  1. Payment details copied from the website indicates that there will be a refund of the first instalment if the initial target isn't met and all money refunded if the project fails. If the models are built and then you fail to make the second and third instalment then your initial investment would be lost. Should the crowdfunding target not be met, all monies paid into the crowdfunding project will be refunded, minus the postage. It must be understood that should payments be made to crowdfund this project, and further payments are not met, then all monies are non refundable, as failure to make the allotted payments by the due date could jeopardise the continuation of the project. This decision is final and no exceptions will be made. Should there be any unfortunate event where the manufacturer fails to supply the models, then ALL monies will be refunded forthwith. This is NOT a credit agreement. Interesting to see that Steve from Little Loco Co is one of those who has given advice . . . . . Grateful thanks should go to Steve Leathers, Andy Hoseason and Simon Bendall for their invaluable support and advice. There are also plans for the prototype Deltic. .
  2. I have been personally involved with two missing parcels - both sent by DHL to Israel. One was collected and delivered to East Midlands, sent to Heathrow and a couple of days later the partner asked us to track it as the rest of the consignment had arrived - tracking showed that after Heathrow, it went to Johannesburg, then Cape Town, back to Heathrow and eventually to Tel Aviv. The other went missing when the DHL van was subjected to an armed hijack to steal high value parcels . . . . . . . .
  3. There is a big announcement soon - see below .
  4. Sorry to hear of your 'difficulties' but I must admit that I had to laugh at the thought of you fouling the points, blocking the line and ending up with a semicolon !! Hope all goes well over the next few days and weeks - we all grumble about the NHS but where would we be without them - sounds like they are doing a thorough job Mike .
  5. . Well I recognise Chris Dunne and John Seward - don't know who the other bloke is though . . . . . . . Stands around the entrance look familiar and I would guess that our 7mm Narrow Gauge Assn. stand will be somewhere to the top right of the plan near the catering area. Visiting the Clubrooms next week to meet with Mr Jones - he's promised us tea . . . . Mike .
  6. . From a topic on Narrow Gauge Railway Modelling Online, I have just spotted an email address for contact with Alphagraphix. From memory there are four or five etched loco kits available in 7mm. Try sirberkeley@hotmail.com .
  7. . Roger Crumblehome trades as Alphagraphix. Details from UK ModelShops here http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/suppliers/40106-Alphagraphix I seem to recall that Roy Pooley exhibited at the Derby show with the SNCF Society perhaps 15 years ago. .
  8. Congratulations on your O level - I had to rate your post as 'Funny' as it made me laugh out loud - thanks for posting that, especially after all you have both been through over the last few days . . . . . . .

  10. . Books delivered, chocolate received and beer promised - so far it's been a good day at work . . . . After looking through those books in his lunch hour, I think Neil has gone to lie down in a dark room . . . . . . . .
  11. . I think I might be getting a few free beers (or chocolate!). I work with Neil and I have the following books in the Bowtell 'Dam Builders' series that he can borrow . . . . . Lesser Railways of Bowland Forest and Craven Country Lesser Railways of the Yorkshire Dales From Durham's Dales to the Border They will be delivered to his desk in about an hour's time . . . . !! .
  12. . Tom was a one time member of the Mickleover Model Railway Club and a friend had the unenviable job of disposing of a huge amount of stock - if I recall correctly, much of it was American and Scandinavian stock. .
  13. Tony So sorry to hear this shocking news. Working in administration at a University, I always enjoyed reading your tales about Matthew's travels around Europe and his research. My thoughts are with you and Aditi . . . . . . . Mike
  14. . Thanks - may I refer you to post #8 above . . . . . . . .

  17. . I hope it's not more than seven weeks . . . . . . . . . . .
  18. Yes and I'll load those in a day or two - then this topic gets to the top of the pile again so more people see it - otherwise you get to see everything in one day and the topic drops down the list until it's forgotten about. .
  19. . Mickleover Model Railway Group is proud to announce it will be holding its 38th Annual Derby model railway exhibition on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May at The Roundhouse, Derby, bringing together a wide selection of high quality layouts and exhibits from across the country, they will cover British, European and American outline in a variety of scales and gauges. . The show is once again being held in the former North Midland Railway locomotive workshops, pictured above. Built in 1839, it is currently Grade II* listed and is the oldest surviving railway roundhouse in the world. Now part of Derby College, the building has been fully restored and is a modern events venue. This means the exhibition is held in a true railway location! Situated adjacent to Derby railway station, The Roundhouse is easily accessible by public transport or car, full directions and maps are on the club’s newly redesigned website. This will be the fourth exhibition the Group has held at The Roundhouse and it is now very much the home of the Derby show. After the success of last year’s event, it is very pleasing to be able to anounce that this year’s exhibition will continue in its enlarged and expanded format using a third area at the venue. This means the whole of the available facility is now being used for the Derby Model Railway Exhibition and will be filled with (model) railways in a railway venue! Derby Model Railway Exhibition 2018 The Roundhouse, Roundhouse Road, Pride Park, Derby, DE24 8JE. Parking onsite and nearby for visitors. Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May. Open 10.00am to 5.00pm Saturday, 10.00am to 4.30pm Sunday Admission: Adults: £8, Under 14s: Free (when accompanied by a paying adult) Hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day in the venue, including a bar serving a selection of bottled and Draught Real Ales. Layout and Trader list available and will be posted in a day or two .
  20. . I have to agree with the comments above - I have to sit opposite Neil at work and he's had a silly grin on his face since 10.00am this morning - it can't be that he's happy with his work (that's usually head down and lots of muttering) - I suppose it could be wind but it's more likely that he's rather pleased with this announcement especially as he tells me he has Order No 1 and I see that our friend and co-conspirator on layout planning and narrow gauge modelling, Andy is also planning a purchase (as of course will I once we have made some progress on sorting things out after the recent house move). .
  21. . I hope that's an easier job than in the bad old days when we went through so many different versions of the forum as well as the numerous attempts to find a reliable internet service provider. We never knew from one day to the next if we would be able to find you again or if you had disappeared into a black hole in cyber space . . . . . Thanks for sticking with it despite all the problems you faced including the muppets who didn't understand the 'rules' . . . . . . . Mike .
  22. . As Wedding Anniversaries seem to be the topic of the day, we celebrated 40 years a couple of weeks ago - and on the same day it was the wife's 60th birthday as well - lucky me as I only have one date to remember !! Does anyone get married at 20 these days . . . . . . . ? (and I was 23) .
  23. Not in small print - it's actually in bold on the application form http://www.gauge0guild.com/downloads/appform3.pdf However I haven't seen anywhere that you get back issues of the magazine so that you get 4 issues for your short term subscription - I know that happens with other sociesties that have a fixed renewal date. .
  24. . NO . As far as I can tell from their website CIRAS receive and investigate incidents on behalf of transport industries The survey that Lorna has started is just one part of an independent student project - I don't have any details but the next part of the survey may well be a survey of airline pilots or doctors or any other occupation which has no connection to CIRAS. .
