There has been some brass kits of gnr coaches on ebay of late. Could you not adapt ratio kits. Worsley works or 3d print might be the only other option. For tram style coach, Bachmann Thomas range might be useful. Mike

Prototype practice in Lampeter

I would agree with that as well, as it not like locos or heritage railway where they can be easy to trace than some item's.like po wagons as they could disappear without knowledge if sent to some where else with the same name. -

I have ordered the track but in part's to spread the cost but it is a start. One new unit to join the gwili roster if it happened is a class 142 pacer Hornby one which with help from some fellow modellers have we got it running smooth. 5526 is due to come to the railway, be nice to see small prairie again on gwili metals. I have sent a loco off for being built to mountain Ash loco no 1 Hudswell clarke 0-6-0. https://images.app.goo.gl/JVVJ9vN9agjXBcTCA -

It might be worth visiting a industrial museum to help you with goods train. Also look in Old newspapers as some use to report what ships were in harbour but also what was coming out and in through the port. Another to help plan the length of the train is what is the power rating of the locomotives. Some South Wales coal trains could between 40-60 wagons. Also look at old Bradshaw timetable books as it will be useful in some ways. Mike

I have gone through the 16 OS Maps and found one which is still in use as the Gwili Railway main station. I am going to get copies done to protect them, find some suitable accommodation for them. Mike -
Why not make them Into slip coaches? You can add and detach without trouble of stopping to shunt. Might be worth reading about the Kent and East Sussex railway a very interesting line mixture of stock and working and one on the mid Suffolk light railway another interesting practice of railway workings. Also worth reading about light railways very handy when planning period railways Mike

I have ordered the fiddle yard boards but had to send them back due to warping whilst they had been kept at courier depot near something warm. A real shame at least they could be replaced. A rare find 1906 OS Maps covering the line from Carmarthen to Newcastle Emlyn very interesting items. -

Worked out how many board's I will need to order, it will be 8 altogether 4 each side. After measuring with my longest loco and a coach did I work on my shelf test board did I found a formula for how mand boards will be needed. Both together were about 30 inches which left 5 inches left on 1 of the shelves board which showed me how much longer I needed. -

The boards have come and now seeing which model shop has got track. Going to be using model tech track joiners to help with power supply between each board. Doing one boring but most important job to do measuring up stock to work out the length of the train fiddle yard to see I have got to order more boards. Work in progress Rosyth no1 in working order when at gwili. Hattons model. -

Prototype practice in Lampeter
kingfisher9147 replied to Nevermakeit's topic in UK Prototype Questions
From chatting to some guys on a facebook singalbox page group. I found out that most bricks were to a standard size mainly depending on the length of box. very rare it was changed or a odd size brick unless it came from a local source. mike -

I don't think bricks on signal box were changed that much unless work needed to be done. To make them safe but would be a interesting to know if any boxes still had the same bricks. I will have to have to look at on the one on the gwili at BA as that was moved from it original site. On another note the Bradshaw guide was a let down only time tables not info on the area. Will have to do more research. Mike -
Thanks. Mike

What chassis are you using on the 0-6-0 sharp Stewart? I am looking to find one to do the Manchester and milford loco used on the Aberystwyth to carmarthen before the gwr took over.

Edwardian great work slowly catching up with it. Did you find a model to do 0-4-2 loco for gnr loco? I found one based on early gwr auto tank. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/stafford_road_model_works Mike
