  5. I think Captain Tom Moore is much more than a fund raiser alone, he become for the people in your country someone to hold on in this heavy times with over 26000 dead on the moment. People see that even if you are 100 years of age, you can achieve a lot, he united the people and give them hope. I think he is a little bit as Winston Churchill who gave people hope and believe in WW2, it's not war now but there is a unvisible enemy. I think he is an hold on to many people now. He earned to get this loco named to him, he didn't asked for anything but he's worth it. After all Winston Churchill got a named loco too. If people see this loco, everybody knows Tom Moore now, wondering how many people know if its named Nightingale would mean. So its up to your Queen now, " Sir" Tom would appropiate. If singers got a title why not him. I was very moved this morning when i see the fly past, to honour his birthday and what he have done for your country
  6. It looks the LSWR brake van has now colour corrected by Hornby for the new batch release
  7. According David Gould ,listing about coaches all TO are before the war loose coaches after the war they appear in some sets.
  8. Indeed, it is a hobby, but lets not forget, our buyings employed worldwide then of thousends people, they depending their income on our hobby. It is a big chain, Hornby, Bachmann , Dapol and many others, factory , shops, suppliers for the factorys etc. etc. Without this hobby, all would be unemployed. So, lets keep the chain going, as far as we can in the circumstances, not only for this but also for many other items we use. If we don't , the world economy will colapse eventually.
  9. Thanks ,indeed, i've looked at the youtube review of Sams trains of 6221 and in the closeups you can clearly see those dark outer lines, i never noticed these before, so very fine they are. I don't have the blue one , only Duchess of Hamilton in Crimson, But for the ordered coaches i will have Coronation 6220, think this will go a stunning train.
  10. If we look at the body colour of the scheme, it looks more on the RAL 5011 colour as presented in my reply, don't think there will be an extra lining, can not see such lining on all the pictures, movies i've seen of these coaches and loco's .
  11. That's why they release R 3857 Coronation 6220, the first runner with the Coronation Scot train. Anyone noticed the colour in their colour scheme, they mentioned the following " RAL 9006/ RAL 5011, lining position vital! To match R3858 etc." First R 3858 does'nt exist on Hornby 's site , i assume they ment R 3857, second Ral 9006 for lining is silver white, but RAL 5011 looks very dark to me and not near Caladonian blue. RAL colours acording internet search, but RAL 5011 is much darker than Coronation 6220 loco colour.
  12. Some information about the interior, some wood veneer used from the old pilers from the Waterloo bridge in London demolished in 1936.
  13. This looks great , looking forward for these coaches, as the RFO is with the tabletop lamps as the SR restaurant coach and every coach is with great detail, all these are gone be a great train in blue with silver streaking And with the fortcoming Princess Coronation 6220 we have the train of 1937.
  14. Hattons is for over 12 years now, my first shop to buy, last monday i orderred a Hornby Princess Royal loco they offer different possibilities for shipping. Could choose for Royal Mail air for 6,80 or DPD for 7,- pound, did go for DPD, was shipped monday , received yesterday, only 2 days from the UK to the Netherlands, never so fast in the last 12 years, and i could follow it by tracking all the way, mostly 5-10 days taking by Royal Mail air. So with this option, I will go often for DPD, have done this for a few times now and will choose every time i place a big order. A year ago i bought a Hornby Castle loco from Rails it was about 12 pound cheaper than Hattons, but they did not send it by Royal Mail but with GLS, cost 15 pound shipping, but could not see it by ordering, because they ad it on the moment by shipping, after the order is placed. After 2 weeks it was not arrived , so mailed them where it was, they got it back from GLS, it was not deliverrable they said, i got a mail from Rails with the delivery times from GLS but on those times i was at home, but they didn't ring on the door neither even a card for noting they were at the door, nothing at all. Others here in the Netherlands did had the same problem with GLS send by Rails. So i had to pay another 15,- pound for re shipping, this time i order to sent especcialy by Royal mail, it arrived a week later, but it sufferd from all those travel , a few parts were broken of. In total it cost me 30,- pounds for shipping, so no other orders from Rails anymore unless they have a special item i cannot buy anywhere else. It cost me a lot more money than if i did order it from Hattons, never trouble with shipping from them over the last 12 years. And for the bargains, some times Hattons, some time, as mentioned here before Modelrailways Direct offerd many items for much lesser than both Rails and Hattons in the last 2 great sales, on a Princess Coronation loco 30,- pound less than the 2 famous one mentioned above. And several Scenecraft Bachmann for a realy bairgain others could not compete. Modelrailways Direct shipping cost is calculated on the end by the weight of items, a little bit more than Hattons, but with pricing very competing it will still be cheaper. And since Hattons do not have any new Bachmann in the collection , all these are now ordered from Modelrailways Direct. And i have very good experience with them for over a year now. The pre-owned item from Hattons are sometime having very interesting items, but their pricing is very strange, on the same item more than a few in stock the difference can be up to 10 pounds, while they all in the same condition. But if you surfing on the net you can find some items for a lesser price from small shops, it take some time, but it will spare you some money.
  15. Now in stock at Hornby Charity Colliery , hopefully next week at Hattons, have one in pre order for over a year now. So we will see it soon
  16. And here is the making of Princess Royal 6207 pure craftsmanship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuSlq_loG4Y

  18. Princess Royal 6201 at stock with Hornby today , also the TTS sounddecoder for the Princess class in stock. Soon in the shops now
  19. Some colour films of the Coronation Scot You can on some part see the first coaches behind the loco are BTK and RTO And second one Golden age of steam at 4:40 the Coronation Scot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYERL1YgulA
  20. In the book "Big Four in colour 1935-1950" by David Jenkinson , there's a colour picture of 864 Sir Martin Frobisher taken at Waterloo station with a West of England express, with the newly fitted Le Maitre chimney and Malachite livery and lining on the smoke deflectors, outer side black with fine yellow lining. Dated July 1939, so same livery as the Hornby, we can asume this is pre war liverey. Hope this will help
  21. Waiting years for this to come. More information on here of the Coronation Scot https://www.wondersofworldengineering.com/streamlined-expresses.html
  22. Unexpected Christmas edition, Engine shed today all about the Princess Royals, Mk3Sd coaches and Merchant Navy's in new liverie
  23. All others are due for spring 2020 according Hornby's site since this week, so not on the boat yet i assume. R 3723/ x are expected winter 2019-20, so this will ment after 21 December, so if all goes well before Christmas it will hit the shops very soon.
  24. The switch used is an impulse one, no permanent switch, otherwise the motordrive is burned up. There are 2 switches supplied with the package and that all for a average price of 55,20 at shops. If compared with the other signals from Dapol at a average of 26,00 a single one, you get two signals on a bracket ,plus bouncing device and two switches, i say a very good price for it. Hope in future more of this in SR and LMS types.
