  1. Pretty certain the 31 is a full new model, i.e. chassis upgrade as you say and new body to represent the refurbed body. Steve
  2. Didn't Hornby already do the Gresley buffet in blue/grey. IIRC there where complaints because of both cost and tooling (Hornby painted some of glazing grey to get round body issues). Steve
  3. If people are wanting re-tooled class 37 or 47 I'll wishlist all new Bachmann class 26 or 33.
  4. I can't remember where I read it, but I thought Kernow were getting costs for doing the 3 car Hampshire. Not so sure Bachmann will announce this with the 2HAP & 4BEP still outstanding. AC EMU to go with 85 & 90 maybe.... Edit: Think it was a response to a question on social media.
  5. I'm afraid I've developed a glass half empty mentality in my desire for a Farish 2 HAP or EPB EMU to go with MY CEPs, Bachmann have destroyed my faith so I'll whimper about how it would be nice for a rerun of the 3 car class 101 in original green, blue/grey and even an 80s version of Strathclyde PTE. Mk2 BFK would be handy.
  6. Hi. It was either Hornby or Rail Express Modeller as they are the only two I read & it was roughly the time of the announcements earlier this year. Unfortunately following a house move a lot of my stuff is still in boxes so I can't be more precise. It didn't elaborate on any details of what was being done though. I would also add it was the only place I saw it mentioned.
  7. I'd like to see TTS sound on Railroad models that haven't been done yet, maybe classes 26 & 33. It was reported in the model press that a retool was being carried out on the VEP. Quite interested to see if something materialises on that front. Mk1 buffet or sleepers maybe, other than that - not a clue.
  8. Hi Ben & Mike. I have contacted you directly through your website, but have received no reply. Have all the N gauge models been sent out please. I am still waiting for mine. Regards Steve
  9. I used the website chat facility thinking I would be talking 'live' with somebody, after 20 minutes of waiting a response the facility cut out without response to my question, so I ordered what I wanted elsewhere, the item duly arrived less than 48 hours later. A further 24 hours after said item arrived I got a response to my question through my e-mail, alas too late.
  10. Thanks Andy for posting. The Mk2s look magnificent and I have no interest in the 8F, so why am I drooling looking at it. Superb.
  11. Hornby released this coach along with the 3 other coaches that made up the prototype SR 4 set. The product codes are R4607/08/09 & 09a. All have lights. I don't have to hand the individual coach numbers or set number but Hornby did number the coaches correctly for the set.
  12. WH Smiths in Chichester haven't had any parts of this. I either go to Worthing, Havant or Portsmouth or order online, which I'd rather not do as I sometimes find magazines get damaged in the post.
  13. I'll have a skipper - maybe even 2 if you were to offer alternate running numbers like the 143, but only with the 4 leaf doors as original.
  14. If this is true I find it very disappointing that Bachmann have formed this attitude, frankly they have never backed up the N gauge 4CEP in the same way they did in OO. In OO gauge Bachmann announced the 2EPB even before the 4CEP was released and have/are followed/ing it up with MLV, HAP & BEP (not to mention Kernow's SR units). Maybe if they had shown the same commitment to the SR EMUs in N gauge as they have in OO it may have been more of a success. It should be also said that other than the initial runs of the OO 4CEP, follow up runs have been subject to heavy discounting by retailers, of course the first runs of the OO 4CEP also came about prior to Bachmanns annual price increases so could be had remarkably cheaply which may have inflated sales. I have reached the point where I am now considering walking away from N gauge as I am unable to achieve what I want to do without any further SR EMUs, something I can do easily in OO. I wouldn't expect Bachmann to replicate everything in N gauge that they have done in OO, but certainly a N gauge 2EPB (or preferably for me 2HAP) would help. Steve
  15. AC Models in Eastleigh had the I/C TSO and both blue/grey and swallow liveried buffet/first in atock this afternoon. Would have bought except I have pre-ordered the TSO.
  16. Like those. I know they are initial paint samples but the NSE blue appears to be the later darker blue rather than the lighter blue.
  17. If Hornby had packaged the 71 with blue/grey Mk1s they may have enticed me....
  18. Is it really a MK2 or a MK2a disguised?
  19. The futures bright. The futures N gauge. Got my class B tanks today and over the moon with them and will certainly be getting several VEAs and very interested in the WR variant of class 128. I would be even happier if Revolution offered the WR version in Royal Mail red (as 55992........please, pretty please)
  20. Thanks for the link Andy. Just read through your thread - very interesting.
