  4. just found a video of the Ärend"in action , on 5:00 it starts, and about 1:00:00 the locoparade begins with City of Truro in action during these parades https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddRQYCQ5FXU
  5. In 1989 i made a short ride during 150 years celebrations of the Dutch railways, a replica the first train in the Netherlands caulled the "Arend" from 1839. They had laid a circle of track with a sort of tunnel and everyone who would try could make a free ride. I was in the second class coach the yellow one on the photo, open but with roof, i made the ride , but it was really deafening, strengthens by the enclosure of the roof, with all the squeaky noises and horrible in the tunnel, i was nearly deaf when i got out
  6. Anyone noticed the following text on the end of last Engine Shed? I was looking for the next date for the following Engine Shed and found this in the last words of Octobers Engine Shed, not read before. and no date mentioned for next one. ------------------------------------------------------ This brings to an end, my editorship of the Engine Shed. Next month and every month after that, Hornby's new researcher,James Bryant will be taking over the role, so for now, thank you for reading, thank you for your continued support and please stay safe and well. Simon Kohler ------------------------------------------------------ Looks like , Simon has handed it over.
  7. Just succeeded early this morning to order the very last one 6336 from Hattons to orderit was going fast
  8. So, 6385 is wrong for shirtbutton livery i understand , but just found a photo of 6336 at Swindon 1953 with outside steam pipes and one in Laira 1961. When did 6336 received those.?
  9. According Great Western Archive between July 1928 and August 1958 ,163 members of the class were fitted with outside steampipes , so it seems over a long period.
  10. I just noticed the prodution sample of the shirtbutton version 6385 have outside steam pipes and the production model have none.
  11. Don't pay to much , Hornby have them for pre order again on their site 16,99,think they have ordered an extra batch.
  12. There is a new Engine Shed now, with decorated new models W1 and 2MT
  13. Colfix Ltd was registered in 1927 and dissolved in 1948, but was in 1938 nearly dissolved according The London Gazette of 1938 mentioned in the left collum of the article , see PDF HMRS has a picture from 1927, of a 14 ton tankwagon, the same livery as Oxford rail but with running number 33, maybe Oxford rail have based theirs on this picture. But it is clearly this Oxford model is pre war. data.pdf
  14. this explains a lot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDN7PPW4AE8
  15. well , it's gone now try it on the site of Hornby, but no new ES, maybe later on.
  16. On Hornby's last Engine Shed they said on the end of all, the next regular will be on 18th of September, so one week more to wait
  17. Thanks for your responce, but i just noticed there are now 7 in stock, maybe they where in stock on the moment i placed the order but not yet visable in stock on the site, i don't know how the system works, but maybe a overlap item in the system? But thanks again for your quick responce BTW , very happy with the trunk option Cor
  18. This afternoon i put a pre- order in my trunk and was charged directly for 20,- pound while the item is not in stock, It says on order on the site and will be a redelivery of the Hornby GWR brake van. all my pre-orders before i put in pre-order and nothing charged. A bit strange, because iff you order a lot of pre-orders directly in your trunk you could be charged for hunderds of pounds, while it could take a year before releases of the item. For this item no problem because it will be soon in stock again. Does this happend to others?, or is this a fault in the system. From now on i put my pre-orders in the pre-order and not in the trunk anymore
  19. Looking at Hattons photographs, its the 1939 on version, it does not have the earlier 10 bolt smokebox door, was hoping for this special one, and an early built, maybe future releases of other Pricess Royal loco's are earlier build.
  20. Anyone noticed there are 4 type of chimney fronts on the sprues for the original built one, for future release versions? The rebuilt versions is one piece of body, so not for this one.
  21. Received Brighton last Friday , have two SR versions 2662 and Bembridge, and was no intention to by others but could'nt resist Brighton, as Jenny says this pretty colour, i was lost and bought one. Now to wait for Hattons LBSCR 4/ 6 wheel coaches, what a nice couple this will be.
  22. In Hornby's Engine Shed from 24/04 they showed some photographs of the new batch R6938 and they are speaking of colour corrected, but not clear of they are speaking about the photographs or the model, but they are speaking about note of concerns send to their Development manager. Here are those photographs , looks to me the colour is corrected, but we will see when they are in the shop for shure.
