  1. Have you tried swapping those point motors with another one from a different area of your layout to see if the issues is point motor related or location ?
  2. Hi Don, is this one of the motors you have already had fixed ? Or is this one that has just started clicking ? Also can I ask you which power supply you are using ? Hi Don, is this one of the motors you have already had fixed ? Or is this one that has just started clicking ? Also can I ask you which power supply you are using ?
  3. Hi Don, What voltage are you running your motors on ?
  4. I am looking forward to changing my class 68 bodies as this is one of the few items I am holding onto from my collection...
  5. I was at the Middlesbrough Rail Show last weekend and at least one of the retailers had sound fitted Scotrail and Chiltern 68's so there are still some out there.
  6. I started my layout about 8 years ago in what looks like to be a garage the same size as you .. needless to say i went through three versions of a layouf until i ended up with whag i have now and that is a layout that runs around the outer edge of my garage ... this allows me to reach all parts of the boards .... you do need to make sure the support strips of wood under the layout are not to far apart so the boards do not sag .. and dont pin your track down to close when joining track i used a thin section of plastic to set a 1 mm gap this will allow your track room to expand as it gets warmer as i assume that you laid your track in the winter ? Keep us up to date with your plans.
  7. My DRS 68001 arrived today and I was shocked at how badly it was wrapped ... it only had a very thin layer of bubble wrap on it and a single layer of brown paper, the packaged had been exposed to water and the brown paper was torn away and whilst the loco itself seems to be fine i have yet to test it, visually the DRS box has quite a few dents in it, considering they have gone to the effort of a limited edition box I was sort of expecting it to at least be in an outer brown box for posting.
  8. Very Nice DT ..... looks to have a lot of detail on the loco especially those bogies ...
  9. Lots of fantastic modeling in this thread really really well done.
  10. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and did follow up with a few emails but no response so today I called them and it looks like it will be another week or so until its sent out. at least I know it hasn't gone missing in the post
  11. Thanks for all the feedback ..oncethe loco is returned to me i am going to remove the chip and program it out of the loco.
  12. When people ordered 68001 from DRS how long did it take to arrive and what carrier did they use ?
  13. Hi Charlie i did try that but it still didn't fix it so the second one is now on its way back ....
  14. So I have tested this loco on my Test track and it seems to work ok although the lighting at one end is a bit temperamental so its going back for this reason anyway ... However I have found the reason for the addressing and this is it will only allow single digit addressing to be sett which is a bit odd .. so I can give it : 127 etc but I cannot address it as 67 for example ... Just odd really ...
  15. Hi Phil, I do have another controller that i was planning on trying out on my test track.
  16. Hi Mark I had not tried this but will give it a go later today. Thanks for the responce.
  17. I recently purchased a new Class 67004 Cairo Gorm and it just refused to move so I returned it for a replacement this was easy enough to do so no big issue. Today the replacement arrived and I put it on the track and it's running fine however the lighting at one end did not work so I removed the body checked the small springs at each end and refitted the body and the lighting now seems to work but this loco will not allow me to change the loco address. I think this is the loco I returned and they repaired it or am I wrong about that ?? The loco I sent back would also not take a new address. I have no other locos including Hornby 67's that I cannot address. I have an ECoS DCC Controller. Can anyone suggest anything I can try. Also when I go into advanced on the loco setup and use the detect function the loco just goes to full speed and also fails to complete the detection.
  18. Bloody fantastic. .... thats all ican say ... if i am allowed.
  19. This is definitely worth watching for anyone considering going down this route as it demonstrates how simple this system is. https://youtu.be/64en_uOTsMo
  20. I am definitely adding disc plates to all 3 of mine ... That looks very nice. Order placed today.
  21. I am quite annoyed with myself as i had been looking at the N gauge versions and admiring them last year and completely missed the OO versions and rake of 12 to 15 ( which is what i would opt for ) is a big difference from the pre order amounts .... Just a quick look at the numbers and for 12 at the early bird would have been £444 and now at the cheapest it would be £539 and at the top end £580 .... So definitely kicking myself
  22. Can anyone confirm pricing on these as the Revolution site has the following "we closed the order book on 31 March 2017 so that we can begin production, however our dealers will be stocking this wagon – please contact them directly for reservations. The “early bird” discounted price is £37 (£38.50 for the EWS livery) per wagon and will be open to orders placed by end of June 2016 then the price will rise to the standard price of £40 per wagon (£41.50 for EWS)." Is this still correct ?
  23. Both DRS versions pre-ordered in DCC fitted a few days ago
