  1. Encountering some of the K#ob ends today coming back from a trip to Llansanan in a fair bit of snow, I think they have!!!! Lovely work on the waiting room and the bridge Coachman, thanks for the tips with regards to painting and weathering stone. Jinty
  2. Don't apologise for the updates. The bridge support is looking really good. You don't half get stuck in when you start, don't you? Jinty
  3. That's a very nice Loriot build Barnaby, and weathered nicely too. Jim's kits are a pleasure to build, I need a few more of his myself. Jinty
  4. That's coming on well, but you may want to go back to the Nail Bar and let them finish your thumb nail off!!! Seriously, what technique have you used? Is it just a brush application and are you going to try the 'chipping effects method? This guy has some serious skills in weathering. Jinty
  5. Hopper and pipe wagon look good Brian. Did you do what I suggested with the hopper body colour? As for the other thing......................................... Looks like it's going to hurt like hell!!!!!!!!! Jinty
  6. Welcome to 7mm, it's addictive. As Chris says a great choice of loco in the Minerva Pannier, I have a few myself. The track plan is great too, lots of operating/shunting potential there. I too am looking forward to seeing some American O, I do have a liking for the stuff from across the pond sometimes.................... Will follow with interest. Jinty
  7. Hi Gismorail, Yes the kit is a Connoisseur kit, totally full of lead (Glued in!!!) in the boiler, and tanks, so I had to be a bit imaginative with the speaker position, but just got it in. Jinty
  8. Mary had a little lamb Upon her knee it sits, I've often seen her little lamb But I've never seen her ............. Jinty Think I'd better get my coat......................
  9. I'll keep quiet then.................................... Jinty
  10. Hi Paul, Looking good, I agree that you're going to have to have long legs top operate that layout. On another note, the ends of your baseboard where the track is, have you thought about securing the rail with something, like maybe a brass pin fixed into the wood and up through the sleeper? The track is prone to being caught, no matter how careful and good the intentions, and it will just wreck all your hard work. Chris (Too Many Spams) on here has solved the baseboard end problems with one of the most unique and well hidden ideas I've seen. Have a look a bit back through his Pencarrow thread here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/69736-pencarrow-pg255-wagons-walls-bufferstops-and-pain/ Just a thought Jinty
  11. Debs of this parish does O-MF track gauges, search her member name for contact details. They are excellent quality. Roxy I think also do a fold up gauge, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Jinty
  12. He was a bit slow first time, but on the ball the second!!! And his name is Billy, it's in the credits!!! Jinty
  13. Good evening people, not much done today as I had an unexpected issue. But at least some workbench work has been done later this afternoon. I mentioned earlier that I was dealing with a class 20. Well I've done the sound install and I;'ve made quite a bit of a change to the loco inside, and fitted a large bass reflex speaker of my own at one end. Next up is the lighting circuits and a light for the cab. Then it's on with the weathering. Here is a video to show the testing of the sound file, which is another by Paul Chetter, now available through Digitrains as an Active Drive sound project with Speed Lock. Jinty
  14. The message within the yellow line states the following: "WE ARE CURRENTLY PERFORMING SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. WE WILL BE BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PLEASE CHECK BACK SOON." I had to double click each word one by one. Jinty
  15. Hi Rod, Thanks, yes Jon does a superb job with the signals. Yes I have a Megapoints board now to drive them. Jon showed me how to set up the board for the signals so now I'll be able to get the two most important ones done once the point rodding and platforms are in place. Next up on the video log is a certain class 20!!!! Jinty
  16. Hi Coachman, Next time you call ask to see the Station signs and signal box nameboard that I've had done by Narrow Planet. Excellent quality and price, a bit of a wait but etches are crisp and well finished, and each one is custom made. Good things are worth waiting for. Jinty
  17. 2lb lump hammer, half swing with a slight vergence to the right to take into account the curvature of the Earth (Which I thought was flat till I saw that Tesla in space!!!!! ). The 1.3 fits all the Slaters grub screws I've tried up to now (Granted a little stiff), but they have always been on used Allen screws. I will have to find a new one in my JLTRT 2251 kit and report back!!! (A good excuse to get it down out of the wardrobe!!) Jinty
  18. Hi there, You'd of probably been better putting this in the Questions & Help part of the forum, but I've recently purchased a couple of decent 1.3mm hex screwdrivers that are for the Slaters hex (Allen) screws, from RS Components @ £4.31 each and I think FREE P&P. Here is a link: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/screwdrivers/1231865/ Hope that helps Jinty
  19. A plesent visit from JF today and a couple of my signals are now up and running. Thanks Jon. I thought I'd put a short video together showing a N.E. G5 that I've just fitted sound to. Jinty
  20. A fantastic piece of work Coachman, lovely observed weathering of the building as well. Jinty
  21. Tis certainly a view from Capel Curig. Lovely painting Andy. Snowdon doesn't look so high in that view, well not as high as it was one day last year for me!!!! Keep taking it easy Andy, and I hope all goes well with the surgeon for you. Jinty
  22. Here's a link to the relevant page John: https://eileensemporium.com/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=category&task=listing&cid=4092&name=brass-flat-strips-metric&Itemid=189 I use it to fabricate the brake guards on JLTRT wagon kits as the whitemetal ones are too thick in my opinion. Jinty
  23. Sod's Law!!! Just posted this and found the product I needed at Eileens Emporium within a few minutes. Ordered on-line. Jinty
  24. Whilst at the Pontefract Show, I managed to find some thin, narrow brass strip and I'm looking for some more, but can't seem to find any listed within the Albion Alloys or K&S websites. Now it may be listed either metric or imperial, I don't mind, but the dimensions of the stuff I've got are as follows: 1.5mm wide x 0.5mm thick x 300mm long. I don't mind if it's Brass or Nickel Silver, I'd just like to purchase some from somewhere and I can't remember which trader I bought it off at the show. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance. Jinty
  25. Looks more in keeping with what Miss P said Martyn. Nice work. Jinty
