Oh Boy They should make you Sales Manager for CDC models! The above photographs have sold me anyway. Thank you so much.

Just found this. What a crying shame the photographs were lost!

I have several Hornby Black fives and in order to produce good ones I have cannibalised bits from one loco and my spares box. This has left me with 3 usable tenders, a good chassis and a really bare body. I only need cab steps and sandboxes and I'll be OK for yet another. Any source recommendations would be really welcome.

Re-Wheeling Hornby 14xx With Ultrascale Wheels
RonnieS replied to RonnieS's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
Well I gave it the occasional run BUT today a driving wheel moved on it's axle. In a box now awaiting it's fate. Again DO NOT DO THIS CONVERSION -
I am considering replacing my aged airbrush with https://www.expotools.com/acatalog/Gravity-Feed-Airbrush-with-Pistol-Grip-AB777.html but I can't find a review. Could any helpful person here comment on it's ability?

RonnieS replied to 247 Developments's topic in Smaller Suppliers
Hi Brian Quite interested in the container set. Was that a show special? Or can I order a set? If so it's by @phone only I believe. I am a bit deaf these days but should be OK. -
Well done Tony! They got about more than you would think. I have a photo of one near Bilston (Wolverhampton area). A running in turn on a trip working (or as known in the area a "bank train") Rob sent me the below info According to "Pannier Papers No 6", several 15xxs were overhauled at Wolverhampton Stafford Road works:- 1500 left works 10/5/62 1502 left works 13/6/57 1507 left works 27/12/60. 1507 On 1/1/61was photographed at Worcester on the only known passenger working by the class!!

Well! It's all coming together (a bit like a jigsaw puzzle) slowly. The DCC/DC panel is working great. A flick of a switch and it's either Z21 or a choice of 2 MODELEX hand held controllers. The latter are the absolute bees knees in DC control. Achievement due to all the gang working together . Teamwork makes the dream work! -
Have you seen this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355414562110?hash=item52c05bd53e:g:0H8AAOSwCFNls~67&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4AUaz0ZXB3aVyNFW6dPqdRLW4R%2Fy5%2FI69eXxFpacGdFnMlHf710ehzqGeaU2eqMPffK71sxnw9qNEcBSXHVKf98RGILn0hTG9mcsT0g24RpWx1WHUAFVeVGtflC3Q0bvVgMtmw0%2BCcQHpqoZ%2Ffosv2atRJl5KFXGZSldBihm%2Fm8GfBCZb34mFTdjpMf3S5Xafv3MiJtbykj0wPVZSdYmRTCEftJaVOVdh%2Bdt9WOD1ZPCK3iisrBZK4knfCPoSJ17tHIDf45YoHpOTMcbjGNKmKjBh7jFW94I08leA7iVU4TY|tkp%3ABk9SR9j6vr2pYw

Not a lot happening on OLD MILLS as It's the run up to and I have been working on a DCC/DC control panel for a club project.

My Christmas Present to me is the Hornby 78xxx. This one was latterly Gloucester allocated so not a huge stretch of maybe. At the mo it's very stiff and requires much running in. Nearly al my 80+ locos run at 3 on the Modelex but this one needed 5 for the first hour. It's now about 4.2 so more miles!
-
I served my apprenticeship at Bilston Steelworks. From 1965 on. It changed from Stewarts and LLoyds to British steel during this time and at the start there were still a few steam locos. My Uncle Bill was high up in the electrical part of the loco shed, although what his job tittle was I can't recall.

Almost 2 months on from the last post and nothing to show! Well lots of work has been done BUT nowt worth a photograph. Clive has done tons of scenic work but it's all white at the moment so an illustration of a ghost in a snowstorm would have more detail. The panel for the left hand side has been fitted but the top at the moment is plain. Ditto comment. The work on the 3rd panel (the DCC to DC > all singing, all dancing magic box) has come to a grinding halt because of a nasty paint reaction! I have to leave it a further week, rub it down, spray it with Barcoat isolator and start again. Bah Humbug -
Said Collett auto tank conversion was not a great success. The flanges are possibly a bit too near to scale as it's great bunker first everywhere on the layout but smokebox first it's not happy on the 2ft 6 radius route Peco curved points. It's fine on the 5ft route. So a restricted engine!
-
Not a lot of movement here (it must be 1959!) as I only did an Ultrascale Hornby 14xx conversion in the last month. I have been working on a club project

Not only did Clive photograph this he also sculptured it. It is the adjacent corner and will become a waterfall!
