  1. "Tested but only runs for a few seconds"!!! And just look at that chimney!. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRI-ANG-OO-GAUGE-6042-LOCO-/122269851377?hash=item1c77d9def1%3Ag%3ADZ8AAOSwux5YUazv&_trkparms=pageci%253A2242b97d-c709-11e6-99c4-005056974d32%257Cparentrq%253A1e7db7151590a60624fc3ddeffd4d4fa%257Ciid%253A7
  2. Everyone stay at home then. I believe objectors to railways started with the construction of the Stockton and Darlington. HS2 ( and hopefully HS3 etc) is progress for the greater good.
  3. Thanks. That is a very interesting site.
  4. Agreed. And 10 pictures to boot!
  5. Wow That shot really shows just how small Tube stock is. Are you sure it not N scale?
  6. Apparently seen at Tescos (from Facebook)
  7. Modern trains in NIR are underfloor diesel mechanical. Bring back steam I say. lol
  8. I thought the whole point of electric pickup by overhead wire or third rail was that the electricity could be generated by any method and the same trains and trams would still be able to operate. Central generation rather than on board generation (DEMU) has the advantage of economies of scale and regenerative braking feeding back into the system.
  9. That could be because in the picture the grain seems to be embossed rather than engraved.
  10. There are three photos so that would be either genuine or three photoshop exercises.
  11. There are no rivets to count so out come the micrometers.
  12. I presume Martin has given the correct start dates as opposed to guessing.
  13. Perhaps I missed it in the many pages of this thread but is there an explanation why the linked letter is dated October 1980?
  14. Maybe a blackbird in a cage would be a useful audible warning device.
  15. The prototype lay track very carefully and still depend on fishplates. Why would a model be different?
  16. I am just curious as to what is amusing CHARD and Teaky. My observation is accurate and my query legitimate. On the other hand I am happy to have been able to brighten the day for these two members by bringing some laughter their way.
  17. I agree that keys are a bonus but my query still stands.
  18. The Peco chairs have the keys "inserted" from different sides on alternative sleepers. This is OK for single track but not for double where the keys are inserted in the direction of normal travel. I can't tell from the pictures how the orientation of one key compares to the other key on the same sleeper but I hope it will be possible to rotate alternative sleepers to get the keys all the same way round. I know that means not really RTL but I think it would look better.
  19. And what about the Hornby coach in the Wrenn box!
  20. Sometimes that would be the right thing to do if it were only possible.
