Hi All, I am planning to model my own heritage railway where i help out as a volunteer. The Gwili steam railway. I've decided to go freelance for the period as with a heritage railway, i can run what is there on the line both now, the past and the future. As it on the old Carmarthen to aberystwyth line I can turn it to a full GWR line if I want. I've chosen the sites of several locations on the railway, BA Mpd, LLC, as it mainly used for events and I can use some of my narrow gauge or n gauge stock for the miniature railway and Conwil. I have already got a track plan of sorts worked out but things are on hold with lockdown, clearing space to store it. I am planning to use scenery model railway supplies micro layouts that fits into the christmas tree box. with a fiddle yard each end. I am planning to keep it simple so the picnic area and the bridge are out. I would have done them if it would be a permanent fixed layout than a module one. I have started to collect the stock for the line, even made a list of what been there and still is there currently which has been some fun finding out about them. I've even found out some interesting information about what use to run on the line in GWR days and BR days. I will update when I can. I will also put the list up of stock. mike

Hi all, is there any website or books about model railways listing what models are done for a certain region like the GWR or the LMS? I have been looking what is about in OO gauge but not many are showing a list of what been made. it mainly out of curiosity than start another region of model off. mike

Dear all, I have got a Triang/Hornby dmu 101 unit which had the route blind light up via pick up from the bogie. Since I have rewheel the unit due to damaged wheel, I can't light the unit up via the pick ups. what I need some help with is what is best to go with? I've seen some on Ebay light units etc but I am unsure as I have not gone for coach light before. what I am looking for is either to replace the bulb with a LED, some wire and a resistor and switch to turn it off and on. can anyone give me some advice before I spend money please. thanks mike

I would like to see a model of Peckett W6 which shares the same chassis as a W4, but also some of the special that peckett done like Merlin peckett w6-s. and many others. mike

I have managed to replace them. I bought 2 pairs off ebay via peter spares who do their own wheels, pop them in. it runs very smooth . Just got to re- work the wiring for the destination board as it does not pick up from the wheels anymore. mike

CSP models and Judith Edge kits do some nice intrustial 4mm scale locos. mike

thanks, I will have a look and see what i can find. I have measured the wheels and found that peter spares do some, so I am going to give them a try.

HI All, I am looking for replacement wheels for Hornby railway class 101 dmu trailer unit, it's got plastic wheels which are all chipped and cracked. any ideas please? thanks mike

Swansea show in the NWM 3/4 OCTOBER mike

Not long now until the NFW event in swansea. doing the last check on loco and layout. I will be there with my 009 stock as well as my N gauge layout but also with my own figure painting servce as well as helping to man the Gwili railway stand. mike

camarthen show was ok but need more thing of intrested only one train layout in N gauge very nice the rest were diorama's! I've just had my form for the swansea show, filling it in. work on the layout has began. mike

got the times for the show in swansea 31st aug-1st sept 11am -4 pm. already working on my layout for the event this year plus some new things I have been planing. mike

the one in the waterfront museum in swansea is on again this year on the 31st aug-1st september. I have been told,been asked to take my layout down there again. their is one in carmethern the 4th of may in the libary. mike
