  1. Well it nice to here there still around. Thinking about it more, I remember seeing some old wagons in the sidings at west end of Basingstoke's yards. Were they there a long time?
  2. I remember when I was growing up in Basingstoke I remember two wagons in the siding next to the Reading bay platform. Thinking back I think they were lowfits, and they sat around doing nothing for years. However last time I looked they had disappeared... I like to think they were preserved but I doubt it. They the only wagons I seen abandoned for certain, apart from a Frighterliner hopper dumped here in Dorchester for a number of months, probably due to a defect or something.

    Ask Dave

    personal question...what's your favorite region?
  4. I can see where your coming from there. Happened to me a few times. and when i did pre-ordered something it came when i just paid for a holiday. But from a model makers point of view, a model that sells straight away is good for business. While one which sells slowly is bad. So I surspect us two and everyone else in this boat will have to grim and bear this happening alot. Anyway some times you get lucky, toymasters are good places to find things like that!!!
  5. That's a good point I suppose. I shut up...
  6. So I have to pay 100 pounds for a engine I have to cut bits off before I can use it. That doesn't make sense...
  7. Any like tell my Heljan put on the factory detail on their models in such away I can't get the tension lock couplings in? I brought a '33' (mk1) some while ago and found I had to remove most of it to get the tensions in... ...which provide impossible to do with out damaging it. Then I found one of the tensions had a flaw in it. Its sat in my drawer untouched ever since... I thought maybe because it was a special edition it was just a one off, and had been interested in the new 33s, but looking at reviews in Model Rail and BRM it seems they now standard on the new 33s. And all the other products recently released. I had hoped of buying a new 33, a Hymek, and maybe their new parcels railcar at some point but if I have to go though that everytime I won't bother...
  8. I just got mine 'A' one. I'm very pleased with it. Just wish I that a more 1950's Pull-Push set was available (like a 'Brighton set, or maybe LSWR 'emigrant' set). Before anyone says it I know Kernow's gate set will be available one day but the were never seen in Sussex,
  9. Thanks for that joke reminds me of something horrible. When I told my freind my Dukedog turned up, he text me a picture he found when googled 'dukedog'... ... only after my eyes burned out did he say he added 'xxx' on the end of it.
  10. Mine is in the post!!! :-) oh yes!!!
  11. So they allow the ex. GWR push pulls to work with their rod control system, but the much safer ex. SR compressed air system isn't allowed?
  12. When I rang up the model shop I ordered mine from concerning my debit card due to expire soon, I was told middle of January for Dukedog...
  13. Little toplight windows on the doors for one...
  14. How hard would it be to fit nameplates to a model though?
  15. If you now looking after the O2, IoW Brighton Carriages?
  16. Er... Heljan are doing the 1366...
  17. Just to further open this big can of worms (this was brave starting this thread)... Upgraded 'OO' gauge 14xx Swindon 120 class DMU Brighton 'Pull - Push' motor set of carriages GER J15 Although it doesn't reflect my 'wants' some engines of Scottish heritage I think really good for you Bravehearts out there...
  18. So was mine! I can't believe it though a Brighton Atlantic... ...I think I going to be spending more of my money now...
  19. I didn't order on of the eailer sets casue I never know if I have enough money at the time. But since this sold out, I now preordered R4534A from Kernow, and I have to live in hope I have the cash when I get charged for it!!!!
