  1. Strange, second day and no Kal or Jaz!!!!!! Hope the phone line hasn't given up the ghost again??? Hope everything is OK? and looking forward to the continuance of much mirth and painting. Jinty ;-)
  2. (Just wondering what that Warship is doing lurking there in the background?) NCB must of purchased it as a shunter........... Brilliant layout, and the modelling standards are superb. Now following Jinty ;-)
  3. Good videos there, nice variety too Jinty ;-)
  4. Thanks, I was walking over the H bridge that day and saw it after it had hit, I took a picture too, but God knows where that is now!!!! Jinty ;-)
  5. Hi Peter, That 40 is just spot on, I remember them roaring and whistling as they passed on the Irish Mail, as the main line was right near our house when I was a lad., I also remember one demolishing the footbridge at Rhyl whilst shunting as well!!!!!, well the footbridge upright, they had to erect a new one!!! I think the loco ran away!!! (not after it had hit the bridge of course!!) Jinty ;-)
  6. Since when was BR cost Effective???????? Jinty ;-)
  7. Yes, you would of thought so wouldn't you. I'm afraid I can't give the reason, as I don't know!!!!. I do know that many single door wagons ended up with the ED. I just thought I'd offer an alternate, from what had already been offered. Jinty ;-) PS: I too am waiting to see that Western
  8. Nice job on the wagon Jaz, I like the textures with the powders and liquid mix, really brings it out. How about an alternative, you could file off one of the doors and produce a later, single door 21t MDO http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/mdo1doorrebuiltrenumber/h15933f60#h15933f60 They had no end doors either, but that would take some filing!!! Just a thought for variation. Jinty ;-)
  9. Failed 37427???????? She runs fine on Wrexbury!!!!!! lol I like the train spotters, again, lots of nice little details all over. Jinty ;-)
  10. I posted the answer on my thread as I was getting the link off there. That'll teach me to try and be clever a 11;30hrs!!!! lol I've got to take my 08 apart again for the weathering process, as soon as I've completed the 37 on the bench at the moment, I'll strip the 08 and send you a couple of pictures of the chassis modification. JInty ;-)
  11. Very nice 08 there, it'll look even better with a good old weathering . I fitted the Express Models lighting kit to mine, with a 4-function decoder. A pretty major operation as you have to cut a chunk out of the chassis at the front for the LED's. But quite manageable if you take your time. Jinty ;-)
  12. Colas 56 looks the part. Nice to play trains as well Jinty ;-)
  13. Great layout, lots of different areas, all exceptionally well done. The signal box is real quality, and at that price too!!! The only thing I will say, is that if that 57 is coming OUT of the wash plant, then you've run out of soap!!!!! Following now Jinty ;-)
  14. It's always a worry if things are going to work, but the main thing I've read from the above pictures, is that a six coupled loco and a bogie coach will negotiate the radii, which in itself opens up so many more possibilities from just a four coupled loco!!!!! If the Mogul traverses it, most other six coupled can be made to do so (well apart from large GWR 4-6-0's)!!! Good luck with this, it looks like you've got yourself a rather nice little railway room there, and plans afoot for a rather nice railway. Well done. Jinty ;-)
  15. Well after looking at my Lima one, Bauxite looks probably right, and like you say, I don't think I've ever seen a photo of a clean one yet!!! Get the dirt flowing Jinty ;-)
  16. That's turned out rather nice. Do I take it there will be lights and sound with it too?????? Jinty ;-)
  17. Hi Bomp, I'm sorry to hear about your problems, it all sounds very frustrating I hope you don't mind me saying, but you have quite a large layout with a few circuits, you have points, etc, and now you have signals. I would suggest attacking the problem in stages, firstly, uncouple everything (and I mean everything)!! Then go around your whole layout and look if there are any metal objects or anything conductive across the rails. Then check that if you've got electrofrog points, there is an insulated fishplate on the frog part of the point to each rail (That's the two inside rails at the heel of the point) Then if it is all clear, and insulated fishplates are in place, wire one circuit/section up at a time. if there are any points within each section, throw each and every point in that section, and see if anything shorts out. Doing this one section at a time should enable you to narrow it all down, and may help with the frustration. I have had a few frustrating moments with my layout, from incorrectly connecting feeds to one of my Cobalts, to forgetting to slice the wired link on an electrofrog point. But I've always found a nice brew, 5 mins chill , and starting from scratch, the easiest way of fault finding. As far as the colour light signals go, I would most certainly leave them till the layout is working as you want it first, as this can just compound any problems you have!!! I wish you all the best and I hope the problem comes to light sooner rather than later. Regards Jinty ;-) Edited to say, You're already working from the beginning, I should of read more!!!!!!! Also, there shouldn't be any problem with having feeds at the toe of a point, it's any feeds at the heel that will cause problems ;-)
  18. Superb attention to detail, all the false starts are worth it when you end up with results like that depot floor!!!! Great work, looking forward to more Jinty ;-)
  19. Liking this a lot, love the 85 and the 50 on the high level, you can just see the picture evolving with the whole layout, the different levels really work on this one. Well done, will be following with interest. Jinty ;-) PS: I've just acquired the very same Oxford Scania tractor unit myself, nice little model :senile:
  20. Here are 2 of my PWA's. I think Pullman umber is more correct as I think the Hornby colour looks right!!! The Lima one on the left, Hornby on the right in top photo, other way round in the bottom. Sorry for the hijack!!!! Jinty ;-)
  21. I've just had a look at my 3 UKF vans (I know it's taken a while!!!), and only one of them is a Lima one, the other two are Hornby and the ends are brown on them, and the brown is certainly a darker brown than the Lima ones. Jinty ;-)
  22. Well I agreed!!!!!!!! But only to the affinity, not the rest ;-) Jinty ;-)
  23. Nice CDA's Neil This layout has so many little details in every corner Jinty ;-)
  24. Superb warehouse!!!!!! This is all just coming along so nicely. Jinty ;-)
  25. Just read through this for the first time What a wonderful amount of atmosphere in such a small space, it's a great piece of modelling. I'm not an Eastern fan, but it certainly captures industrial 60's well I like the turntable area, and especially the way the backscene blends into the model. Jinty ;-)
