  1. That app is only available on iPhone.... So us Android users are left in the cold. And on the blunami section of the soundtrax website they have a poll asking if they should make an android version which says to me that they have no current plans to make an android app. Why does soundtraxx do that to us. Not everyone has the pockets for an apple device. And I'm sorry but buying an old iPhone or iPad for controlling trains is just outright silly.
  2. A train set oval with a slightly longer run then the standard Hornby train set, With a tunnel and a small depot and a station, I will install decorative catenary so I can run Class 87s realistically. Possibly 8x4
  3. There's nobody that doesn't charge an arm and a leg where I live, I just want a layout I can put scenery and easy carry and but into a van without to much trouble or effort. I supposed I can just do a snap track layout with removable scenic section's.
  4. Disclaimer: I can't remember if I asked this before. I saw a video today from budget model railways about building a model railway baseboard from cardboard, as someone who isn't building a realistic Expedition standard layout this idea looks appealing to me. But I want to know if this could work for a scenic train set layout, would having a cardboard board cause problems such as temperature and humidity and track issues., I plan on doing scenery on a budget and won't be spending too much in this project, I very much for a wood baseboard but I don't have the time or the ability or the DIY skills to source wood to make a baseboard.
  5. I'm glad to see rapido trains made statement regarding this, I feel Hornby should be taken down a peg or two. I think Hornby should stick to stuff that customers want and cant get and should stop just leaching of smaller manufacturers using there size as a weapon. I feel like this is just more then legal issues it's more about Hornbys attitude.
  6. I feel like Freelancers or budget modellers can look down at Prototype modellers as much the prototype modellers look down at them, it's also not about price, sometimes it's also the attitude of the community from both sides, both freelance and prototype. Theres was a YouTube channel that encouraged DC operation to save money which is a very excellent advice, but in there official show they had a rule that layouts HAD to Be analogue, which is bit unfair considering some people have made DCC on a budget. Just because a layout doesn't look cheap doesn't mean it wasn't cheap. Some of the most realistic layouts I have seen where made with handmade buildings, Low budget DCC, and kitbashed rolling stock. I don't know about anyone else but I feel like Prototype modellers sometimes get alot of slack for this when it does exist in the other end of the model railway spectrum aswell. I'm saying this as person in the freelance spectrum. I know this may seem unrelated to the thread but this subject is about the price of model Railways which is one of the things that buts people of, so I thought I would just make a point of this. In whole though almost the entire community is awesome but I feel like both people with a limited budget and time and those with more time and money should be considered.
  7. Thanks, but I didn't design it. Will make some minor changes to avoid mixing Flex track and Setrack
  8. I will be using modern 2 rail but I guess it will work the same becuase Dublo is the same . That's what I like about 00 is that track plans for larger or smaller scales can be adapted for it.
  9. 1. No particular era 2. No 3. mainline for zooming, yard for shunting. 4. My layout with evolve around my stock, I have only 2 train. Apologies if it seems like I lashed out, I'm just slightly annoyed today because I had to deal with a person on another forum (Not train related) mass trolling and Harrassing, I don't usually mind a Non-perfect answer. Anyway, Coming back to the original point, basically a fun layout you can "Play trains" like an old Hornby railway's layout.
  10. Most locomotives run on 3rd radius. So I curves is not an issue for me personally.
  11. Yes I can reach all sides. I seem to have no issues reaching.
  12. It's looks cool. But I feel like I could add a second running line to it.
  13. I found a layout which looks good, it's not so cramped but it looks fun because a few trains can run around while I do some shunting. what do you think of this one?
  14. I would also recommend not bothering with any kind of finscale track system if your budget is limited. That's for if you have some extra funds to throw at it. Finscale track is nice but standard Hornby and PECO track works and can be made to look Good.
  15. After being In-desicive and struggling planning on my first proper layout, I've been given a 8x4 Board from my parents to go in my bedroom, (Yes I no nobody likes 8x4), but that is what I have to work with so it will have to do. Does anyone have any ideas for a 00 Gauge 8x4 trackplan that will have operating interest, and something moving at all times if possible. I'm not after any specific prototype I just want an fun layout where I can run trains and shunt wagons. I understand the limitations of 8x4.
  16. I've decided for my first Proper model railway I want a model of inverness or fort William in modern times, but Im having trouble finding Track diagrams because most of the ones I found are historic and not modern, I've tried google earth and maps but it is not clear enough to see the trackwork. Does anyone know where I can find track diagrams.
  17. He plans on being able to run three trains at once.
  18. My friend has a twin track 00 Layout with a gaugemaster twin track controller (Non wall mounted), but he plans on adding a third loop to the layout, does he have to buy a new controller to be able to add the third track or can an extra controller be connected, if so how can this be done?.
  19. Looks like i will do Locofi Then. That is very tragic storys I've heard from any business.
  20. I can imagine how many developer headaches that causes. I am prepared to wait for the android version, it's Just a little bit annoying not having it on android yet.
  21. Actually, the developer license is cheaper for Google then IOS. I don't understand from a user's perspective but from a Developers perspective I understand, except for the cost of development. Also a bit of clarification: I meant making any progress not making only progress. I hate typos.
