  1. Hi all after watching a DVD on Czech Railways I was fascinated by the whole area the DVD showed a lot of DB stock running on CD lines. Anyway as I said I was fascinated by it so much so that I've just ordered a ROCO class 754 (don't ask why I never know :jester:) now I need to find something to run behind the 754 I believe this loco would as a rule run on passenger working is that right?

  2. I've had mine on the rolling-road for around 4 hours or so running both ways since I got it. I keep giving it a look every now and again while working at my bench. Just have to keep the old fingers crossed :O

  3. Just been running-in mine (1603 D8407) on a rolling road- OK in the forward direction but after about 5 mins at 50% in the reverse direction, the same occurrence, lots of smoke and failure - what a pity

    (call to Hattons' required now)

So what do you think? Is it the motor going pop or maybe the wiring. It seems both yours and Gridwatcher's went within minute's of starting to run.

  4. I can only repeat what I said earlier, to me it looks the part and I really like it. I'm sorry if other people have had running problem I dare say you'll always get the odd duff one. I don't have a layout that it will look right on yet ( just seems odd next to a class 66) but I'm really starting to think I'll restart my small London layout just for the class 16 and 15 :sungum:

  5. Without wanting to offend anyone can I just say how disappointed I am that people are so keen to find fault with the class 16 which is to my mind is one of the best RTR locos I've seen in a long time. As someone has already said when  Heljan told us about the loco everyone know what it would look like it was no secret there were photos everywhere.

I really like both my class 15 and 16 I'm sure I'll be adding another to the shed before long.

  6. Don't know a lot about the motor ie 3-pole etc but I do know its a very smooth runner. :senile:  Also not sure about the RRP of £155 as Hatton's and most other sellers are selling them for £107

  7. I never thought I'd say this but after fitting a chip into my class 16 it run's as well if not better then my Atlas and Kato locos :O  I'm still not sure what to do about the couplings I want to fit a kadee  but   removing all the detailing Heljan has fitted seems such a shame

On the subject of Kadee couplings my class 15 is fitted with number 19 kadee's I know 18's are to short I fit them to my rolling stock. I was wondering  has anyone fitted Kadee's to their class 16 yet? :paint:

  8. I've got one on the bench for an ER pal. Once I work out how it all fits together, I'll be fitting a 141, 146 or 148 (depending on how everything lines up) in a 242 box direct to the chassis which will allow the pipework to be left in place.

We had it trundling round his layout light engine yesterday evening and it runs as well as it looks, it is also almost silent at low speed. He did several turns on the class as second man working out of Stratford and reckons they were at Devons Road before they got them.

This loco has to be a strong contender for Model of the Year in my book.

My problem will be justifying one turning up in Dorset.........

    John

I once had a really nice holiday in Dorset, so I'm sure you can justify almost anything down there if you really try

  9. I never thought I'd say this but after fitting a chip into my class 16 it run's as well if not better then my Atlas and Kato locos :O  I'm still not sure what to do about the couplings I want to fit a kadee  but   removing all the detailing Heljan has fitted seems such a shame

  10. I've given mine a good run out on the rolling-road which the loco seemed to like (unlike my 17).  The next thing I think is fitting a chip, maybe the Bachmann 21 pin chip as its the only one I'm used to...any thoughts :sungum:

  11. Nice man in a van just dropped mine off, really, really nice little loco and for its size it has some weight to it. Had it on the rolling road for the last 10mins :senile:

Heads up to Hatton's great job.

  12. Word from Hatton's is the packing dep't  are working their way through pre-orders (lot's and lot's). Seems my order has been 'picked' and is due to be posted tomorrow :jester: ok so I'm selfish sue me

  13. I got an email this morning telling me they had merged my orders and they would be sending me the picking dispatch details once they arrive in stock.

'Once they arrive in stock?' Please tell you ordered more then 16's :O

  14. I assume you mean the cab interior. It might help to have a driver and second man figure each side of the cab, elbows on the window-ledge.

Hi yes I did mean the interior, and your right a driver would help

  15. I was just about to say how do you all put up with the waiting :O

Mind you the photos on e-bay kinda show the cab is not overly well detailed
