  1. Superb work there, the attention to detail is astounding!!! I read someone's post somewhere on here, that they never see axle counters modelled, well they haven't been looking in the right place obviously!!! And those signals are to die for, as said above, astounding Jinty ;-)
  2. Quality tunnel mouths, even more ideas for me to nick!!!!!!! Great modelling Terry Jinty ;-)
  3. Nice kit you've got there. For what it's worth, I'd go for the lights and motorising now, as I bet it'd be a pain to be done retrospectively!!!! If you're already asking the question, then you'll only regret it!!! I'd like to see the Jig too :jester: :danced: Oh and Happy Birthday for tomorrow Have a great day!!!! Jinty ;-)
  4. No worries, You don't have to use ESU, you can use DCC concepts S4SAP for the motor unit and 2 x Function only DCC Concepts decoders, be somewhat cheaper!!!! I'm just an ESU whore!!!!! I suggest decent decoders as the Hornby motor bogie isn't the smoothest, and a good decoder will help the running no end. Jinty ;-)
  5. Here it is Simon, I used a Lokpilot V4.0, and 2 x Lokpilot V4.0 FX (Function only) decoders in it, the ESU pick-ups that fit nicely onto the bogies as well. The lighting was easy, drill out the marker lamps to approx. 2mm, fit bi-colour, common positive (red/yellow) lighthouse LED's from Express Models, and some lighting strip (supposed to be self adhesive, but not!!!) Oh and cut away the drivers desk and the front face inside the chassis, or it won't go back together!!!!! Here are a couple of pictures........... Forward..... Reverse, you can only just make out the red of the lamps..... F0 turns the directional lights on/off, F1 turns the interior lights on/off!!!!! Hope it helps, ask if you want any more info......... :imsohappy: Jinty ;-)
  6. Lol, like the referances!!!!! I DCC'd a Hornby 101 3-car a little while ago for a mate of mine, used 3 ESU decoders in it, and it was easy to put directional lighting in too!!! I've got some pics somewhere!!! Jinty ;-)
  7. Simply stunning trackwork!!! I like the scrap wagons too, very nice Are they much of a conversion to do? Following with interest, even though I'm not P4 Jinty ;-)
  8. I like the livery on the 33 that the new wheels has cured!!!! L Logo suits them I think I've only just noticed your 31 in NR yellow!!!! Out of my period, but I l;ike it a lot!!!!! All over great work, and you're right, it's the little details that make it! JInty ;-)
  9. Thanks Peter, That looks like a great place to work and play I like the hill in between the two open sections, it looks like the Orme at Llandudno Jinty ;-)
  10. Hi Dave, It'll look brilliant I'm sure. As far as the illuminating of it, have you seen these: http://www.expressmodels.co.uk/acatalog/FLUORESCENT_TYPE_LED_LAMPS.html I've got them in my depot and they come with a separate board with a rheostat on, so you can turn them down if they're too bright. I've no connection with EM, just s regular satisfied customer. Jinty
  11. Hi Doughnut, Wow that station is looking fantastic. I take it that the overall roof is coming a fair way down the platform, looking at where the lights start? And talking of the lights, those razor tops have done great!!! Keep up the great work, and as said before, running will be an absolute pleasure for you Jinty ;-)
  12. Ok, I'm officially confused!!!! (doesn't take much does it???) The line at the very bottom (from Edge Hill), is that a set back siding, or is it a running line that then joins the 2 main running lines via the crossover, leaving a headshunt thayt needs protection. My confusion is that isn't the crossover itself a trap to protect the main running lines, unless of course, it is indeed a running line, where stock in the headshunt would have to be protected from running away!!! I know from what I've seen of Beast's work and knowledge on here, that it wouldn't be there unless it was required, so that leads me to think it is a running line rather than a set-back siding. Sorry to appear thick Jinty ;-)
  13. Is this another scenic/junction/ storage area Peter? If it's a fraction as nicely done as Lambourne, it'll be stunning!!! Do you have a track diagram or an overview, just to get some perspective? Jinty ;-)
  14. 31107 looks the part indeed. I like my 105, redstripe is such a nice livery too. Major works breaking out there, hope it all goes smoothly and is over quickly for you. Jinty ;-)
  15. That trackwork is so nice Keep the pictures coming Jinty ;-)
  16. Nice night time shots Love that NSE 47!!! Jinty ;-)
  17. Hi Simon, I take it you know about this site: http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/paulbartlettsrailwaywagons I've found loads of interesting examples off there, like a 21t HTO hopper wagon that I modelled as an ED one!!! You have a wonderful selection of wagons there already, I want one of those 'Dutch' Shark brakes too Jinty ;-)
  18. There is something nice about ED wagons, I think it's the sheer variety of them. Incline walls coming on nicely too JInty ;-)
  19. I think the Southern made just about anything out of concrete, even the biscuits that went with the grey tea!!!!! :jester: JInty ;-)
  20. It's a 150/1 in Regional Railways livery, but I ain't seen it yet!!!!!! lol Good price on the wheel sets, I've usually found Howes good for service for Heljan!! Keep up the great work Jinty ;-)
  21. All looking brilliant, You're like me with your extensions, I'm already planning mine!!!!!! The MPD is looking great, a nice uncluttered look about the area with the NR vans. The junction is looking good too, I like the wire run along the retaining wall (another idea to steal!!!!!) How did you get on with Howes over the 33 wheels? I want a Crompton too, but next month maybe (Type 5 and a 150 arriving on Monday!!) I'll look forward to the weathering on that one. Jinty ;-)
  22. Hi Terry, I think it's been discussed in quite a few places, something about the copper wheels, and needing replacement sets from Howes. I can't seem to find any links for the subject at the moment, but I'll post or PM you if I find one. Jinty ;-)
  23. Looks like some great modelling there David, I'm following too :imsohappy: Oh and quickly with some more pictures too Jinty ;-)
  24. Copycat.................... Me too!!!!!!! :imsohappy: Oh and a 150/1 Jinty ;-)
  25. Maybe should of asked: What's between the loco's????? :jester: DT doesn't need any help at all with levity........ (And no, nothing to do with floating in mid air either!!!) Jinty ;-)
