  1. . See here for Phil Parker's blog. Includes film of a previous show plus how he has travelled there from UK with his layout - not entirely without incident as there was some minor damage to the layout (and major damage to the box it travelled in). http://philsworkbench.blogspot.co.uk/ .
  2. . It has been modelled in the past. A Google search show the EM layout was featured in Model Railways magazine April 1982 and also MRJ 180 from 2008. As I grew up in Grantham, the Model Railways magazine was one I saved for a very long time but eventually got binned in a house move. .
  3. . Congratulations - we were told this last night as we were in the West Midlands getting the same guidance from your Birmingham based consultant. Our situation will be complicated by the need to have a separate trading company for fund raising such at our limited edition Bachmann loco. .
  4. . It may be difficult to believe but the original posting on the Gauge O Guild Forum included a photo of the label on the parcel with the date 20th April . . . . . . .
  5. Copied below from the Gauge O Guild Forum from Steve at Little Loco Co - for the avoidance of any doubt, I have no connection with Lococraft or Little Loco Co. . . . . I and a few others acted in an advisory capacity. Seems like a very decent chap who is going 'off piste' when it comes to prototypes to model. I think more interesting models will follow on the success of this one. .
  6. Copied below from the Gauge O Guild Forum Deliver items from England to West Australia in.........THREE DAYS !! Ordered 20 April delivered to my door on 23rd April. I have the invoice and parcel for proof.
  7. Payment details copied from the website indicates that there will be a refund of the first instalment if the initial target isn't met and all money refunded if the project fails. If the models are built and then you fail to make the second and third instalment then your initial investment would be lost. Should the crowdfunding target not be met, all monies paid into the crowdfunding project will be refunded, minus the postage. It must be understood that should payments be made to crowdfund this project, and further payments are not met, then all monies are non refundable, as failure to make the allotted payments by the due date could jeopardise the continuation of the project. This decision is final and no exceptions will be made. Should there be any unfortunate event where the manufacturer fails to supply the models, then ALL monies will be refunded forthwith. This is NOT a credit agreement. Interesting to see that Steve from Little Loco Co is one of those who has given advice . . . . . Grateful thanks should go to Steve Leathers, Andy Hoseason and Simon Bendall for their invaluable support and advice. There are also plans for the prototype Deltic. .
  8. I have been personally involved with two missing parcels - both sent by DHL to Israel. One was collected and delivered to East Midlands, sent to Heathrow and a couple of days later the partner asked us to track it as the rest of the consignment had arrived - tracking showed that after Heathrow, it went to Johannesburg, then Cape Town, back to Heathrow and eventually to Tel Aviv. The other went missing when the DHL van was subjected to an armed hijack to steal high value parcels . . . . . . . .
  9. There is a big announcement soon - see below .
  10. Sorry to hear of your 'difficulties' but I must admit that I had to laugh at the thought of you fouling the points, blocking the line and ending up with a semicolon !! Hope all goes well over the next few days and weeks - we all grumble about the NHS but where would we be without them - sounds like they are doing a thorough job Mike .
  11. . Well I recognise Chris Dunne and John Seward - don't know who the other bloke is though . . . . . . . Stands around the entrance look familiar and I would guess that our 7mm Narrow Gauge Assn. stand will be somewhere to the top right of the plan near the catering area. Visiting the Clubrooms next week to meet with Mr Jones - he's promised us tea . . . . Mike .
  12. . From a topic on Narrow Gauge Railway Modelling Online, I have just spotted an email address for contact with Alphagraphix. From memory there are four or five etched loco kits available in 7mm. Try sirberkeley@hotmail.com .
  13. . Roger Crumblehome trades as Alphagraphix. Details from UK ModelShops here http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/suppliers/40106-Alphagraphix I seem to recall that Roy Pooley exhibited at the Derby show with the SNCF Society perhaps 15 years ago. .
  14. Congratulations on your O level - I had to rate your post as 'Funny' as it made me laugh out loud - thanks for posting that, especially after all you have both been through over the last few days . . . . . . .

  16. . Books delivered, chocolate received and beer promised - so far it's been a good day at work . . . . After looking through those books in his lunch hour, I think Neil has gone to lie down in a dark room . . . . . . . .
  17. . I think I might be getting a few free beers (or chocolate!). I work with Neil and I have the following books in the Bowtell 'Dam Builders' series that he can borrow . . . . . Lesser Railways of Bowland Forest and Craven Country Lesser Railways of the Yorkshire Dales From Durham's Dales to the Border They will be delivered to his desk in about an hour's time . . . . !! .
  18. . Tom was a one time member of the Mickleover Model Railway Club and a friend had the unenviable job of disposing of a huge amount of stock - if I recall correctly, much of it was American and Scandinavian stock. .
  19. Tony So sorry to hear this shocking news. Working in administration at a University, I always enjoyed reading your tales about Matthew's travels around Europe and his research. My thoughts are with you and Aditi . . . . . . . Mike
  20. . Thanks - may I refer you to post #8 above . . . . . . . .

  23. . I hope it's not more than seven weeks . . . . . . . . . . .
  24. Yes and I'll load those in a day or two - then this topic gets to the top of the pile again so more people see it - otherwise you get to see everything in one day and the topic drops down the list until it's forgotten about. .
