Yesterday I began work on yet another panel! This is the one for the loco yard and as the previous 3 utilises a WORKS box. At £10 it saves a lot of work over building one from scratch. The power for the turntable will be a S/H gauge MASTER controller let into the lid of the box and as you can see the AC power socket let into the side. The mains/ 16vAC transformer just plugs in. -

Last night I fitted the studs and switches into the goods yard panel top. A soldering session (on the internals) will take place this weekend! -

Long time no posting. The Camera died! A new acquisition was tried out today on Clive's scenic work. However I hadn't worked out how to programme out the flash but playing about at home I now have "got it" so more soon. -
Oh Boy They should make you Sales Manager for CDC models! The above photographs have sold me anyway. Thank you so much.

Just found this. What a crying shame the photographs were lost!

I have several Hornby Black fives and in order to produce good ones I have cannibalised bits from one loco and my spares box. This has left me with 3 usable tenders, a good chassis and a really bare body. I only need cab steps and sandboxes and I'll be OK for yet another. Any source recommendations would be really welcome.

RonnieS replied to RonnieS's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
Well I gave it the occasional run BUT today a driving wheel moved on it's axle. In a box now awaiting it's fate. Again DO NOT DO THIS CONVERSION -
I am considering replacing my aged airbrush with https://www.expotools.com/acatalog/Gravity-Feed-Airbrush-with-Pistol-Grip-AB777.html but I can't find a review. Could any helpful person here comment on it's ability?

RonnieS replied to 247 Developments's topic in Smaller Suppliers
Hi Brian Quite interested in the container set. Was that a show special? Or can I order a set? If so it's by @phone only I believe. I am a bit deaf these days but should be OK. -
Well done Tony! They got about more than you would think. I have a photo of one near Bilston (Wolverhampton area). Well! It's all coming together (a bit like a jigsaw puzzle) slowly. The DCC/DC panel is working great. A flick of a switch and it's either Z21 or a choice of 2 MODELEX hand held controllers. The latter are the absolute bees knees in DC control. Achievement due to all the gang working together . Teamwork makes the dream work! -
Have you seen this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355414562110?hash=item52c05bd53e:g:0H8AAOSwCFNls~67&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4AUaz0ZXB3aVyNFW6dPqdRLW4R%2Fy5%2FI69eXxFpacGdFnMlHf710ehzqGeaU2eqMPffK71sxnw9qNEcBSXHVKf98RGILn0hTG9mcsT0g24RpWx1WHUAFVeVGtflC3Q0bvVgMtmw0%2BCcQHpqoZ%2Ffosv2atRJl5KFXGZSldBihm%2Fm8GfBCZb34mFTdjpMf3S5Xafv3MiJtbykj0wPVZSdYmRTCEftJaVOVdh%2Bdt9WOD1ZPCK3iisrBZK4knfCPoSJ17tHIDf45YoHpOTMcbjGNKmKjBh7jFW94I08leA7iVU4TY|tkp%3ABk9SR9j6vr2pYw

Not a lot happening on OLD MILLS as It's the run up to and I have been working on a DCC/DC control panel for a club project.

My Christmas Present to me is the Hornby 78xxx. This one was latterly Gloucester allocated so not a huge stretch of maybe. At the mo it's very stiff and requires much running in. Nearly al my 80+ locos run at 3 on the Modelex but this one needed 5 for the first hour. It's now about 4.2 so more miles!

I served my apprenticeship at Bilston Steelworks. From 1965 on. It changed from Stewarts and LLoyds to British steel during this time and at the start there were still a few steam locos. My Uncle Bill was high up in the electrical part of the loco shed, although what his job tittle was I can't recall.
