Airfix Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero. Nice kit, goes together well, just needed a little filler on the underside of the fuselage. Decided against painting the cockpit freehand, so waiting for masks to arrive from Poland. Will fit the prop last of all. Deliberately light when spraying, to get the look of a well worn plane, think I got it about right. I did a few panels in a slightly different shade of green, although, according to Tamiya, it's the same, just spray and pot, to look like replacement for battle damage.
Any niggles? Yes, a couple. It would have been nice to have a three part canopy, so it could be modelled open. In the painting/decal guide, it shows four locations for decal #12, yet only two are supplied.
The engine cowl is painted Tamiya Sea Blue (XF-17) which is supposed to match their AS-8. We'll see when I build the F4U-1D Corsair.
