  1. Been busy recently with work and domestic duties, however just got chance to start on another 66709, in true to form fashion, now I have completed my original 66709, GBRF have gone and repainted Sorento into a new livery, reviewing the new livery it is easier to start from scratch rather than repaint my earlier attempt. I have also started on 66711 in its new silver livery but as can be seen from the picture, the donor loco's numbers are bleeding through the silver despite having paint stripped the body and given a coat of Halfords primer. Probably have to revisit the stripping bath.
  2. Tell me about it, I am fitting a new kitchen and need to get finished so I can repaint 66709 into its new livery
  3. Have you thought about scrubbing the weld lines, then just fill them with a dark wash prior to weathering ?.
  4. Fantastic Nick, the Gypsum's are real inspiration, I must get on with mine.
  5. Hi Andrew, The decals for 709 I made myself, just drew them in MS Paint, then printed them off onto Crafty decal paper. Richard
  6. Merry Christmas Nick, Thanks for all the inspiration.
  7. Hi David, Very nice layout. Merry Christmas
  8. Hi David, The 20's are Bachmann, 189 was a green sound fitted, 142 was BR Blue. The decals are from Steve at Railtec http://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1432 Richard
  9. Big Thanks to Mick, got chance to have a couple of my loco's make guest workings on New Bryford today at the Wakefield Show. 66709 passing through light loco 66718 coming off the station.
  10. Out today and managed to catch a Colas 60 and 2 Deltics in the same frame. Back home and finished another loco, 66718, I have been working on this for about 8 weeks, lot of computer time designing the decals. Big Thanks to Mr Beast who kindly allowed me to use his base photograph's for the decals. It's not quite 100% but overall I am pretty pleased with it.
  11. On a bit of a roll, finished another project today, six more FEA-S, two GBRf and four in GBRf Metronet livery. All I need now is 60 Gypsum containers
  12. Thanks for the kind words guy's. 66709 must be my lucky loco, I've seen it for the last 3 consecutive days on the West Burton - Portbury Gypsum working. Apologies for the poor video but it was raining at 4.55 this morning
  13. Spent this morning at Doncaster Decoy, then came home and finished off 66709.
  14. 37423 as promised, fitted with Legomanbiff's new 37/4 West Highland chip, sounds fantastic. Some say, you can never have too many DRS 37's !!!
  15. Rather than keep posting in my ballast cleaner thread in the Kit building section, I thought I would start a new thread to show off some of my recent projects. My favourite pair of loco's. My first 56 that I have resprayed, sound fitted yesterday. Clic Sargent waiting for Big Jim to sign on. 66710 after its second visit to the paint shop, I just finished the loco last month in its interim Europorte livery, then GBRf repainted it into full Europorte livery, so it was back to the bench for the full treatment. Another Loco who's livery is now obsolete, 66434 and my effort to replicate the Malcolm livery it wore. My RM80 Ballast Cleaner in pseudo Colas colours Debranded W&SR 67012 waiting for a test train. One of my Freightliner FEA conversions into a Super Salmon. Some of my EWS engineers wagons I have been weathering I am just finishing off 37423 in new DRS livery, so will try and post a couple of pictures later.
  16. Having just finished my 434 in Malcolm livery, I have just realised it is now back in DRS blue !!!!!!!
  17. Mick, My money is on 66718, that has a blue roof Currently at work, so this is the only photo I have on my effort of 434
  18. Hi Jack, Nice job, for the coupling I initially tried Kadee's and a NEM pocket as fitted to the original coupling end but had problems going around curves, I have since made an extended brass rod similar but longer than the original coupling bars supplied with the wagon and they now run great, the only downside is that the wagons are still coupled in pairs but for my layout operations that doesn't matter.
  19. YSA Workshop Runner wagon as requested, just requires a little detailing and a light weathering to complete.
  20. Evening Paul Thought you would like a couple of pictures of the Mk1 RM95 being stabled at Linfit West after its move from Parcels Point. I have started a thread on my HOBC modelling http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/86401-hobc-ballast-cleaner/&do=findComment&comment=1468123 Regards Richard
  21. Hi Paul, MFS wagon is 46' over the buffers. I have sent you an email with something that should help. Richard
  22. Been away from home in Aberdeen for the last week but managed to make good progress this weekend, got the primary scenery plastered and painted, track weathered and this morning got the platform tops in place. This afternoon actually got time to run a few trains.
