  1. I think you may need a few more 37's Neil as there just don't seem to be enough of them in this photo lol. Terry
  2. Well i'm only working fast because i have a bit of time on my hands at the moment which is good as i have this photo shoot coming up soon so i really want to get as much done as possible.
  3. The rock face/hillside next to the scenic fiddle yard is now fully painted using lots of different shades of grey, black and browns and then i went over the edges with white. All that is needed now is the grass, bushes and trees etc but that will be done last once the mainline and stream is complete at the back as i have to lean over the layout and will end up making a mess of all the scenic work.
  4. The concrete bridge has now had three coats of concrete colour paint which i think is enough to cover the primer and look good too. The road section above still needs to be done as well as the little details and weathering and it will be ready to be glued into place.
  5. Evening Today i painted the interior parts for the signal box and are now glued in place....i just need to add some interior and exterior lighting to it before it is placed onto the layout.
  6. Cheers mate...yeah i have got a lot done of late but i still have so much to do! Shes a nice loco ain't she!!!
  7. Cheers mate but it is only the very start of it as there is still so much more work to do on it before it good enough to show.
  8. Thanks guy's yeah i'm well and truly in the zone right now with still so much to do but it really is getting there now. There is only a month to go until the shoot so i am working hard to get as much done as possible plus i am going on holiday for ten days in between now and then so it's all hands on deck.
  9. And to finish off the days work in the loft i got the first few coats of paint onto the hillside. This was done using a few shades of grey's, black, and a few different browns in acrylic paints sprayed on using water spray bottles as it makes the colours non uniform which looks better....i just need to let it all dry over night and apply some more coats tomorrow and then repeat the day after until i am happy with how it looks then to finish it off i dry brush white paint to the edges of the rocks then i will add some grass, bushes and trees etc. The wooden frame below will also need painting black and that will be done by hand to tidy it all up.
  10. Whilst i was bridge building i started the construction work on the stream/dyke but it is hard to see from the photos what i am trying to achieve but all will become apparent...(hopefully).
  11. Hi all Today i spent a few hours mocking up this road bridge....it is made from 5mm foam board so it stays nice and rigid then clad in 30 thou plastkard. It is now ready to be primed and painted into concrete then weathered.
  12. Also in the post today came a Ratio signal box interior which i have been meaning to buy for a while now so over the weekend i will paint and fit the interior as well as fit some lighting inside the signal box so it's ready to plant.
  13. Hi all My flexi track and points arrived today so i managed to get a couple more hours in the loft to crack on with the scenic fiddle yard. The track plan is not 100% yet and i am still playing around with it. I started to carve out the hillside and fill in the gaps ready to paint which is a job for the weekend.
  14. Very nice mate.....i have a Heljan class 26 in rail freight grey too and i have always fancied getting a class 35 hymec. I have a Heljan class 14 teddy bear on order which i should receive sometime this week hopefully.
  15. Hi all Today i started shaping up the hillside down beside the scenic fiddle yard. Still lots to do yet but hopefully you get the idea. I am waiting for an order to arrive for some more points and flexi track as well as lots of other things like the signal box interior so i can fix that in place and i am also waiting on a new loco to arrive which has been on my wish list for a long time.
  16. Hi all Yet another update...today i think i have now completed most of the woodwork for the scenic fiddle yard. I have only roughly laid the track to see what it will look like and are still playing around with it as i would like to add two carriage sidings and three loco/dmu sidings with a couple of fueling points and a few little yard buildings at the end. I also would like to add a small wooden carriage shed if there is room and build it to look as tho it is very old and dilapidated and has never been looked after. The cut out section between the sidings and the mainline will be a small stream/dyke with culverts at both end and a couple of mini footbridges. The outer edge of the siding will be overgrown hillside all the way up to where the mainlines meet by the signal box. I am at the planning stage so if anyone has any good ideas or suggestions i would love to hear of them.
  17. It's not quite a bug but i am just thinking of only running locos from the 80's/90's as i hardly ever run my more modern stuff so if i sell some i can get more stuff from the 80's if you know what i mean.
  18. No it was the Heljan class 33 we talked about mate.
  19. FOR SALE.... Also on the sales list is my Hornby Pendolino...it is the standard four car version and is in mint condition and comes DCC fitted. It runs smoothly in both directions and it has only been run a few times in it's life. It does not come in a box as it was part of a train set but will be packed well for delivery. I have not put a price on this model as i am not sure what it's worth so am looking for offers.
  20. FOR SALE.... Hi all I have decided to yet again sell a few more locos and want to give you all first refusal before they go on Evilbay. First up is my Bachmann MPV Windhoff which has hardly ever been run and has been weathered by myself and will come with a Bachmann 21 pin decoder fitted...it also comes in the original box which is in mint condition. I am looking for around £100 for this model
  21. Well i am still in two minds on whether to go 80's or do both. I never run the modern stuff much and are now selling my pendolino and MPV windhoff so it looks as tho im going 80's. I will keep some of my modern locos like the hard to come by ones like the class 66 shanks etc.
  22. Thanks Dave....yeah i like the station name on the bridge and i am unsure whether to paint the letters and weather them with running dirt lines below. The class 33 was a brilliant find and have wanted one for ages but like you have never seen one before. Im off to Railex model rail exhibition now to see if i can pick up another bargain. Terry
  23. Yeah lots of planning to do and lots of vehicles and houses to buy.
  24. I once again ordered some more sheets of 12mm MDF today to collect in the morning to be able to build the scenic fiddle yard. I will be adding a one foot section beside the mainline and having around a four inch gap between as i want to add a ditch with a small dyke running through it.
