress, although not sure why! Same loco and setup as yesterday, but this time I'm getting a Railcom ID (CV1). Iain, can you talk me through the steps I need to take in iTrain in order to get the Switchboard to show the loco ID in that block? Thanks, Steve
