  1. No DC-Kits, what a shame. Bif's seminars are a "go to" for me every year. Steve
  2. Thanks Eddy, now subbed and waiting with baited breath. I'll head off and watch your other vids. Steve
  3. That looks great. Are you able to pass on any details of the processes involved in producing a useable stl file? Steve
  4. Ahh, basic assumption on my part given that most folk are south of Aberdeen! I'm in Milltimber, so not as far west as you by the sound of things. Steve
  5. Matt, I'll go 50:50 on a train fare and we'll get David up here 😉 Steve
  6. I'm producing a similar model, based on mid-70s to mid-80s. Steve
  7. Thanks David, I came to the same conclusion with a couple of mockups. I'm coming to the conclusion that shape and getting everything to fit is more important than 100% scale accuracy. If it looks right then it is right 😅
  8. Very nice. Did you manage to get accurate dimensions for the portals, or where these based on observation and "best modelling guesswork"? I'm planning to get my portals modelled over the coming months.
  9. It looks just like those Hornby diesels I saw in the shops (not so long ago 😉).
  10. Let us all know if that solves your issue. Steve
  11. I forgot to mention that you do need on extra piece of hardware, you will need to get a Loconet to USB adapter so that iTrain can use the Loconet (Railcom) information. I use a US product called Locobuffer. I did struggle to get this to work with iTrain, but a change in the iTrain default comms speed for Locobuffer solved this. Steve
  12. I have the same hardware as you describe. I utilise the ECoS to drive the trains and iTrain to basically act as signalman setting routes, displaying block detection and Railcom feedback info. I have no need for a DR5000. iTrain also talks to ECoS and displays the appropriate information. You are correct that the ESU Loconet adapter will not pass on Railcom info to ECoS. ECoS will display basic occupancy info only. Steve
  13. Can someone point me to the post where Accurascale asked for what models everyone would like to see next? We all want different things and I totally trust Accurascale to produce the right product to ensure a successful business. I want them to succeed way more than I want them to produce a particular 37 just because I or someone else asked them to
  14. I run a number of legacy Windows "apps", and all continued to work as advertised with W11. As Keith notes above, in reality W11 is an incemental update on W10 rather than a fundamental shift in the core OS. I would be amazed if you hit any issues with an upgrade. Steve
  15. Just for clarity, Zimo and ESU decoders have a free firmware upgrade path. Steve
  16. As commented above, these will not work with a Loksound v3.5 (health warning - don't try this at home folks!) They are a great upgrade for a v4 or v5 though! Steve
  17. When I first relocated to BC in July 2007, we rented an apartment in those very tower blocks. I thought the views out of the windows was fantastic. However my wife wasn't too keen on the constant clashing of buffers all day and all night, both in this yard and the one just to the west (behind you). Steve
  18. Hi Philip, I currently have a licenced V1.0 copy. How do I upgrade to v1.3? Do I simply download the latest evaluation copy and use the existing registration code? Steve
  19. The acceptable level of risk is a very personal thing, including Covid. However I have to say that the responses of the AMRSS "representatives" and associated quotes from the committee do not fill me full of confidence that they are taking a suitably conservative view on everyones safety. Just saying "we're following SEC and government guidelines" isn't enough for me. I want to know they are applying best practice to ensure my safety and well being. If AMRSS wish to be more restrictive than the stated requirements then I am sure the official bodies won't complain! Different rules for layout operatives and traders to those required for attendees doesn't make sense and isn't justifiable IMHO.
  20. There's a lot of Rule 1 being applied, looking at the order lists above. Nothing wrong with that! Multiple 37s and 55s on order. More will follow. If more detail is required "I'm taking the 5th" Steve
  21. I've decided to give Glasgow a miss in February, but will definitely visit Perth in the summer. I'm really looking forward to the usual fantastic show.
  22. A couple of things to check, so that you produce an image that should be 22.3K in size. 190 x 40 pixels 96 pixels per inch 24 bit bitmap What size is your image? Steve
  23. 1. Concorde. Unique and flew G-BOAC from JFK - LHR 2. A340-500. Fairly unique, flew a number of times SIN-EWR-SIN non stop. Longest flight was 18 hrs 45 mins! 3. Viscount. Classy!
