  1. Looking better by the day. Really great work. I especially liked your invention of the hump-backed viaduct in the “panorama” shot. Sorry couldn’t resist the frippery. More pictures are always a treat
  2. I also thought that the stone work was rather chunky, but only in the early stages. As the cladding reaches completion it looks more and more convincing. I suspect mortaring and painting will further enhance the appearance.
  3. Jeff What constitutes normal to a man who thinks nothing of “laying” several thousand 4mm scale stones to clad a viaduct (which is looking fabulous, by the by) Happier 2021 David
  4. Adding the liners already give a more bridge like look. David
  5. Perhaps my use of moan in my earlier post was unfair to Jason who’s comments on Jeff’s work are always constructive. I have never understood the froth colour can cause. At least we’re not getting into loco coulours!
  6. Nothing in modelling rankles more than “correct” colour. Like beauty colour is in the eye of the beholder. Carry on doing the things you are Jeff and as long as it suits you your admires can moan if they like. it’s already stunning. David
  7. Dave This shot appeared on the RailScot site today. it purports to be from 1981 but I’m sure it’s your layout!
  8. Iron ore is pretty dense stuff. The wagons would never cope if they were filled!
  9. This may have appeared on your radar before but I just stumbled on it!
  10. It’s probably too late now as you appear to have your drawings ready but the CRA True Line had a feature on Larkhall around the time of the re-opening.
  11. Jim Reminds me of Larkhall Central. I grew up there in the 60s. As is quite common my interest in railway’s didn’t develop until the structure had been flattened!
  12. I do NOT want to start a frothathon with this! But as a long term subscriber I simply want to know if there is any real information on the date for the next Journal.
  13. Big Shot by The Bonzo Dog Doodah Band. Hilarious and gloriously non PC
  14. Or..... batch build some couplings!
  15. Arrived in ML1! Reason for optimism too. Renewal slip included.
  16. Jim always enjoy your pics. The first one today gives me a glimpse of my former employers new plant at Coleshill. That cold box does dominate!
  17. Dave Is that a photo of your layout on the cover of Traction? (removes tongue from cheek)
  18. Dave This appeared on the Railscot site today. it’s perhaps too late to influence your wall work but does show it up well in bright sunshine
  19. There’s not a lot happening at the club at the moment. No surprise there, then. Steve has been busy though making a “focus stacked” shot looking south down the length of the layout.
  20. As outlined in our Hallside thread our club has been having problems with lack of pulling power of our two pendolinos. Has anybody out there any experience in replacing the drive train these units? David
  21. Wolf Thanks for the comments. If we could get more electrics they would be running. As mentioned above the pendolinos disgraced themselves neither making past early Friday afternoon.
  22. I spoke to someone about the ballast as did Trevor. Glad we could help. Further pictures from Lambie the younger may now take a little longer to appear due to the earlier than expected arrival of his first child. As you can imagine he’s a bit preoccupied, but very happy as are the new grandparents, David
  23. I don’t know who DCC125 is/are but their videos of all the major UK shows are a great way of catching up especially as an exhibitor. This link is the one containing Hallside. Apart from an unannounced visit from Diego Maradonna (aka the hand of god). The layout looks good. Also available for those of you of a robust constitution is a video on the Modelrail Scotland Facebook page. I don’t do Facebook so can’t provide a link. More pictures may appear over the next couple of days from Lambie the younger. The thread will then fade into the background while work ramps on our next projects....... More of which later. Thanks to all of you who came along to see and hopefully enjoy Hallside and the rest of the show. David
  24. I don’t know if we can manage the Sprinter express livery but SPT Orange is on the cards. Hope things are not too desperate at home.
